Read Velocity Tokens/Tag from .vm file

I have an application where in I am trying to create a velocity template repository which will help me centralise all my email templates and will allow me to create a communication hub. All templates will be called at runtime and populates with data via services. My problem is that I need to provide users with optional and compulsory params list when they define the template inputs for the velocity template. Is there a way to read the tokens/tags from the velocity template file and extract them?? Like I want a list of tokens $name.address.streetName to be available to me from .vm file. I do not want to go for Regex . I do not have to cache or reuse them , its just going to be a one time read and store the default,compulsory & optional params in the database. Alt attribute encoding with JavaScript

Hi, Html entities must be encoded in alt attribute of an image in HTML page. So <img id="formula" alt="A → B" src="formula.png" /> will work well. On the other hand, the same JavaScript code will not work document.getElementById('formula').alt = 'A → B'; and will produce A → B instead of A → B. How to do it through JavaScript, when it is not possible to put the special (unencoded) characters in the source code?

I want to preload images but ensure they are loaded before continuing. How can I do this? The following does not work as it sends off the load request only, but doesn't wait till the image is loaded. Change all instances of object to iframe for IE using Jquery

I was wondering if it would be possible to use jquery to change all object tags on a site automatically to iframe for IE 8 and below. I would like this so that it can be xhtml 1.1 valid and not have to be double coded all the time and you would not have to focus on non-standard browsers. The data attribute would have to be changed to src, I would like frameborder="0" to be inserted, and all styles set to the object tag also set to the iframe tag. I don't want this to turn into a debate on iframes vs objects, I just thing this would be a huge time saver and would encourage proper strict xhtml coding. Thanks for any input!

How do I make my horizontally scrolling page work in IE?

I am using a horizontal scroll for a page on my website ~ works great in FF but not in IE, how can i get it to work in IE? Image visualization with canvas. How to resize them?

I'm building a website photo gallery for a friend. Images are loaded as simple DOM image objects (<img src="" />), and the size of these images is based on the browser size. So I resize them with CSS. This isn't an optimal solution since CSS resizing seems to change the quality of the image and pixelate it quite a bit. I was thinking of rendering the image with canvas and then resize it with that so that the quality remains effective, but I can't find any info about this online. Any ideas?

Unable to import example projects from book (newbie question)

I am trying to import projects from a book "Beginning Android 2" but when I choose the root directory the "Finish" button is still grayed out. I've tried importing the project from scratch with no success, and I've also tried to create a template project with the same name and everything and then importing into that (Import existing projects into workspace) but it always says "No projects are found to import". The contents of the folder are: Res folder, src folder with .java file, the manifest, build, and default.properties files. I am new to android dev (obviously) so I appreciate the help.

Using JS script for "raining images". Can't seem to hide pre-loaded image

I am trying to hide an image in a script pre-loading on the page. Below script makes images "rain" down the screen onClick. It functions well, but it displays the pre-loaded image itself on the page before the button is clicked. I'm trying to hide the image until the button is pressed. h3 tag text/image replacement, does this hurt seo?

I'm trying to "replace" text with an image in all of my h3 tags. I want the image to be in the html to avoid multiple h3 classes as this is being done for a portfolio and there will be about 10 h3 tags on the page. My question is, will this be viewed as an attempt to hide, stuff keywords by google for seo purposes? If it will then does anyone know a better way to accomplish this? Special character in "entrée" cannot be displayed correctly if defined in a separate javascript file

Example: The following string is defined in a json.js file. var test = "One complimentary entrée with the purchase of an entrée."; It is included in an index.html file by <script type="text/JavaScript" src="./json.js"></script> When the string is displayed in UI, it shows up as "One complimentary entr?e with the purchase of an entr?e." But if string is defined directly in the index.html, then it is not a problem. Can anyone suggest a solution on how to keep the text in the separate .js file?

I have a little start screen running and i want the image, which is acting as a button, to placed at a certain point, but when i try to it stays in the same place, and i don't know how i can get it to stay in the place i want it. Later, I changed the JQuery source link to be: http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.js then I refreshed the web page, and I could saw the returned value.

I am trying to run a python script which uses a binary file (xFiles.bin.addr_patched) created by a postlinker. However, I am getting this error. File "abc.py", line 74, in ParseCmd shutil.copy(gOptions.inputX, gWorkingXFile) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/shutil.py", line 89, in copy copymode(src, dst) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/shutil.py", line 66, in copymode os.chmod(dst, mode) OSError: [Errno 1] Operation not permitted: 'myPath/xFiles.bin.addr_patched' When I checked the permissions of this xFiles.bin, by ls-l, it shows that -rwxrwxrwx 1 nobody nogroup I presume the error is because this file was created by some other application, the python script I am running does not have access to it. Since I am beginner wrt ubuntu, I don't really know how to fix it. Any suggestions on how to fix this? SOLVED: As one of the answers Suggested : chown username:groupname file name fixes this issue

How to make a div expand vertically to wrpa the content within it?

I have a div which wraps a number of images that are generated dynamically. I don't know how high the list of images is. My problem is the div that contains the dynamically generated images doesn't behave like it is housing any content - I want it to extend to the height of the list of images. Each image is itself wrapped in a div. This is the wrapper div: .block { padding:10px; margin-top:10px; height:auto; background-color:#f9f9f9; } This is the markup dynamically generated for (one of) the images: <div class="block"> <div style="float: left; padding: 2px 2px 2px 2px;"><IMG SRC="45.jpg" BORDER="0"/></div> ..... expiring image assets referenced from stylesheets

So rails appends timestamps to CSS, JS and image files: image_tag 'foo.png' => <img src="foo.png?123123123123' /> # or somethin like that ...which is really useful for doing far-future expiration, etc. with Apache's help. But what about images referenced from stylesheets? They don't get an appended timestamp. So it seems to me that it's entirely possible to update one of those images, redeploy, and then not see the file change because the browser doesn't think it's been updated. Unless I'm missing something. If I'm not, is there a decent solution to this problem?
