    I have a list of tuples with three values in tuples I want to create new List of strings out of previous list with one value out of tuples. List [(string * string * int) ] List[ for i in columns -> i.getfirstvalueintuple] How can i do that? very basic question but i can't figure it out. Also is there any other way of building another kind of list or seq out of existing list?

  • Flex: Result event given multiple times

    Hello everybody!! I am trying to learn Flex and now i have the next code: http://pastebin.com/rZwxF7w1 This code is for my login component. I want to get a special string for encrypting my password. This string is given by my authservice. But when i login i get a multiple times a alert with Done(line 69 in the pastebin code or line 4 in the code on the bottom of this question). But i want that it shows one single time. Does someone know what is wrong with this code?   • C++ type-checking at compile-time

    Hi, all. I'm pretty new to C++, and I'm writing a small library (mostly for my own projects) in C++. In the process of designing a type hierarchy, I've run into the problem of defining the assignment operator. I've taken the basic approach that was eventually reached in this article, which is that for every class MyClass in a hierarchy derived from a class Base you define two assignment operators like so: class MyClass: public Base { public: MyClass& operator =(MyClass const& rhs); virtual MyClass& operator =(Base const& rhs); }; // automatically gets defined, so we make it call the virtual function below MyClass& MyClass::operator =(MyClass const& rhs); { return (*this = static_cast<Base const&>(rhs)); } MyClass& MyClass::operator =(Base const& rhs); { assert(typeid(rhs) == typeid(*this)); // assigning to different types is a logical error MyClass const& casted_rhs = dynamic_cast<MyClass const&>(rhs); try { // allocate new variables Base::operator =(rhs); } catch(...) { // delete the allocated variables throw; } // assign to member variables } The part I'm concerned with is the assertion for type equality. Since I'm writing a library, where assertions will presumably be compiled out of the final result, this has led me to go with a scheme that looks more like this: class MyClass: public Base { public: operator =(MyClass const& rhs); // etc virtual inline MyClass& operator =(Base const& rhs) { assert(typeid(rhs) == typeid(*this)); return this->set(static_cast<Base const&>(rhs)); } private: MyClass& set(Base const& rhs); // same basic thing }; But I've been wondering if I could check the types at compile-time. I looked into Boost.TypeTraits, and I came close by doing BOOST_MPL_ASSERT((boost::is_same<BOOST_TYPEOF(*this), BOOST_TYPEOF(rhs)>));, but since rhs is declared as a reference to the parent class and not the derived class, it choked. Now that I think about it, my reasoning seems silly -- I was hoping that since the function was inline, it would be able to check the actual parameters themselves, but of course the preprocessor always gets run before the compiler. But I was wondering if anyone knew of any other way I could enforce this kind of check at compile-time.

  • Concept of GUI's - Centralized or decentralized

    Hello all, Since a few months I've been learning Erlang, and now it was time to do some basic GUI. After some quick research I saw there was an interesting library called 'wxi' (based on Fudgets of Haskell) which uses a different approach on GUI's. No central loop, every widget processes it's own events and handles it's own data. What do you guys think about this?   • Replay attacks for HTTPS requests

    Let's say a security tester uses a proxy, say Fiddler, and records an HTTPS request using the administrator's credentials-- on replay of the entire request (including session and auth cookies) the security tester is able to succesfully (re)record transactions. The claim is that this is a sign of a CSRF vulnerability. What would a malicious user have to do to intercept the HTTPS request and replay it? It this a task for script kiddies, well funded military hacking teams or time-traveling-alien technology? Is it really so easy to record the SSL sessions of users and replay them before the tickets expire? No code in the application currently does anything interesting on HTTP GET, so AFAIK, tricking the admin into clicking a link or loading a image with a malicious URL isn't an issue.

  • Nice, clean, simple way of getting a dataset from ASP.NET to plain HTML jQuery or JavaScript library

    I know this is a probable open ended question, and I have tried looking around so much over the last year or two... maybe I am looking for a perfect place that doesn't exist! of course it's all about perception no less.. Anyway, just to clarify what I am trying to do and why: I want to be able to use (primarily for the moment) ASP.NET or services thereof to get a dataset - whatever the source data, I can obviously get a dataset of rows/Columns. I want to be able to, as simply as possible, get that data over to the client via xml/json/whatever, to then use in a "variety" of ways. "Variety" of ways meaning I would like to "easily" bind that data to say a grid, or a combo dropdown or just simply render to a textbox - BUT by referencing the dataset as I would say on the serverside. Now I know this all sounds simplistic, and I know there are lots of complications.. so I have tried the following so far over the last year or so: ExtJS - very good, nice solid framework, but just found it a bit too much to use in everyday basic apps - great if I was building a whole application with it Yahoo YUI - not looked recently, but I guess some of the concepts with ExtJS were similar? JQuery - of course to get data etc, it was ok, and I guess there are so many 3rd party plugins, that a mix and match might work? Adobe SPRY - ironically this was as close to getting a dataset style structure to Javascript/client, although it seemed to drop off/go quiet..? I maybe wrong.. I did have a very cursory play with Tibco GI and another one I cannot remember the name of! but again, it felt like it was great to build a whole app perhaps? Anyway, I am very amazed by all of the technologies coming out, and really not biased one way or the other, I really just want a very simple way of getting data from the server, and having a basic/very flexible way of working with that data in the client without using server technologies.. I need to keep the server flexible as I may need to use PHP, or java technologies not just .NET So again, sorry for the rambles, but if anyone out there has had a simple experience, or would like to share some ideas, it would be very welcomed!!   • How come .net 4.0 and .net 2.0 CLR's can exist in a same machine

    I have a basic doubt that, How can we have both CLR's on a same machine. If this is possible, When I refer few dll's of 4.0 and setting application pool to 2.0 why Cant I run the website(I am getting errors).When we refer the dll's from web.config it means it searches for GAC when that particular 4.0 dll is available in GAC Why dont it load (How come it is not loading).. Please clarify my doubts

With two models like so: class School(models.Model): name = models.CharField("Official School Name", max_length=128) address = models.TextField("Address of the School", max_length=256) mascot = models.CharField("Name of the School Mascot", max_length=128) class StudentProfile(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=128) school = models.ForeignKey(School) If the student gets created before the school, how do I give 'school' a default empty value?   • google oauth doesn't redirect to callback after authorization

    I can't seem to get google to redirect to the callback url after obtaining the auth token. By redirecting the user to the following url, the user can click grant or deny access. After that the user clicks on one of the choices, the user is not redirected back to the callback url. https://www.google.com/accounts/OAuthAuthorizeToken?oauth_token=4%2F5ETLZ84rGmRxE_yx0b-_IFDReUxe&oauth_callback=http://blahblahblah.com/user_sessions/create&oauth_version=1.0&hd=default I'm wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be. Also does google require I use something like openssl.

Use lib/tasks instead. I am new to rails, tried looking online but things seem to be outdated. Please help!

    So I was thinking about languages the other day, and it struck me that any program written in a compiled language that interacts with the Internet is then translated into assembly that has to interact with the Internet. I've just begun learning a bit of x86 assembly to help me understand C++ a bit better, and I'm baffled by how something so low-level could do something like access the Internet.     I have a very basic data class that is subclassed from NSObject. I declare a few strings, make sure they have properties (nonatomic, copy), and synthesize them. The only method I implemented was dealloc() which releases my strings. Can any memory problems arise from just this? Are there any other methods I need to implement?

  • How can I authenticate when using the Bugzilla Perl API in a script?

    Working from the Bugzilla API, I've written a quick Perl script to clone a Bugzilla Product (recreating all the Components under their new Product). The Bugzilla Perl API is quite easy to use from the command line. I could have just worked on the database directly, but I wanted a longer-term solution. Another option was the webservice, but I thought I'd try using the API directly this time. The one problem I'm running into is authenticating as my Bz admin user so I can create the new components. Looking at Bugzilla's Bugzilla.pm file, I see that they just run login() from a Bugzilla::Auth object. I'm not sure how to get the username and password in there. I suppose I could just add the script to the Bugzilla admin interface... Can any of you point me in the right direction?
