  Hi, I'm rather new to Haskell. The problem is to find the sum of all even Fibonacci numbers not greater than 4 million. I can't use lists. If I understand correctly, the below solution is wrong, because it uses lists: my_sum = sum $ filter (even) $ takeWhile (< 4000000) fibs Where fibs is the list of all Fibonacci numbers. Somehow, I find it difficult not to think in Haskell in terms of lists. Could anyone guide me to a solution to this problem? Regards

• C# MDX RenderToSurface, where to reset after device is lost?

  Hi, I got a problem with the RenderToSurface class. When I resize the Form of my Device, the Draw method is still called, but doesnt throw an Exception, it looks like this: device.Clear(ClearFlags.Target, Color.Red, 0, 0); device.BeginScene(); // here is out commented code device.EndScene(); device.Present(); In another method, I wrote this: renderToSurface.BeginScene(surfaces[currentIndex]); // here is out commented code renderToSurface.EndScene(Filter.None); and this method seems to throw a nullpointer exception when I resize the window; So my question is: - where to reset / restore / handle the renderToSurface class? • Geolocation under firefox 3.6 requires Proxy Authentication?

  I am trying to share my location on geolocation enabled pages from firefox 3.6, but doesn't seem to get any kind of success or failures. When I wrote my custom js containing navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition(func1,func2), the success callback isn't called at all. When I tamper the http requests on firefox, the request to https://www.google.com/loc/json returns with status: 407 [Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy filter is denied. )]... Yes, my network is behind a proxy server. But the same works with Chrome. I didn't try other browsers yet.

• How to Look Up Email by Full Name in Active Directory?

  I want to search for a user's email by using Active Directory. Available is the user's full name (ex. "John Doe" for the email with an email "[email protected]"). From what I've searched, this comes close to what I'm looking to do -- except that the Filter is set to "SAMAccountName", which is not what I have. Unless I'm misunderstanding, I just need to pick the right attribute and toss in the full name name in the same way. Unfortunately, I don't know what this attribute is, apparently no one has had to ask about searching for information in this manner, and that is a pretty big list (msdn * microsoft * com/en-us/library/ms675090(v=VS.85) * aspx, stackoverflow didn't let me link 2 hyperlinks because I don't have 10 rep) of attributes. Does anyone know how to obtain the user's email address through an Active Directory lookup by using the user's full name?

• NDIS or TDI for packet redirection to a local proxy

  I need to develop a transparent filter to redirect outgoing HTTP packets to a local proxy, to do transparent content filtering. Which is the best technology to do it, TDI or NDIS IM? My main constraint is to avoid conflicts with antivirus software, which also do some kind of packet redirection to inspect HTTP content (I don't know whether antivirus programs use TDI, NDIS IM, or both). Rather than writing the driver myself, actually, I'm also considering two commercial SDKs for packet filtering/modification: one uses a TDI driver while the other uses a NDIS IM driver, so that's the origin of my question (I was only aware of NDIS IM, before looking at the two SDKs).

  I have a WSS 3.0 site that I use for change management. There are three primary lists on it -- a bug list, an enhancement list, and a release list. The release list has two lookup columns that provide a list of bugs and enhancements that are included in that particular release. I am trying to figure out how to filter the bug and enhancement list to include only items that have not already been included in another release. All the docs and examples I have seen regarding filtered lookups deal with a query on the list itself. For my situation, and if this was a SQL query, I would need to use a LEFT JOIN to generate the list.

• Cocoa Core Data - Efficient Related Entities Counts

  I am working on my first iPhone application and I've hit a wall. I'm trying to develop a 'statistics' page for a three entity relationship. My entities are the following: Department - Name, Address, Building, etc. People - Name, Gender (BOOL), Phone, etc If I have fetched a specific department how do I filter those results and only return people that are Male (Gender == 0)? If I do NSLog(@"%d", [department.people count]); I get the correct number of people in that department so I know I'm in the neighborhood. I know I could re-fetch and modify the predicate each time but with 20+ stats in my app that seems inefficient. Thanks for any advice!

But I still not found an elegant way to filter UI components (e.g. widgets, form elements, tables, etc) using the current user roles without contaminate the view with business logic. same applies for model binding. Example Form: Product Creation Fields: Name Price Discount Roles: Role Administrator Is allowed to see and modify the Name field Is allowed to see and modify the Price field Is allowed to see and modify the Discount Role Administrator assistant Is allowed to see and modify the Name Is allowed to see and modify the Price Fields shown in each role are different, and model binding needs to ignore the discount field for 'Administrator assistant' role. • Image gallery control for ASP.Net with filtering capabilities

  I'm writing an ASP.Net application which needs to display a large number of thumbnails, preferably in a paginated format. These thumbnails will be stored on the server's hard disk, but will have their filenames listed in a SQL Server database. What I want to do is to be able to filter the images being displayed based on criteria within the database. I've looked at the NotesForGallery control, which I really like, but it doesn't seem to have a way to do that. --if I'm wrong, please correct me. Are there any other image gallery type controls, preferably free, that can do what I need? I'm hoping someone can recommend a control or solution that will point me in the right direction.   I need a list of all the countries in the world, with one lat/long coordinate for the country. I had a look at GeoNames, but all I can seem to find are lists that have the countries as well as cities in the same list. I guess I can just parse it and filter out the countries, but I was hoping to avoid that. Basically, what I need; Country name - Lat/long coordinate (some sort of center of the country) It doesn't need to say anything about continent, but I wouldn't mind if it did. _L

  I am maintaining this servlet that has a HttpServletResponse response that replies back to the client an XML message. I want to take the XML message and convert it to JSON, then send the JSON back. I want to avoid writing my own JSON converter if possible. Does anyone have a good method of doing this? I googled for this: http://pvoss.wordpress.com/2009/02/26/servlet-filter-to-convert-xml-to-json/ , which is exactly what I want but they are using a hacked dom4j jar which doesn't help me.

• Looking for an elegant way to store one-to-many relationship in coredata when order is important

  I've been trying to come up with a way to solve my problem, but every solution I can think of is messy and makes me want to retch. I have a one-to-many relationship, consisting of a Team object that can have many Member objects. When I built my data model using Xcode, I was given the default NSSet in which to store the member objects, Unfortunately Sets are not ordered and I need to preserve the order of the Member objects and I need to know if there are empty spaces between Members. I thought of Using an NSArray in place of the NSSet and creating a dummy Member object in my data store that I could use to mark vacant a spot between to Member objects, but that solution really feels like too much of a hack to me. Since I'll always have to filter out this dummy Member from any queries. An NSDictionary would be perfect as I could store the Member object references and their positions as Object-Key pairs, (taking care of both order and vacancies) but apparently CoreData does not support NSDictionary. Has anyone had a similar need, and devised a simple solution?

• Boost::thread mutex issue: Try to lock, access violation

  I am currently learning how to multithread with c++, and for that im using boost::thread. I'm using it for a simple gameengine, running three threads. Two of the threads are reading and writing to the same variables, which are stored inside something i call PrimitiveObjects, basicly balls, plates, boxes etc. But i cant really get it to work, i think the problem is that the two threads are trying to access the same memorylocation at the same time, i have tried to avoid this using mutex locks, but for now im having no luck, this works some times, but if i spam it, i end up with this exception: First-chance exception at 0x00cbfef9 in TTTTT.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0xdddddded. Unhandled exception at 0x77d315de in TTTTT.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0xdddddded.   Hi, I have an NSArray which contains information from an RSS feed on dogs, such as [dog types], [dog age] and [dog size]. At the moment my UITableView simply displays each cell on each dog and within the cell lists [dog types], [dog age] and [dog size]. I want to be able to allow users of my app to "sort" this data based on the dog name, dog size or dog age when they press a UIButton in the top nav-bar.   Hello, I am trying so write a bit of code that will search for a given point on a map, but in a given arc of a compass bearing. e.g. 45 degress (north-east), 20 degrees either side. So far I have got a SQL command that will give me the results in a given radius, need some help on how to filter it to a direction.   Let me first describe my situation, I am working on a Linux platform and have a collection of .bmp files that add one to the picture number from filename0022.bmp up to filename0680.bmp. So a total of 658 pictures. I want to be able to run each of these pictures through a .exe file that operates on the picture then kicks out the file to a file specified by the user, it also has some threshold arguments: lower, upper. So the typical call for the executable is: ./filter inputfile outputfile lower upper Is there a way that I can loop this call over all the files just from the terminal or by creating some kind of bash script? My problem is similar to this: Execute a command over multiple files with a batch file but this time I am working in a Linux command line terminal. Thank you for your help, Luke H

  I'm trying to get latest inserted id from a table using this code: $id = $tbl->fetchAll (array('public=1'), 'id desc'); but it's always returning "1" any ideas? update: I've just discovered toArray();, which retrieves all the data from fetchAll. The problem is, I only need the ID. My current code looks like this: $rowsetArray = $id->toArray(); $rowCount = 1; foreach ($rowsetArray as $rowArray) { foreach ($rowArray as $column => $value) { if ($column="id") {$myid[$brr] = $value;} //echo"\n$myid[$brr]"; } ++$rowCount; ++$brr; } Obviously, I've got the if ($column="id") {$myid[$brr] = $value;} thing wrong. Can anyone point me in the right direction? An aternative would be to filter ID's from fetchAll. Is that possible?
