  I'm trying to use the OpenCA library in a C++ application. However, when including the file pki_x509_data_st.h the following code fragment is encountered: typedef struct pki_x509_callbacks_st { /* ---------------- Memory Management -------------------- */ void * (*new) (void ); void (*free) (void *x ); void * (*dup) (void *x ); This won't compile because of the "new" pointer declaration. How can I make it work?

  Hi, Why does the Javascript function call isNaN(123.) return false? Is this a universally acceptable number or will it cause errors downstream? I'm validating whether a value is a valid decimal using isNaN along with split. Are there cross-browser issues with isNaN? Should I use a bespoke implementation? Thanks.

  Say I have a dataframe df with two or more columns, is there an easy way to use unique() or other R function to create a subset of unique combinations of two or more columns? I know I can use sqldf() and write an easy "SELECT DISTINCT var1, var2, ... varN" query, but I am looking for an R way of doing this. It occurred to me to try ftable coerced to a dataframe and use the field names, but I also get the cross tabulations of combinations that don't exist in the dataset: uniques <- as.data.frame(ftable(df$var1, df$var2))

• Using NetBeans for multiple programming languages

  I am looking for a cross platform RAD IDE with GUI building. NetBeans looks right (or am aI wrong?). However, I may want to code somethings in C++ and some in Python. It looks like both are supported, but I am not sure if I need to install two copies of NetBeans or if one can handle both programming languages.   Hi everybody, I've recently started using FDT, for a while I was using FlashDevelop, it had a really handy feature in Compiler options where you can set UseNetworkServices to false which would stop the compiled swf from connecting to the internet and became very useful for running standalone flash apps without security warnings when loading in an external xml file etc. Does anybody know if FDT has a similar function? If there isn't a way, then no worries, I can compile the project in Flash Develop, however it would be best if I can do it from FDT. Cheers guys, Will

• How to link latest stable version of libCURL using vc++2010

  On 2 separate machines in completely different environments (work, home) I've been unable to compile libCURL out of the box. Running nmake -f Makefile.vc mode=dll VC=10, I get an unresolved external symbol errors for _IdnToAscii and _IdnToUnicode. I believe the definitions are in Normaliz.lib, which is referenced in LFLAGS, but it either isn't finding it or the version I have doesn't have those functions. But I don't see any option to download this file...anyone have a good solution short of commenting out the 2 lines that use these functions?

  I'm working at a java application that performs some xslt transformation. I would like to match nodes into the xslt document, using a parameter provided by java. Which is the right way to do something like: <xsl:template match="//m:properties/*[contains($pattern,name())]"> because when I launch my application, it claims it's not able to compile the stylesheet, since pattern is not defined but I'm setting it using the setParameter method and I was able to use another parameter defined in the same way but in a different context.   I am kind of new to C (I have prior Java, C#, and some C++ experience). In C, is it necessary to declare a function prototype or can the code compile without it?
