  Hi, Last year, I worked as a free lancer on one project. Unfortunately, person I worked for, decided that he is not happy about my work, and he decided to fired me. After 7 months, he called me, and ask to me return "his" money. In any other case, he will sue me. His version is that I have to give him 1500 euros, but my version is that he own me another 1500. I have no contract, only emails and Excel file with counted hours. What do I have to do? I don't want to give him back 1500, because it was my work, and his bad management. Also, I do not want my 1500, because I think it's not fair from my side. What should I do?

• Wordpress is ignoring Unicode Chars in URL

  Hi, I am using wordpress with this type of permalink: /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/ if I use this type of url: example.com/2010/03/????? it treats this url like this example.com/2010/03/ (By ignoring unicode chars) and displays March 2010 archive list. if I use english url: example.com/2010/03/technology then it works perfectly. This problem occurs even on tags page: for example example.com/tag/??????? is treated like example.com/tag/ and displays 404 page. Why wordpress is ignoring unicode chars? If I use default querystring structure then it works perfectly even with unicode characters. Server Info: IIS7 Win2008 Server (Url rewriting enabled) Wordpress 2.9.2

• Formatting a barcode with hyphens in between - Assignment question

  Hi, The assignment at my first year uni computing course says my program should read a barcode number, and then display the same 13 digit barcode number separated by hyphens. For example, 9300675016902 should look like 930-067501-690-1. The restrictions say I can't use the following: No arrays No strings No functions. Any directions on this? (So far I have done this: part1 = barcode/10000000000; which gives me the first three digits, and this: part4 = barcode%10; which gives me the last digit. Thanks in advance!

  I'm attempting to find the best methodology for finding a specific pattern and then replace the ending portion of the pattern. Here is a quick example (in C#): //Find any year value starting with a bracket or underscore string patternToFind = "[[_]2007"; Regex yearFind = new Regex(patternToFind); //I want to change any of these values to x2008 where x is the bracket or underscore originally in the text. I was trying to use Regex.Replace(), but cannot figure out if it can be applied.   Basically I posted a code snippet on a forum asking for help and people pointed out to me that using GoTo statements is very bad programming practise so I'm just wondering, why is it bad?   I'm trying to get an updated version for Windows vista. I previously got 21.4.22 but it's been a year since that release. The linux versions should be 22.x. I'm wondering if anyone else builds stable binaries for Windows ? 21.4.22 has several bugs and I cannot figure out how to fix them. I know Xemacs is not as active as GNU emacs but still aren't there any Xemacs users on windows who build their own copies even if the official site doesn't ? I would like to be able to compare buffers, files and directories apart from being able to edit any file : java, javascript, ruby, .bat, .sh, .xml, etc.

• JAXB Locator - missing dependency?

  On my current project we generate JAXB beans from an XSD file. We need line number information on the beans (beyond XSD validation errors!) so I used the -Xlocator option specified here: http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.6/jaxb/xjc.html However, I'm missing the Locator class. The jar file referenced to on that six-year old page can't be found anywhere, as I don't see a download for JWSDP on any site at all. Is XJC dead? Should I be using something else?

  We have library website written in classic ASP that allows to browse and search by multiple (50+) filter criterias (author, publication year, ISSN ... ). There are lots of security holes and we have only one developer who hardly maintain this ASP-site with some minor features for last 3 years. There are two common user groups - administrators (librarians) and students (5000+) who have books on hands and searches for them. We don't want to rewrite it from scratch, just to use standard free CMS (.net based) and migrate library data and user accounts with minimum effort. What CMS will you suggest? Thank you in advance.

  I have a directory full of log files in the form ${name}.log.${year}{month}${day} such that they look like this: logs/ production.log.20100314 production.log.20100321 production.log.20100328 production.log.20100403 production.log.20100410 ... production.log.20100314 production.log.old I'd like to use a bash script to filter out all the logs older than x amount of month's and dump it into *.log.old X=6 #months LIST=*.log.*; for file in LIST; do is_older = file_is_older_than_months( ${file}, ${X} ); if is_older; then cat ${c} >> production.log.old; rm ${c}; fi done; How can I get all the files older than x months? and... How can I avoid that *.log.old file is included in the LIST attribute? Thank you Stefan

• How to structure controller to sort multiple criteria asp.net mvc

  Hi, What's the best way to set up a controller to sort by many (possibly null) criteria? Say for example, I was building a site that sold cars. My CarController has a function Index() which returns an IList of cars to the view, and details on each car are rendered with a partial view. What's the best way to structure this? Especially if there are a lot of criteria: Car Type (aka SUV), Car Brand, Car Model, Car Year, Car Price, Car Color, bool IsNew, or if I want to sort by closest to me etc... I'm using NHibernate as my ORM. Should I have just a ton of possible NHibernate queries and figure out which one to choose based on if/then's in the controller? Or is there a simpler way. • What is the point in using a "real" database modeling tool?

  We currently have a 10 year old nasty, spaghetti-code-style SQL Server database that we are soon looking to pretty much re-write from scratch as part of a re-write to a large web application. (The existing application will serve as the functional requirements for the next incarnation of the app). Some have suggested we use Visio to do all the diagramming and to generate the DDL, but others have suggested we use a dedicated database design tool, rather than a diagramming tool that is able to export DDL. Is there any benefit to using "real" DB design tools, such as ModelRight, over general tools like Visio? If so, what are those specific benefits? Edit: In a nutshell, what can real/dedicated tools do that something like Visio can't, and how much do these capabilities matter (from a best-practices standpoint, for example)

  We are interested in finding out some statistics of various frameworks Mailing list activity on say richfaces. Much similar to what is available on http://code.google.com (Low, Medium, High) + average number of emails per day | per month. Number of releases made in a year including patch, minor, major releases. We did look at the maven repositories but that wasn't very useful either. We did look at ohloh, but didn't get the desired information. Any other ideas on where to get this information (any maven-2 plugins)?
