    Starting to learn image filtering and stumped on a question found on website: Applying a 3×3 mean filter twice does not produce quite the same result as applying a 5×5 mean filter once. However, a 5×5 convolution kernel can be constructed which is equivalent. What does this kernel look like? Would appreciate help so that I can understand the subject better. Thanks.

    I started getting carpal tunnel symptoms about a year back and have tried different mice/keyboards and nothing seems to help. When my right wrist (i am right handed) started giving me pain, I switched from a regular optical mouse to this logitech mouse: It helped for a short while. I then started to learn using my left hand to operate the mouse. Now, my left wrist has started experiencing the symptoms. Which mouse do you recommend that has really helped you?

    Trying to solve this problem. I would like to learn how the bootstrapper detects if prerequisites (specifically .NET 3.5) are installed. According to this reference, a way to detect if .NET is installed is to check the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v3.5 Using process monitor, I have inspected registry queries done by the bootstrapper (setup.exe) and it did not show any access to this registry key. Does anybody know how the bootstrapper determines whether the prerequisites are installed on the target system?

I know all about System.Reflection.MethodBase.GetCurrentMethod(), but I want to go one step beneath this in the stack trace. I've considered parsing the stack trace, but I am hoping to find a cleaner more explicit way, something like Assembly.GetCallingAssembly() but for methods.

  • IE6 Bug - Div within Anchor tag: inline images not links

    I'm trying to get everything in the anchor tag to be a clickable link. Unfortunately, in IE6 (which is the only browser I'm concerned with currently), the only thing that isn't a clickable link are the inline images. I know that it's not valid html to put a div inside of an anchor but it's not my markup and I've been asked to avoid changing it. Any suggestions to altering the CSS to enable the images as clickable links? If changing the markup is the only solution... any suggestions there? My initial thought was to set the image as a background of it's parent (.ph-item-featured-img), although I'm unclear if that will solve the problem.     I'm just starting to learn Ruby and have a problem with encoding; require 'rubygems' require 'mechanize' agent = Mechanize.new agent.get('myurl.....') agent.page.search('#reciperesult a').each do |item| c = Mechanize.new c.get(item.attributes['href']) puts c.page.search('#ingredients li').text end The output text are shown like this h+©nsekj+©tt when it should have been shown like this hønsekjøtt. I'm using Ruby 1.8.7. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
