    I was hoping to keep cross-browser compatibility and afaik this is the only issue so far. .setAttribute("onclick", "return showRapidText("+itemnum+");"); This works PERFECT but I'd like to make it IE compatible by putting it in this syntax .onclick = new Function("fnDisplay_Computers('" + alines[i] + "')"); so... I tried .onclick = new Function("showRapidText('" + itemnum + "')"); and .onclick = new Function("return showRapidText('" + itemnum + "')"); and about 40 other ways but nothing works

  • switch easily between different main()

    I'm using VS2010 I have a project with several headers and one file with the main() function. For testing purposes I'd like to be able to easily another main() function that would instanciate different things than my original main. Is there an easy way to define 2 "main" function, and easily switch between them? The best would be to compile 2 binaries, one that starts at main1() and the other at main2(), or it can be a solution that requires to recompile some files, it doesn't matter

    Hello I have some code that is cross-platform by unsing #ifdef OS, I have a Queue protected by a CriticalSection on Windows, and by a pthread_mutex_t on Linux. I would like to implement a Wait(timeout) call that would block a thread until something has been enqueued. I though about using WaitForSingleObject on windows but it don't seem to support CriticalSection. Which Win32 and which Linux functions should I use to Wait and Signal for a condition to happen.     const int t=5; char buf[t+5]; When I compile this gives error in C but not in C++!! Can anybody please explain me the reason? Note: I know the const defaults to internal linkage in 'C++', where as in 'C' it defaults to external linkage. Does it has any relation to the above case??

    I'm conflicted between a "read once, use memory+pointers to files" and a "read when necessary" approach. The latter is of course much easier (no additional classes needed to store the whole dir structure), but IMO it is slower? A little clarification: I'm writing a simple build system, that read a project file, checks if all files are present, and runs some compile steps. The file tree is static, so the first option doesn't need to be very dynamic and only needs to be built once every time the program is run. Thanks
