  • Match over multiple lines perl regular expression

    - by John
    Hi, I have a file like this: 01 00 01 14 c0 00 01 10 01 00 00 16 00 00 00 64 00 00 00 65 00 00 01 07 40 00 00 22 68 61 6c 2e 6f 70 65 6e 65 74 2e 63 6f 6d 3b 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 32 3b 30 00 00 00 00 01 08 40 00 00 1e 68 61 6c 2e 6f 70 65 6e 65 74 2d 74 65 6c 65 63 6f 6d 2e 6c 61 6e 00 00 00 00 01 28 40 00 00 21 72 65 61 6c 6d 31 2e 6f 70 65 6e 65 74 2d 74 65 6c 65 63 6f 6d 2e 6c 61 6e 00 00 00 00 00 01 25 40 00 00 1e 68 61 6c 2e 6f 70 65 6e 65 74 2d 74 65 6c 65 63 6f 6d 2e 6c 61 6e 00 00 00 00 01 1b 40 00 00 20 72 65 61 6c 6d 2e 6f 70 65 6e 65 74 2d 74 65 6c 65 63 6f 6d 2e 6c 61 6e 00 00 01 02 40 00 00 0c 01 00 00 16 00 00 01 a0 40 00 00 0c 00 00 00 01 00 00 01 9f 40 00 00 0c 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 16 40 00 00 0c 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 bb 40 00 00 28 00 00 01 c2 40 00 00 0c 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 bc 40 00 00 13 31 39 37 37 31 31 31 32 32 33 31 00 I am reading the file and then finding certain octets and replacing them with tags: while(<FH>){ $line =~ s/(00 00 00 64)/<incr4> /g; $line =~ s/(00 00 00 65)/<incr4> /g; $line =~ s/(30 30 30 30 30 32)/<incr6ascii:999999:0>/g; $line =~ s/(31 31 32 32 33 31)/<incr6ascii:999999:0>/g; print OUTPUT $line; # } So for example, 00 00 00 64 would be replaced by the tag. This was working fine, but it doesn't seem to able to match over multiple lines any more. For example the pattern 31 31 32 32 33 31 runs over multiple lines, and the regular expression doesn't seem to catch it. I tried using /m /s pattern modifiers to ignore new lines but they didn't match it either. The only way around it I can come up with, is to read the whole file into a string using: undef $/; my $whole_file = <FH>; my $line = $whole_file; $line =~ s/(00 00 00 64)/<incr4> /g; $line =~ s/(00 00 00 65)/<incr4> /g; $line =~ s/(30 30 30 30 30 32)/<incr6ascii:999999:0>/g; $line =~ s/(31 31 32 32 33 31)/<incr6ascii:999999:0>/g; print OUTPUT $line; This works, the tags get inserted correctly, but the structure of the file is radically altered. It is all dumped out on a single line. I would like to retain the structure of the file as it appears here. Any ideas as to how I might do this? /john

  • Regular expression

    - by atno
Hi I have an array that its first element might contains something like [some text, here. That's some text] I'm trying to figure out a pattern to check if such string exists and if not create it but having problem with making the pattern. Here's what I've done so far $pattern = '/^\[*\]$/'; if(preg_match($pattern,$exploded[0])){ $name = array_shift($exploded); }else{ $name = "[Unnamed import] - " .gmdate("His"); } But I always get [Unnamed import] - 032758 even when I'm sure that pattern match

  • Count number of occurrences of a pattern in a file (even on same line)

    - by jrdioko
When searching for number of occurrences of a string in a file, I generally use: grep pattern file | wc -l However, this only finds one occurrence per line, because of the way grep works. How can I search for the number of times a string appears in a file, regardless of whether they are on the same or different lines? Also, what if I'm searching for a regex pattern, not a simple string? How can I count those, or, even better, print each match on a new line?

  • Will making players pay a virtual currency before entering a match discourage them from playing?

    - by Bane
I'm making a multiplayer match-making game, and by my current design, people will need to pay a small fee before joining a match. At the end of the match, the team that won will get the money. That will be a virtual currency, but still, will it discourage people to enter matches? I introduced it to make the matches matter more, because there's always a fear that you will loose your investments. I'm not talking about anything big here, but even a small amount might have a similar psychological effect as a bigger one.

  • Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx' doesn't match any identity in any profile

    - by Cal
I get this build error when I build my iPhone project to run on my device: Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx' doesn't match any identity in any profile My development code signing certificate expired so I got a new one. On my first attempt I created a new CSR and got the message above. The second time I reused my original CSR and got the same result. Another strange thing is the new certificate has an extra string with brackets after my name in the "common name" when I look at it using Keychain Access like this: iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx (3BDUAJYC9Q) My original certificate didn't have that. I have Xcode Version 3.1.3 Component versions Xcode IDE: 1191.0 Xcode Core: 1192.0 ToolSupport: 1186.0 Does anyone know how to solve this?

  • RegEx match open tags except XHTML self-contained tags

    - by Jeff
I need to match all of these opening tags: <p> <a href="foo"> But not these: <br /> <hr class="foo" /> I came up with this and wanted to make sure I've got it right. I am only capturing the a-z. <([a-z]+) *[^/]*?> I believe it says: Find a less-than, then Find (and capture) a-z one or more times, then Find zero or more spaces, then Find any character zero or more times, greedy, except /, then Find a greater-than Do I have that right? And more importantly, what do you think? =) EDIT: Hmm, which answer to mark as correct? For the record, ALL the answers are appreciated. Many thanks!

  • regex to match trailing whitespace, but not lines which are entirely whitespace (indent placeholders

    - by Tim
I've been trying to construct a ruby regex which matches trailing spaces - but not indentation placeholders - so I can gsub them out. I had this /\b[\t ]+$/ and it was working a treat until I realised it only works when the line ends are [a-zA-Z]. :-( So I evolved it into this /(?!^[\t ]+)[\t ]+$/ and it seems like it's getting better, but it still doesn't work properly. I've spent hours trying to get this to work to no avail. Please help. Here's some text test so it's easy to throw into Rubular, but the indent lines are getting stripped so it'll need a few spaces and/or tabs. Once lines 3 & 4 have spaces back in, it shouldn't match on lines 3-5, 7, 9. some test test some test test some other test (text) some other test (text) likely here{ dfdf } likely here{ dfdf } and this ; and this ; Alternatively, is there an simpler / more elegant way to do this?

  • Regex to match the first file in a rar archive file set in Python

    - by mridang
I need to uncompress all the files in a directory and for this I need to find the first file in the set. I'm currently doing this using a bunch of if statements and loops. Can i do this this using regex? Here's a list of files that i need to match: yes.rar yes.part1.rar yes.part01.rar yes.part001.rar yes.r01 yes.r001 These should NOT be matched: no.part2.rar no.part02.rar no.part002.rar no.part011.rar no.r002 no.r02 I found a similar regex on this thread but it seems that Python doesn't support varible length lookarounds. A single line regex would be complicated but I'll document it well and it's not a problem. It's just one of those problems you beat your heap up, over. Thanks in advance guys. :)

  • case-insensitive regexp match on non-english text in perl cgi script

    - by jonny
ok. I have list of catalog paths and need to filter out some of them. Match pattern comes in non-Unicode encoding. Tried following: require 5.004; use POSIX qw(locale_h); my $old_locale = setlocale(LC_ALL); setlocale(LC_ALL, "ru_RU.cp1251"); @{$data -> {doc_folder_rights}} = grep { $_->{doc_folder} =~/$_REQUEST{q}/i; # catalog path pattern in $_REQUEST{q} } @{$data -> {doc_folder_rights}}; setlocale(LC_ALL, $old_locale); What I need is case-insensitive regexp pattern matching when pattern contains russsian letters.

  • no match for operator= using a std::vector

    - by Max
I've got a class declared like this: class Level { private: std::vector<mapObject::MapObject> features; (...) }; and in one of its member functions I try to iterate through that vector like this: vector<mapObject::MapObject::iterator it; for(it=features.begin(); it<features.end(); it++) { /* loop code */ } This seems straightforward to me, but g++ gives me this error: src/Level.cpp:402: error: no match for ‘operator=’ in ‘it = ((const yarl::level::Level*)this)-yarl::level::Level::features.std::vector<_Tp, _Alloc::begin [with _Tp = yarl::mapObject::MapObject, _Alloc = std::allocator<yarl::mapObject::MapObject>]()’ /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_iterator.h:669: note: candidates are: __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<yarl::mapObject::MapObject*,std::vector & __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<yarl::mapObject::MapObject*,std::vector >::operator=(const __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<yarl::mapObject::MapObject*, ``std::vector<yarl::mapObject::MapObject, std::allocator<yarl::mapObject::MapObject> > >&) Anyone know why this is happening?

  • Match beginning of words in Mysql for UTF8 strings

    - by ankimal
Hi, I m trying to match beignning of words in a mysql column that stores strings as varchar. Unfortunately, REGEXP does not seem to work for UTF-8 strings as mentioned here So, select * from names where name REGEXP '[[:<:]]Aandre'; does not work if I have name like Foobar Aándreas However, select * from names where name like '%andre%' matches the row I need but does not guarantee beginning of words matches. Is it better to do the like and filter it out on the application side ? Any other solutions?

  • Scala wont pattern match with java.lang.String and Case Class

    - by Stefan
Hello fellow Scala Programmers I have been working with Scala for some month now, however I have a problem with some properly basic stuff, I am hoping you will help my out with it. case class PersonClass(name: String, age: Int) object CaseTester { def main(args:Array[String]) { val string = "hej" string match { case e:String => println(string) case PersonClass => println(string) } } } When I am doing like this I get error: pattern type is incompatible with expected type; found : object PersonClass required: java.lang.String case PersonClass = println(string) And if I then change the second line in the pattern matching to the following: case e:PersonClass => println(string) I then get the error: error: scrutinee is incompatible with pattern type; found : PersonClass required: java.lang.String case e:PersonClass = println(string) However if I change the string definition to the following it compiles fine in both cases. val string:AnyRef = "hej"
