• Joomla ImageBrowser Lightbox not working

  I've been using an image browser for Joomla called ImageBrowser. It's great - easy uploads, easy for clients to use, even handles zip file uploads. I have Joomla v. 1.5.15 installed and the newest version of this plugin as well on 3 or 4 of our sites with no fuss or issues. Recently, the ImageBrowser on one of our sites started acting strangely. It was as if the Lightbox effect that we should have disappeared completely. I compared the settings for the site to another and found they were identical. I couldn't find a solution in the documentation or forums. Here's the URL to look at: http://neda.us/photos?view=gallery&folder=BSU+12-5-09. You can compare that to another of our sites with the same plugin and settings at South Oak Floors dot COM. You should be able to click on a thumbnail and get a full size view of the image in a Lightbox. Any help much needed and much appreciated.

  Say I'm trying to test a simple Set class public IntSet : IEnumerable<int> { Add(int i) {...} //IEnumerable implementation... } And suppose I'm trying to test that no duplicate values can exist in the set. Granted, testing for expected conditions generically covers more cases - but it becomes very similar to implementing the logic again (which is both tedious and useless - you can't use the same code to check itself!). Basically I'm asking whether my tests should look like "insert 1, 2, 3 then check something about 3" or "insert 1, 2, 3 and check for something in general" EDIT - To help me understand, please state in your answer if you prefer OPTION 1 or OPTION 2 (or neither, or that it depends on the case, etc )

• Cannot perform an ORDERBY against my EF4 data

  I have a query hitting EF4 using STEs and I'm having an issue with user-defined sorting. In debugging this, I have removed the dynamic sorting and am hard-coding it and I still have the issue. If I swap/uncomment the var results = xxx lines in GetMyBusinesses(), my results are not sorted any differently - they are always sorting it ascendingly.   I want to check a svn url and to get the latest revision, then checkout it, I don't want to use HEAD because I will compare the latest revision to others. so I use "svn info" to get the "Last Changed Rev" for the url like this: D:\Project>svn info svn://.../branches/.../path Path: ...   Ok this is an extension of a question I asked about earlier yet this is the next step that is unclear to me. Everything else will be ready and this part is driving me mad! some members provided great help and I already made progress with that info, but this is just another obstacle. I am creating a booking object (as was suggested) that will have a start date and end date. each booking will also have a number of seats associated with it (that I require to reserve). The total available number of seats any given day 46 (as the total capacity of the hall is 46 seats). so in assumption that I have a booking to be made in the system, and start date is 1st jan and end date is 10th jan. The question is how can I check the remaining seats in all those days between the range to see if requested number could be hosted or not? and then when the second booking is made, it will have to see that the days in this range already have less than 46 and decrement further if possible to host the reservation. one of the members, and I appreciate his effort, gladly contributed a method to compare if this booking is after or before the existing bookings. • Conflict with @Html.LabelFor and W3C Validator?

  I have a model that I am using to present an index of a model from a database and have given a display name to some of the rows that may need spaces in them, (I.e. "weekstarting" in a db would be given a display name of "Week Starting"). So I set the display name for my model like this: [DisplayName("Week Starting")] public DateTime WeekStarting { get; set; } and then in the table headers for my table I use the following line of code to display the field name using its given display name: @Html.LabelFor(x => x.First().WeekStarting) The above all works fine. But I am using the W3C validator and it is giving me the following error for the example I have given: The for attribute of the label element must refer to a form control. Forgive me if it is obvious but what am I doing wrong here? I am not using a form I am simply displaying an index of items in a table. I have tried to look for an answer and saw someone suggest that the form controls being referred to need ids (even though I'm not using a form) but this would not be applicable in this instance because if I tried to set an id in the index it would be duplicated with each item in the index: foreach (var item in Model.Tbms) { <tr><td>@item.value</td><tr>.... would be repeated for each item, and also unsure where I would put the id in any case, the td? } Or is there a better way to label the field header, with my preferred display name in the first place? I guess I could just swap @Html.LabelFor... for Hard code field name but do I have to?

• c# How to find if two objects are equal

  Hi, I'm needing to know the best way to compare two objects and to find out if there equal. I'm overriding both GethashCode and Equals. So a basic class looks like: public class Test { public int Value { get; set; } public string String1 { get; set; } public string String2 { get; set; } public override int GetHashCode() { return Value ^ String1.GetHashCode() ^ String2.GetHashCode(); } public override bool Equals( object obj ) { return GetHashCode() == obj.GetHashCode(); } } So for testing purposes I created two objects: Test t = new Test() { Value = 1, String1 ="One", String2 = "One" }; Test t2 = new Test() { Value = 1, String1 = "Two", String2 = "Two" }; bool areEqual = t.Equals( t2 ); In testing this areEqual returns true event though both objects are different. I realise this is because String1 and String2 are the same value in each object and thus cancels each other out when hashing. Is there a better way off hashing object that the method I have that will resolve my issue?

I figure I could unarchive my class (which conforms to NSCoding) and just swap where my instance points to. To this end I use this code... • PHP: Three item validation comparison

  I have 3 featured product panels on the homepage, and I'm writing a CMS page for it. I'm trying to validate the items. They are selected via three <select> elements, featured1, featured2 and featured3. The default is <option value="0" selected>Select an element</option> I need to validate the $_POST to ensure that the user hasn't selected the same product for more than one of the panels. I have worked out that each $_POST needs to be $_POST['featuredN'] > 0 but I can't seem to find a logical way of processing the 7 potential outcomes. Using a logic table, where 1 is a set value. 1 2 3 ------- 0 0 0 1 1 1 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 1 1 0 0 1 1 If an item is 0, then I will not update it, but I want the user to be able to update a single item if needs be. I cannot find a logical way to see if the item is not 0, and then compare it to another item if that also is not 0. So far my colleague suggested, adding up the values. Which works to see if condition 1 0 0 0 is not met. I have a vague feeling that some form of recursive function might be in order, but I can't quite get my brain to help me on this one! So to the collective brain! :)

• jQuery and executing code until mouseout is called

  Good day all, I am tasked with building a slider for our site. Here is my goal: <div id="abc"> <div id="slider">...</div> </div> I need to move "slider" left 30px at a time when a button is hovered over, and right 30px when another button is hovered over. My problem is that there doesn't seem to be a reliable method for telling the code that the mouse hasn't left the are in question, unless there is something I did not think about or read yet. In other words, when the mouse is OVER the a button, the code to move "slider" left is executed until the mouseout is called. I'm not really sure how to do this. The only way I can think of is to look at the offsetTop and offsetLeft and offsetTop DOM properties and compare them to the mouse position, than run checks to see if the mouse is within the bounds of the box, and if not than it will stop the execution of code. Is there a better way to do this?

• Finding and marking the largest of three values in a two dimensional array

  I am working on a display screen for our office, and I can't seem to think of a good way to find the largest numerical value in a set of data in a two dimensional array. I've looked at using max() and also asort() but they don't seem to cope with a two dimensional array. I'm returning my data through our mysql class, so the rows are returned in a two dimensional array. Array( [0] => Array( [am] => 12, [sales] => 981), [1] => Array( [am] => 43, [sales] => 1012), [2] => Array( [am] => 17, [sales] => 876) ) I need to output a class when foreaching the data in my table for the AM with the highest sales value. Short of comparing them all in if statements. I have tried to get max() on the array, but it returns an array, as it's look within the dimension. When pointing it at a specific dimension it returns the key not the value. I figured that I could asort() the array and pop the top value off, store it in a variable and then compare against that in my foreach() loop, but that seems to have trouble sorting across two dimensions. Lastly, I figured that I could foreach() the values, comparing them against the previous one each time, untill I found the largest. This approach however means storing every value, luckily only three, but then comparing against them all again. Surely there must be a simpler way to achieve this, short of converting it into a single dimension array, then doing an asort() on that?

  This is a question for an university assignment. I was given three algorithms to calculate the GCD that I already did. My problem is getting the Rprof results to a plot so I can compare them side by side. • Best way to parse this particular string using awk / sed?

  Hi, I need to get a particular version string from a file (call it version.lst) and use it to compare another in a shell script. For example sake, the file contains lines that look like this: V1.000 -- build date and other info here -- APP1 V1.000 -- build date and other info here -- APP2 V1.500 -- build date and other info here -- APP3 .. and so on. Let's say I am trying to grab the first version (in this case, V1.000) from APP1. Obviously, the versions can change and I want this to be dynamic. What I have right now works: var = `cat version.lst | grep " -- APP1" | grep -Eo V[0-9].[0-9]{3}` Pipe to grep will get the line containing APP1 and the second pipe to grep will get the version string. However, I hear grep is not the way to do this so I'd like to learn the best way using awk or sed. Any ideas? I am new to both and haven't found a tutorial easy enough to learn the syntax of it. Do they support egrep? Thanks!

• g++ fails mysteriously only if a .h is in a certain directory

  I'm experiencing an extremely weird problem in a fresh OSX 10.4.11 + Xcode 2.5 installation. I've reduced it to a minimal test case. Here's test.cpp: #include "macros.h" int main (void) { return 1; } And here's macros.h: #ifndef __JUST_TESTING__ #define __JUST_TESTING__ template<typename T> void swap (T& pT1, T& pT2) { T pTmp = pT1; pT1 = pT2; pT2 = pTmp; } #endif //__JUST_TESTING__ This compiles and works just fine if both files are in the same directory. HOWEVER, if I put macros.h in /usr/include/gfc2 (it's part of a custom library I use) and change the #include in test.cpp, compilation fails with this error : /usr/include/gfc2/macros.h:4: error: template with C linkage I researched that error and most of the comments point to a "dangling extern C", which doesn't seem to be the case at all. I'm at a complete loss here. Is g++ for some reason assuming everything in /usr/include/gfc2 is C even though it's included from a .cpp file that doesn't say extern "C" anywhere? Any ideas? EDIT : It does compile if I use the full path in the #include, ie #include "/usr/include/gfc2/macros.h" EDIT2 : It's not including the wrong header. I've verified this using cpp, g++ -E, and renaming macros.h to foobarmacros.h

  I have an ASPX page (with VB Codebehind). I would like to extend the GridView class to show the header / footer when no rows are returned. I found a C# example online (link) (source). However, I cannot convert it to VB because it uses typed events (which are not legal in VB). I have tried several free C# to VB.NET converters online, but none have worked. Please convert the example to VB.NET or provide an alternate method of extending the GridView class. Notes / Difficulties: If you get an error with DataView objects, specify the type as System.Data.DataView and the type comparison could be the following: If data.[GetType]() Is GetType(System.Data.DataView) Then Since the event MustAddARow cannot have a type in VB (and RaiseEvent event doesn't have a return value), how can I compare it to Nothing in the function OnMustAddARow()? • Are there any free Xml Diff/Merge tools available?

  I have several config files in my .net applications which I would like to merge application settings elements etc. I was about to begin doing it manually as I usually do, however thought there must be an XML diff GUI tool available somewhere. The tool would be able to go to the element level to compare and display the differences etc. However Google gave no substantive free tool results and no hints for anything of value. Is such a tool available? That is very useful? For free? Thanks in advance. :) Edit: Here is a bit of clarification of the functionality that would turn my error-prone, tedious manual job into a 1-minute simpler task (and potential to automate): In KDiff3, you can do a diff/merge of entire directories. There is a hierarchical diff which is very accurate, user-friendly and clear. I was interested in finding a similar solution, however instead of directory hierarchy, an XML element hierarchy. If there is no such open source software, I am considering creating one on CodePlex to provide this functionality.

• jQuery select by two name roots and perform one of two function depending on which root was selected

  I'm trying to get this code to work in jQuery and I'm trying to make sure that for each iteration of each root element, its alternate root element for that same iteration doesn't contain anything. Otherwise it sets the .val("") property to an empty string. Looking for a simple solution if possible using search, find, or swap. Each matching number is on the same row level and the same iteration count. I have two input types of input text elements with two different root names like so: 1st Root is "rootA" <input type="text" name="rootA1" /> <input type="text" name="rootA2 /> <input type="text" name="rootA3" /> 2nd Root is "rootB" <input type="text" name="rootB1" /> <input type="text" name="rootB2 /> <input type="text" name="rootB3" /> On blur if any of rootA is called call function fnRootA();. On blur if any of rootB is called call function fnRootB();. • Should I learn two (or more) programming languages in parallel?

  I found entries on this site about learning a new programming language, however, I have not come across anything that talks about the advantages and disadvantages of learning two languages at the same time. Let's say my goal is to learn two new languages in a year. I understand that the definition of learning a new language is different for everyone and you can probably never know everything about a language. I believe in most cases the following things are enough to include the language in your resume and say that you are proficient in it (list is not in any particular order): Know its syntax so you can write a simple program in it Compare its underlying concepts with concepts of other languages Know best practices Know what libraries are available Know in what situations to use it Understand the flow of a more complex program At least know most of what you do not know I would probably look for a good book and pick an open source project for both of these languages to start with. My questions: Is it best to spend 5 months learning language#1 then 5 months learning language#2, or should you mix the two. Mixing them I mean you work on them in parallel. Should you pick two languages that are similar or different? Are there any advantages/disadvantages of let's say learning Lisp in tandem with Ruby? Is it a good idea to pick two languages with similar syntax or would it be too confusing? Please tell me what your experiences are regarding this. Does it make a difference if you are a beginner or a senior programmer?

• Runtime Error 1004 using Select with several workbooks

  I have an Excel workbook which pulls out data from two other workbooks. Since the data changes hourly there is the possibility that this macro is used more than one time a day for the same data. So I just want to select all previous data to this date period and want to delete them. Later on the data will be copied in anyway. But as soon as I want to use WBSH.Range(Cells(j, "A"), Cells(lastRow - 1, "M")).Select the code stopes with Error 1004 Application-defined or object-defined error. Followed just a snippet of the code with the relevant part. What is wrong here? • C++ and its type system: How to deal with data with multiple types?

  "Introduction" I'm relatively new to C++. I went through all the basic stuff and managed to build 2-3 simple interpreters for my programming languages. The first thing that gave and still gives me a headache: Implementing the type system of my language in C++ Think of that: Ruby, Python, PHP and Co. have a lot of built-in types which obviously are implemented in C. So what I first tried was to make it possible to give a value in my language three possible types: Int, String and Nil. I came up with this: enum ValueType { Int, String, Nil }; class Value { public: ValueType type; int intVal; string stringVal; }; Yeah, wow, I know. It was extremely slow to pass this class around as the string allocator had to be called all the time. Next time I've tried something similar to this: enum ValueType { Int, String, Nil }; extern string stringTable[255]; class Value { public: ValueType type; int index; }; I would store all strings in stringTable and write their position to index. If the type of Value was Int, I just stored the integer in index, it wouldn't make sense at all using an int index to access another int, or? Anyways, the above gave me a headache too. After some time, accessing the string from the table here, referencing it there and copying it over there grew over my head - I lost control. I had to put the interpreter draft down. Now: Okay, so C and C++ are statically typed. How do the main implementations of the languages mentioned above handle the different types in their programs (fixnums, bignums, nums, strings, arrays, resources,...)? What should I do to get maximum speed with many different available types? How do the solutions compare to my simplified versions above?
