    Hi, Every RAM must have stack and heap (like CS,ES,DS,SS 4 segments).but is there like stack size in iphone,is only heap available?some tutorial say when we increase stack size , heap will be decreased,when we increase heap size ,stack will be decreased ...is it true..? or fixed stack size or fixed heap size ? any help please?

  • What does this IIS memory dump mean? (reserved memory)

    My w3wp's are recycling every 60 seconds after using too much virtual memory. I ran the IIS Debug Diagnostic Tool to capture a memory dump before the worker process recycled; the most interesting part seems to be this: Virtual Allocation Summary Reserved memory 4.88 GBytes Committed memory 328.27 MBytes Mapped memory 17.36 MBytes Reserved block count 524 blocks Committed block count 1082 blocks Mapped block count 43 blocks So that 4.88 GBytes of reserved memory seems really big. But neither the DotNetMemoryAnalysis or the regular Memory Pressure Analyzer seems to tell me where that 4.88 GB went. How can I find out?

  • Do CDNs actually dump the data to the client or pass the URL of the content?

    I am curious, say for example: Facebook is the client of Akamai CDN. So, now when I login to my FaceBook page, I see all the content (vid, image, text etc) and I click on a video to view it. Now, Facebook is the client to Akami to get the content. So, when a request is made from Facebook to Akami, does Akamai dump the vid/image from their data centers to Facebook's data centers where they reside for a while (depending on their heuristics) and flushed after some time? Or, I see that video (stream it) directly from Akamai's server? UPDATE Data resides in CDN permanently (agreed), but is a copy of the content sent to Facebook's data centers too

  • Any freeware/ideas for getting Windows 2008's backups to dump to tape after backing up to disk?

    I have a Windows 2008 R2 server that is being backed up to an external ISCSI drive nightly. The problem is, we'd like to use our Tape Drive (VXA 320) that Windows sees just fine to take those backups in the "WindowsImageBackup" folder and dump them to tape once a month so that we can at least have something offsite. I really don't want to go through the hassle of licensing BackupExec or similar if possible. All I'm really after is some kind of copy utility that can copy the "WindowsImageBackup" folder over to the tape drive. Ideas? P.S. If by doing this it wouldn't matter for a restore regardless, then let me know, but I would assume I could copy the folder back over to the server and then have Windows Backup find it again.

    I am restoring a 30GB database from a mysqldump file to an empty database on a new server. When running the SQL from the dump file, the restore starts very quickly and then starts to get slower and slower. Individual inserts are now taking 15+ seconds. The tables are MyISAM. The server has no other active connections. SHOW PROCESSLIST; only shows the insert from the restore (and the show processlist itself). Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the dramatic slowdown? Are there any MySQL variables that I can change to speed the restore while it is progressing?

    Hi all, I know a little about profiling, but what I am particularlly insterest in, is what has all the memory when I get these heap over flow exceptions. I will start getting them after about a hour of debugging. I am hoping there is some sort of dump or something, that I can use to get a list of what instances are around at the time the program starts. By the way, sorry if this is a lazy question. I have been designing my application primarily using heap variables (coming from C), so I've designed structures like this: QList<Criteria*> _Criteria; // ... Criteria *c = new Criteria(....); _Criteria.append(c); All through my program, I'm passing pointers to specific Criteria, or often the list. So, I have a function declared like this: QList<Criteria*> Decision::addCriteria(int row,QString cname,QString ctype); Criteria * Decision::getCriteria(int row,int col) which inserts a Criteria into a list, and returns the list so my GUI can display it. I'm wondering if I should have used references, somehow. Since I'm always wanting that exact Criteria back, should I have done: QList<Criteria> _Criteria; // .... Criteria c(....); _Criteria.append(c); ... QList<Criteria>& Decision::addCriteria(int row,QString cname,QString ctype); Criteria& Decision::getCriteria(int row,int col) (not sure if the latter line is syntactically correct yet, but you get the drift). All these items are specific, quasi-global items that are the core of my program. So, the question is this: I can certainly allocate/free all my memory w/o an issue in the method I'm using now, but is there are more C++ way? Would references have been a better choice (it's not too late to change on my side). TIA Mike

    I have a ELF shared object with a symbol initialized to a value. I want to know what the value of a symbol is. I know objdump -T will give me the symbol's address and length but I need the value: $ arm-linux-androideabi-objdump -T libcrypto.so.1.0.0 | grep -i FIPS_signature 001a9668 g DO .bss 00000014 FIPS_signature However, hexdump knows nothing about ELF sections, offsets and virtual addresses, so I can't use the information: $ hexdump -v -x -n 0x14 -s 0x001a9668 libcrypto.so.1.0.0 $ How do I dump the value of the symbol?     I would like to create a copy of a database with approximately 40 InnoDB tables and around 1.5GB of data with mysqldump and MySQL 5.1. What are the best parameters (ie: --single-transaction) that will result in the quickest dump and load of the data? As well, when loading the data into the second DB, is it quicker to: 1) pipe the results directly to the second MySQL server instance and use the --compress option or 2) load it from a text file (ie: mysql < my_sql_dump.sql)

  • How do I get callgrind to dump source line information?

    I'm trying to profile a shared library on GNU/Linux which does real-time audio processing, so performance is important. I run another program which hooks it up to the audio input and output of my system, and profile that with callgrind. Looking at the results in KCacheGrind, I get great information about what functions are taking up most of my time. However, it won't let me look at the line by line information, and instead says I need to compile it with debugging symbols and run the profiling again. The program which I am profiling is not compiled with debug symbols, but the library is. And I know this, because interestingly, source code annotations for cachegrind work fine. When I run callgrind, it says the default is to dump source line information, but it just isn't doing that. Is there some way I could force it to, or figure out what's stopping it?
