  • Problems removing a " from a string

    Hi, I have a string that ends with a " (quotation mark) that I want to get rid of. However, because XCode usually requires you to enter the text you wish to remove using stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString in @"texttoremove" format, you can't use the quotation marks in the space as it thinks you are closing the text. Any ideas on how I can do it? Thanks.

  • Sun permgen & JRockit garbage collection

    In the Sun JVM, classes that are loaded by the class loader are put in permgen space and never gc'd. (Unless the class loader goes out of scope) It's my understanding that JRockit puts that same data on the heap instead. Is that data then subject to garbage collection? Thanks.

But how long should I keep the log files? What are "good" default values (7 or 180 days)? Or do you prefer other criteria (e.g. max. used disk space)?

    I have an Windows.Documents.InlineUIContainerin a RichTextBox, and sometimes it's font size of alignment change when I hit key combination such as Ctrl+Space. I couldn't find any place to handle these events and block them somehow. I don't want to block it in the RichTextBox. I am more looking for a way to block it only on the InlineUIContainer.

    I'd like to write a service that periodically checks a POP3 account for new messages and based on custom business logic forwards the messages to an appropriate "To", and possibly changes the "From" as well. I might need to keep some messages on the server until certain conditions are ready for them to be forwarded. So it's got to sort fast a small number of possibly repeated double precision values, many times in a row. The values are in the [0..1] interval. Output I want is: H343423 C343423 Output my RegEx is getting is: H343423 Something1 Something2 C343423 0 So it is fetching the whole line but I just want it to stop after first word is read. Any help?

    I was just wondering if it were at all possible for an Action Bar icon to only be shown when the device is in landscape mode? In portrait I have an onscreen button for a certain task, but in order to take advantage of all of the screen-space in landscape, that button won't fit. So I was wondering if I could put it in the Action Bar, but it would only be necessary when the device is in landscape. Thanks!

    For Android GUI: I would like to create a window that I can pull up from the bottom of another window, kind of like the Notification bar or the tab in the bottom on Spotify for Android. I want to be able to grab a small piece of the window and pull it up. Or just click it and it will "pop up". And afterwards be able to pull or click it so it returs to its original space.
