In Linux, is it possible to get a listing of drives' disk space usage that also shows volume labels?

I know about df, of course, but df does not output volume labels. I have 5 USB hard drives plugged into my NAS box, and would love to know which is which. On my Mac, under the 'Shared' folder it shows another computer in my house, am I hacked?

I didnt' setup any connection to another computer in my house (its a PC), and I just noticed under my 'Shared' folder in the file explorer on my Mac laptop I see the name of the PC. How could this have shown up when I didn't even try to connect to it before? Could I possibly be hacked or is this normal it just scanned our internal wireless network? I havent' setup any kind of network really, just have a wireless modem that other computers share.

Computer shows error message when being shut down. What does it mean?

My OS is Windows XP SP3. This message sometimes comes up when I am shutting the computer down: The instruction at 0x00000000 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read. The computer still shuts down. I cannot find a reference to this happening on shutdown, it only seems to be connected to programs that I don't have. I have the whole Word 2003 package. Any direction appreciated.

When giving DataSource to a BindingSource shows only the cachedList Items.

I have a BindingSource on a form with MyObject Datasource. I Open another form and passing MyObject where i give its EntitySetObject reference to another BindingSource. Everything ok. Deleting an Entity on EntitySetObject reference and closing the form with EndEdit(). OK. Back in the "First" form i add one Entity in MyObject.EntitySetObject and again opening the form. But i have noticed that when giving the datasource to the BindingSource i have 2 items in cachedlist and 3 entities. Control now shows only the 2 cached items. Any Idea?

Trying to re-install ubuntu 11.10on an HP Pavillion G6, screen goes black after the ubuntu logo shows.How do I get it to install normally?

Installed Ubuntu 11.1 successfully without my wireless device being recognized. Used sudo apt-get update + upgrade commands to attempt to fix this. Computer crashes after upgrade and now it won't finish re-installing Ubuntu, after it shows the first purple screen with the Ubuntu logo, the screen goes black. Used the Derik's Boot Nuke CD and then attempted re-installment again, and the black screen problem remains consistent, seemingly no matter what I do. It sounds like it's installing but won't let me see anything or go anywhere. heelllppp

How to write an editor that shows the content of a folder in eclipse?

Motivation I have written an eclipse plugin that shows me a list of all files and folders with unreviewed content. When selecting a folder, I want an editor to open showing all files and subfolders that this folder contains. It has to work for versioned items, too. So I have to create the content of the editor within my plugin (no backing IResource). What I currently have Right now I'm opening a RemoteFileEditorInput for a versioned file (subclipse) or I'm using IWorkbenchPage.openEditor() for a FileEditorInput. Question What's an easy way to visualize dynamic content (directory listing) inside of an text editor?

The SharePoint Search Dropdown shows only This site as the scope.

Hi All, I have a team site in which the Search scope dropdown only shows This site and it doesn't show All Sites and People in the dropdown.Any one knows why? I have not enabled Custom scopes in Search settings for this site because I don't have Search Center created. If I create search center and specify as a custom scope in this site I can see all 3 scopes in the dropdown. I am just trying to understand whether I need to have Search Center created to have all these shared scopes getting displayed in the Search Scopes drop down?

Excel Shows "#########" when i try to write DateTime.Now.tostring() to one of the cell in Excel File

I have created a application in c# , it reads excel file and after checking some conditions, it select a row to be written in another Excel File. Everything is working fine, but i need to end the file with the DateTime.Now.ToString(). string date = DateTime.Now.ToString(); ExcelWorkSheet2.Cells[newFileRow, 1] = date; When I see the file created, it shows "########" symbol instead of actual date. When I select that cell , it changes to correct date format. What may be going wrong?

Axis webservice calls fail sometimes, access.log shows content!

Hi, our app is a webservice client (axis 1) to a third party webservice (also axis 1). We use it for some years now. Since a few weeks, we (as a client) get sometimes HTTP status 400 (bad request) or read timeouts when calling the webservice. Strangely, the access.log of the service shows part of the request or the response instead of the URL. Weird Qt SSL issue -- error "No Error" shows up, nothing else, and if I ignore it, everything works

The issue is as follows : in my Qt app, I have a QWebView, which I use to load a HTTPS page. Everything worked fine on my development machine, so I'm now trying to get it to run on a test machine. I ran the app, but the page didn't load (the QWebView was blank). After much debugging, I found the problem is that an SSL error shows up, and the sslErrors() signal is fired. Here is my sslErrors() handling code: void blah::sslErrors(QNetworkReply *reply, const QList<QSslError> &errors) { foreach(QSslError error, errors) { qDebug() << error.errorString() << endl; } reply->ignoreSslErrors(); } The only thing the above code prints is: "No error" So there's no error, but unless I call reply->ignoreSslErrors(), the page doesn't load (on the test machine, on my developer computer no error is reported). Huh? Is this a bug? Is it safe to ignore the error, if I make sure it's of the type "No error"?

How can I generate a FindBugs report that shows me the bugs removed between two revisions in the bug

I am attempting to execute a combination of the FindBugs commands filterBugs and convertXmlToText, against a bug database that I created, to generate a report that shows me the all of the bugs removed between two revisions of the system that I am working on. Unfortunately, the resulting report does not show any bug details. It appears that the convertXmlToText throws away all bugs that are dead (aka inactive)... the exact set of bugs that I'd like to see. How to implement a search page which shows results on the same page?

I'm using ASP.NET MVC 2 for the first time on a project at work and am feeling like a bit of a noob. I have a page with a customer search control/partial view. The control is a textbox and a button. You enter a customer id into the textbox and hit search. The page then "refreshes" and shows the customer details on the same page. In other words, the customer details appear below the customer search control. This is so that if the customer isn't the right one, the user can search again without hitting back in the browser. Or, perhaps they mistyped the customer id and need to try again. I want the URL to look like this: /Customer/Search/1 Obviously, this follows the default route in the project. Now, if I type the URL above directly into my browser, it works fine. However, when I then use the search control on that page to search for say customer 2, the page refreshes with the correct customer details but the URL does not change! It stays as /Customer/Search/1 When I want it to be /Customer/Search/2 How can I get it to change to the correct URL? I am only using the default route in Global.asax. Wifi antenna extension with F-connector/RG-6(RG-59) cable?

In an older house, the wire mesh in walls surrounding the furnace behave like a Faraday cage and block wifi signals. It is also difficult to lay new cable, however there is television cable to multiple locations due to there once having been a roof-installed, television antenna. It would be relatively trivial to install the wifi router at the center distribution point, then have the antenna broadcasting/receiving the signal plugged in at each of the old television outlets. I assume that it would not be too difficult to find an adapter for SMA <- F-type connectors. The cable is actually RG-59 rather than RG-6, but I assume that it still has relatively good RF isolation along its length, which is no more than a couple hundred feet in any direction. Does anyone know a problem with the idea? Will a router get confused if there is /too little/ interference between the two antenna? Is that length of cable (~100ft) too long for the signal a router broadcasts? I have seen that it is also possible to use old ~$30/each FiOS cable modems available on eBay to extend a network over television cable. However, that seems like a less elegant solution, and might interfere with upnp and dlna services I'd like to have work on a single network. Thanks if anyone has answers or suggestions before I try this project!

What's the point of Netgear's WNHDB3004 "3DHD WIRELESS HOME THEATER NETWORKING KIT"

Here's a crude representation of what I've got at home: floor 2 INTERNETS ---- MODEM/ROUTER ---- MY COMPUTER | floor 1 WIFI REPEATER ---- stuff | floor 0 more stuff TELEVISION Now, as part of our sat tv subscription we can get an additional service if we connect our decoder (located by TELEVISION obviously) to the internet. What they suggest is buying a Netgear 3DHD WIRELESS HOME THEATER NETWORKING KIT holy shit isn't my bullshit-o-meter flying high right now from the general buzzwordyness of this thing. What does this thing actually do that our existing wireless-enabled routers don't do? What's the point of having a third wifi router in the same house, this time only for one television? If I do decide to plunge €99 for this, should I connect it to the wifi repeater (which does not provide AAA quality internet, at least for all gaming purposes) or to my modem/router (risking issues with low signal?).

Access MacZFS via network from XBMC

I have a ZFS RAID (zpool with three drives) hooked up to my Mac that I want to share in my LAN so that the XBMC client on my OUYA console hooked up to the television can read the drive and use it to stream my movies and television shows onto the television set. I've searched around for a bit but so far haven't found anything that helped me with it. I know that when connecting to the Mac with SSH I can't just access the drive due to different formatting. What do I have to do so that XBMC will be able to read it? How do I share it?

com0com silent install (test signed com0com.sys shows up as signed in explorer but not in Device Manager)

My goal is to have the com0com serial driver install without popping up the install wizard on both WinXP and Win2000. I am working on WinXP x86. I have followed the test signing instructions for the com0com driver, replacing amd64 with i386 at line 60. I have added my test certificate as both a root and trustedprovider using the following commands: certmgr /add com0com.cer /r localMachine root certmgr /add com0com.cer /r localMachine trustedprovider And verified that it is listed under both locations. I then run the newly built setup.exe. This installs the signed com0com.sys file into C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS and sets up a pair of virtual serial ports and a bus between them. Using explorer, I go to the DRIVERS directory, right click on the com0com.sys file and verify that it has the "test" digital signature. I then go into Device Manager, open the "com0com serial port emulators" entry, pick an entry and do Properties-Driver and see that it says "Not digitally signed". I click details for the driver and can see that it is referring to the com0com.sys driver file that I just confirmed is signed. I found what might be a related issue but I'm not sure. Does WinXP demand a WHQL signature? If so, does that explain why the com0com.sys file is signed but the device driver entries say they aren't signed?

Background image for list view still shows white behind text for cells.

I wanted to put a background image partially visible behind a list view. I created a list view in my nib with an image view behind it and made the list view background 20% opacity. This allows the background image to show thru but my text in the cells show a white background behind and if I create the cells in cellForRowAtIndexPath the cells have a white background too. I am creating and setting the cell textLabel and the detailTextLabel in the cellForRowAtIndexPath event. Not sure how to get rid of that, or if there is a better way to do the background image.

iPhone landscape navigation back action shows vertical view transition?

I have a regular UINavigationController and I push a series of UIViewController into the stack. The view transition for push controller is horizontal animation transition: [self.navigationController pushViewController:controller animated:YES]; However, when I press the Back button on the navigation bar, the view transition animation is vertical (vertically dropping down the previous controller/view). I don't seem to find any way to make this horizontal. This happens only in Landscape mode. Portrait mode the transition all happens as horizontal flip transition. Can anyone shed any light on this? My Rails app is returning HTTP 500 for all its URLs, but nothing shows up in the log file. How can I

I have a Rails app that is running on a production server with Apache and Phusion Passenger. The app works fine locally when using Mongrel, but whenever I try to load a URL on the production server, it returns HTTP 500. I know the server is working properly, because I can get the static elements of the application (e.g., JavaScript files, stylesheets, images) just fine. I've also checked the Passenger status and it is loading the app (it must be, since the app's 500 Internal Server Error page is returned, not just the default Apache one). Also, when I load the app via script/console production and do something like app.get("/"), 500 is also returned. The problem is that there is nothing in the log files to indicate the problem. production.log is empty. The Apache error logs show no problems with Apache, either. I'm stumped as to what's going on and I'm not sure how to diagnose the problem. I know I may have been a bit vague, but can anyone give a suggestion on what the problem may be? Or at least a way I can go about diagnosing it?

joomla SEF shows differrent links in Homepage than inner pages !!

I'm enabling Joomla SEF , and get the following results when I link to an article from a homepage (frontpage) article: anywebsite.com/component/content/article/26/141-Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4 but when linking from other articles I get the result I want which is : anywebsite.com/Categor/141-Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4 and the link is both equal which is : index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=141:Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4&catid=26 any idea?! Edit: Does manually linking with this SEF link is a good idea , instead of waiting for joomla to convert it .. ? atleast as a last resort?
