  • Send an E-mail Quickly with the GmailThis! Bookmarklet

    Sometimes you need to send out a quick e-mail for a project that you are working on, something really important that you just remembered, or perhaps just a note to yourself. If you use Gmail and like keeping things simple then join us as we look at the GmailThis! Bookmarklet. GmailThis! in Action To get set up all that you need to do is visit the webpage (link provided below) and drag the bookmarklet to your “Bookmarks Toolbar”. For our example we decided to go with the “personal note” approach. As you can see here we selected/highlighted a portion of the text and then clicked on our new bookmarklet. The bookmarklet will automatically copy and paste the name of the webpage, the URL, and any text that you selected/highlighted into the new e-mail. A nice feature that we liked was that it opened in a new temporary window to help focus on composing our letter. This is what you will see when you have finished your letter and clicked “Send”. The window will automatically close itself after a few seconds so that you do not even have to worry with it afterwards. Looking at our “Inbox” there is our new e-mail looking oh so nice. Conclusion If you need to send out a quick e-mail using your Gmail account then this bookmarklet makes it as quick and simple as possible.   • Add a Contextual Menu to WebView

    An easy one, I think: I want to add a contextual menu to a WebView. In IB, I added a NSMenu to the NIB, connected it to the WebView's menu outlet, launched and expected to be able to control-click in the WebView and see the pop-up menu. The only item I saw on the contextual menu is "reload". I can do the same steps but connect the Menu to some other view and it works as expected. Why doesn't the menu work the same when connect to the webview's menu outlet? Thanks

  • Ninject Contextual Binding: Where do I get Ninject.Conditions.dll

    I've read about ninjects contextual binding here : http://ninject.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Contextual%20Binding and am trying to get it working in my project. The docs state that I need to add a reference to Ninject.Conditions.Dll which I do not have. Does anybody know where to get this? I've tried over at github : https://github.com/ninject/ninject I used the download link to get the 2.0.1.0 sources and managed to build them but no dll. I found a similar question here : Where can I find ninject.web.mvc.dll? and an answer with a link to a build server. I followed the link and I get a login request for team city. I don't have an account.

    Using the OpenPOP .net client for getting messages from Gmail. I'm wondering how I can get only the new messages? Currently, I get the atom feed and then get as many emails as the feed has with the OpenPOP client (starting from the first).     I have a client who wants his custom-written CRM to be able to access his sales people's emails so that, effectively, a history of email conversations between customer and salesperson is stored inside the CRM's database. The CRM is written in VB 2008 and the database is SQL Server 2008. The only email these people use, in the shop and on the road, is GMAIL. Each sales person has their own GMAIL address. Thats how they operate. If they're on the road and respond to a customer's email inquiry about a product, they would like that email conversation to be stored in a table in the database. I think thats the part I cant wrap my head around. How to get access to the email data (knowing the user id and password) and doing so from VB 2008

  • How can I log into gmail in a script/program using HTTPS?

    My teacher has given me as an assignment to log into gmail and then send one e-mail or read the list of unread e-mails, but I can't use IMAP/POP3/SMTP or anything that isn't HTTP or HTTPS. I've tried looking for libraries in Ruby/Java to do it but nothing really worked for me. I tried looking at the gmail source code page but I couldn't really understand what was going on. The page seems to call a post method on a link, but sniffing the packets what I saw was a GET apparently using a session generated using the info I send. So sending it "raw" didn't work either. I've no idea what to do now.

  • Passing contextual info to Views in ASP.NET MVC

    I wonder - what is the best way to supply contextual (i.e. not related to any particular view, but to all views at the same time) info to a view (or to master page)? Consider the following scenario. Suppose we have an app that supports multiple UI languages. User can switch them via UI's widgets (something like tabs at the top of the page). Each language is rendered as a separate tab. Tab for the current language should not be rendered. To address these requirements I'm planning to have a javascript piece that will hide current's language tab on the client. To do this, I need current's language tab Id on the client. So, I need some way of passing the Id to master page (for it to be 'fused' into the js script). The best thing I can think of is that all my ViewModels should inherit some ViewModeBase that has a field to hold current language tab Id. Then, whatever View I'm rendering, this Id will always be available for the master page's hiding script. However, I'm concerned that this ViewModelBase can potentially grow in an uncontrolled fashion as number of such pieces of contextual info (like current language) will grow.. Any ideas?

For example, I saw this line in a gadget: options(HISTORY_OPTIONS_NAME) = items_.join("|"); which looks like it's assigning to a function call. That's just not OK in JavaScript... what language is this? And what exactly is that line doing?

    Hi, I have a rails in one of the slices at Slicehost. I've setup postfix (sendmail) to send emails from my rails app. All emails to Google Apps domain (to company setup google hosted paid email id) are getting delivered properly (but to spam folder).
