Compatibility between Qt and Boost sockets libraries

Hello In my work, I'm developing a Viewer client for a Offshore simulation server, using sockets to send the simulation data from the Simulator to de Viewer. But, the server uses Boost.asio as it's sockets library. As the client uses Qt for it's GUI, I was wondering if there is any problem in using de Qt Networking library for handling the sockets. Is there any compatibility issues? Thanks in advance, and sorry for my bad english.

DotNetNuke will not save from editor

A DNN site version 05.02.00(275) When editing a HTML module the following happens: If I make the changes and save before the cookie "portalaliasid" expires (within 1 minute) all is well. BUT if I stay in the editor for a longer time, say 2 minutes, and posting I end up at the editor again with the old content. All my previous work is lost. Now I'm lost - is this a bug, a bad setting or what? /Staffan

how to send keystrokes to maplestory?

hi i play a game called maplestory because a LOT of my friends do and i want to talk to them online and they will only chat on maplestory because they are playing it. i would like to build a program that will send my chats to maplestory and it will be a small little chat window because i can't do much well im chatting on Maplestory. i have tryed sending my fake input to maplestory but their anti-hack shield blocks it, i can't find a way by it with out running a by pass to their anti-hack shield which i don't really want to do :( so i need a way to send stuff by so i can chat. please don't tell me to use a by pass i really would like to find a way to leave it running. also i only really need keyboard input not really the mouse because to chat you only have to hit enter then type text then enter to send, but hey it might come in useful. also if the way only works for the top window i can just make something that swhitchs back and forth.

How to crop scanned image using C#?

I have a scanned image of a book page and i need to crop this scan for leaving only page area. I tried to use AForge to detect page borders, but it doesn't work because the space which i need to crop may consist of little "light" areas (due to scanner quality) and edge detector detects borders there. That's why this is bad idea as for me. Could you recommend something? P.S. Please don't tell me to use non-free libraries.

Strange error from mysql storage engine

General error: 1030 Got error -1 from storage engine the used storage engine is innodb the query was runned when i got it today morning was: SELECT feeds.* FROM feeds ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1 i know rand() is bad but it's very small table (<500 records) and not loaded project this error i receive approximately once a day. cannot google anything relevant :-(

Document Based Application, preinitialize window (enter serial, buy, trial)

I need to create several windows before NSDocument is loaded, or create a window that blocks NSDocument window and top menu. I tried several solutions - but they didn't work right. modal window, one after another. there were some problems with Async URLConnection, and some other problems with my NSDocument content. I created custom MainMenu.xib with no menu, that opens my preinitialize windows. here i found some other problems, when a file(associated with my application) is opened - the Document Window initializes. Here i tried to subclass NSDocumentController, but i found no way to pause the "open document". (i want the document to be opened anyway, but only after the preinitalize windows would be closed). So what is the right way to do this?

What's an appropriate HTTP status code to return by a REST API service for a validation failure?

I'm currently returning 401 Unauthorized whenever I encounter a validation failure in my Django/Piston based REST API application. Having had a look at the HTTP Status Code Registry I'm not convinced that this is an appropriate code for a validation failure, what do y'all recommend? 400 Bad Request 401 Unauthorized 403 Forbidden 405 Method Not Allowed 406 Not Acceptable 412 Precondition Failed 417 Expectation Failed 422 Unprocessable Entity 424 Failed Dependency Update: "Validation failure" above means an application level data validation failure ie. incorrectly specified datetime, bogus email address etc.

Browser popup blocker blocking jasper reports generated from flex

Hi all, I have a flex application that uses navigateToURL() to call a servlet. The servlet in turn generates a JasperReport and then uses exportReport() to show the report in a new browser tab. Now, my problem is this. I want to generate multiple reports at once, each opening in its own tab. It all works fine except that in Firefox the built in browser pop-up blocker sees every new tab that is opened after the first report tab as a pop-up. It blocks this and is giving me endless headaches. I also tried this in IE8, Safari, Chrome and Opera with no problems. Any help as to how I can get past the Firefox pop-up blocker would be much appreciated. Pieter

I'm sure that for (some) scripting languages that could be achieved, and would like to see how. Can we prove that comment true, for C, too? NB: this doesn't mean hex to ASCII binary - specifically the output should be a raw octet stream corresponding to the input ASCII hex. Also, the input parser should skip/ignore white space. edit (by Brian Campbell) May I propose the following rules, for consistency? Feel free to edit or delete these if you don't think these are helpful, but I think that since there has been some discussion of how certain cases should work, some clarification would be helpful. The program must read from stdin and write to stdout (we could also allow reading from and writing to files passed in on the command line, but I can't imagine that would be shorter in any language than stdin and stdout) The program must use only packages included with your base, standard language distribution. In the case of C/C++, this means their respective standard libraries, and not POSIX. The program must compile or run without any special options passed to the compiler or interpreter (so, 'gcc myprog.c' or 'python myprog.py' or 'ruby myprog.rb' are OK, while 'ruby -rscanf myprog.rb' is not allowed; requiring/importing modules counts against your character count). The program should read integer bytes represented by pairs of adjacent hexadecimal digits (upper, lower, or mixed case), optionally separated by whitespace, and write the corresponding bytes to output. Each pair of hexadecimal digits is written with most significant nibble first. The behavior of the program on invalid input (characters besides [a-fA-F \t\r\n], spaces separating the two characters in an individual byte, an odd number of hex digits in the input) is undefined; any behavior (other than actively damaging the user's computer or something) on bad input is acceptable (throwing an error, stopping output, ignoring bad characters, treating a single character as the value of one byte, are all OK) The program may write no additional bytes to output. Code is scored by fewest total bytes in the source file. (Or, if we wanted to be more true to the original challenge, the score would be based on lowest number of lines of code; I would impose an 80 character limit per line in that case, since otherwise you'd get a bunch of ties for 1 line).

I'm using MonoTouch. When I rotate to LandscapeRight/Left I want to change the location of some of my buttons but I'm not having any success. I'm replacing the button.Bounds with a new rectangleF and setting that value in the WillRotate, but that's not working. I am returning true in my ShouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation handler. In principal what I'm trying to do is allow as much as possible to automatically rotate but then fix a couple of buttons that end up in a bad place.

Proxy configuration of a machine can be easily fetched using def check_proxy(): import urllib2 http_proxy = urllib2.getproxies().get('http') I need to write a test for the above written function. In order to do that I need to:- Set the system-wide proxy to an invalid URL during the test(sounds like a bad idea). Supply an invalid URL to http_proxy. How can I achieve either of the above?

ASP.Net: Finding the cause of OutOfMemoryExpcetions

I trying to track down the cause of an OutOfMemory for a website. This site has ~12,000 .aspx pages and the last time it crashed I captured a memory dump using adplus. After some investigation I found a lot of heap fragmentation, there are around 100MB of Free blocks which can't be assigned. Digging deeper one of the Large Object Heaps is fragmented and the causes seems to be String interning as described [here][1] Could this be caused by the number of pages in the site? As they are all compiled they sit in memory and by looking at the dump they are interned and PINNED which I think means they stick around for a while. I would find this odd as there are many sites with more pages, but dynamic compilation could account for the growth in memory. What other methods are there for finding the cause of the memory leak? Can a client determine whether the server has accept()'d a unix socket?

I'm dealing with a buggy server that will sometimes fail to accept() connections (but leaves its listening socket open). This is on Linux with unix domain sockets. Currently the only way to detect this is that after sending a bunch of data, the buffer fills up and blocks, and the server isn't sending any replies. This long-after-the-fact failure mode is hard to distinguish from other bugs - the server could be unresponsive for other reasons. Especially for unix domain sockets it seems the kernel should know whether accept() has occurred; is there any way to find this out? Can the client block until accept() happens somehow, or at least check whether it has? This is just for debugging purposes so it can be a little ugly.

Downloaded chm is blocked, is there a solution?

CHM files that are downloaded are often tagged as potentially malicious by Windows, which effectively blocks all the html pages inside of it. There's an easy fix (just unblock the file after you download it), but I was wondering if there's a better way to provide unblocked chm files. What if I were to download the chm file (as a byte stream) from our server inside the application, then write all the data to a file on the disk. Would it still be blocked? Is there another/better way still?

Setting up a linked server to another server which isn't in a domain without using SQL authenticatio

Server A (SQL2005) is in our primary domain, but server B (SQL2000) is just in a windows workgroup. We are not allowed to join it to the domain, or bad things happen... We also can't enable SQL authentication on server B. We've got domain accounts for A, and matching local accounts on server B. I can connect to B from my local PC or A using SSMS and a domain login, but I can't get the linked server to connect. Any ideas how to do this?
