  • OpenERP model tracking external resource, hooking into parent's copy() or copy_data()

    - by CB.
I have added a new model (call it crm_lead_external) that is linked via a new one2many on crm_lead. Thus, my module has two models defined: an updated crm_lead (with _name=crm_lead) and a new crm_lead_external. This external model tracks a file and as such has a 'filename' field. I also created a unique SQL index on this filename field. This is part of my module: def copy(self, cr, uid, id, default=None, context=None): if not default: default = {} default.update({ 'state': 'new', 'filename': '', }) ret = super(crm_lead_external, self).copy(cr, uid, id, default, context=context) #do file copy return ret The intent here is to allow an external entity to be duplicated, but to retarget the file path. Now, if I click duplicate on the Lead, I get an IntegrityError on my unique constraint. Is there a particular reason why copy() isn't being called? Should I add this logic to copy_data()? Myst I really override copy() for the lead? Thanks in advance.

  • Link a programmatic instantiation of class x in class y to a view controller of class x

    - by Joel Derfner
I have classes Compose and Haiku, each connected to a view controller in IB. Haiku is instantiated in Compose as ghhaiku. Haiku has an array, self.arrayOfHaiku, with 117 members. But in Compose, self.ghhaiku.arrayOfHaiku has no members. I think the problem is that I haven't linked the instance of Haiku that has the 117-member array with the instance of Haiku created in Compose. But how do I do that? (I could of course be totally wrong and the problem could be something else, but that seems to make intuitive sense.) Any thoughts?

  • How do I run modals windows from code with cocoa?

    - by Leandro
Hi,everybody I`m trying to run a window as modal directly from the code. My program starts and a main NSWindows is showed.A thread still running to see if the user has a valid distribution. if he doesn't I need to run a modal.I mean, I have no buttons clicked in the interface.I've designed a NSWindow on the interface builder for a password set, and I want to call it only when my validation is not successful. I have tested and realized that these methods which are responsible for modal windows running only work in a IBAction environment. //This doesn't work -(void) showPasswordWindow { [NSApp runModalForWindow:[self window]]; } //this works But its not useful for me =( - (IBAction) passwordWindowButton:(id)sender { [NSApp runModalForWindow:[self window]]; } Please, help this newbie =)

  • ruby on rails photo upload problem

    - by dodo00700
    Hallo rails version 2.3.5 I'm learning rails and I run into a problem. I'm doing some nesting forms from the railscasts tutorials. I changed the text area into a data field to upload photos and everything is working. Now i have to display the uploaded pictures and i simply can't do it. I Tried everything I could find on the net but nothing worked. PROBLEM I have the Article controller which handles the article CRUD. inside the article new form there is nested a form for uploading images. article controller def code_image @image_data = Photo.find(params[:id]) @image = @image_data.binary_data send_data(@image, :type => @image_data.content_type, :filename => @image_data.filename, :disposition => 'inline') end photo model def image_file=(input_data) self.filename = input_data.original_filename self.content_type = input_data.content_type.chomp self.binary_data = input_data.read end articles/show.html.erb <%=h @article.title %> <%=h @article.body %> <% for photos in @article.photos %> <%= image_tag(url_for({:action => 'code_image', :id => @article.photos.id})) -%> <% end %> articles/_formnew.html.erb <% form_for (:article, @article, :url => {:action=>'create'}, :html=> {:multipart=>true}) do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages % <%= f.label :title %><br /> <%= f.text_field :title %><br /><br /> <%= f.label :body %><br /> <%= f.text_area :body, :style => 'width: 600px;' %><br /><br /> <% f.fields_for :photos do |builder|%> <%= builder.label :content, "Photo"%><br /> <%= builder.file_field :image_file %><br /> <% end %> <br /> <%= f.submit "Create" %> <% end % Thanks

  • UIImage in UIView and display image parts out of bounds

    - by Mpampinos Holmens
I have an image in a subview that is bigger than the subview it self, is it possible to display parts of the image that are out of the subview! have tried the view.clipsToBounds=NO; but no lack still. here is part of my code so far. xRayView = [[XRayView alloc] initWithFrame: CGRectMake((1024 - 800) / 2, self.device.frame.origin.y - 26, 800,530)]; xRayView.clipsToBounds=NO; [xRayView setForgroundImage: [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile: [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource: @"xray_foreground_01" ofType: @"png"]]]; [xRayView setBackgroundImage: [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile: [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource: @"xray_background_01" ofType: @"png"]]]; the foreground and the background images are bigger than the xray view

  • Perl: Why does "use strict" not let me pass a parameter hash?

    - by Thariama
I hava a perl subroutine where i would like to pass parameters as a hash (the aim is to include a css depending on the parameter 'iconsize'). I am using the call: get_function_bar_begin('iconsize' => '32'); for the subroutine get_function_bar_begin: use strict; ... sub get_function_bar_begin { my $self = shift; my %template_params = %{ shift || {} }; return $self->render_template('global/bars /tmpl_incl_function_bar_begin.html',%template_params); } Why does this yield the error message: Error executing run mode 'start': undef error - Can't use string ("iconsize") as a HASH ref while "strict refs" in use at CheckBar.pm at line 334 Am i doing something wrong here? Is there an other way to submit my data ('iconsize') as a hash?

  • Prevent Erroneous Property Assignment

    - by Gordon
Porting android applications to iphone applications always gives me the following pattern that I accidentally create: - (void) myFunc:(id)prop { self.property = property; } Which instead should be: - (void) myFunc:(id)prop { self.property = prop; } This always causes my program to quietly break because property gets reset to its existing value rather than being set to the new value, 'prop'. I cannot name the parameter 'prop' to 'property' since the compile complains that the parameter masks the instance variables visibility. Is there a good way to avoid this situation? There are no compiler warnings. Is there a way to make xcode prevent this? I cannot see very many situations where you would set a property to the value of its underlying instance variable (maybe to trigger a KVO binding?), but I don't see myself doing that in majority of cases. I understand the above code is synthetic and should be done with @synthesize, but I am just using it as a simplified example to illustrate my point.

  • Why can I create a table with PRIMARY KEY on a nullable column?

    - by AlexKuznetsov
The following code creates a table without raising any errors: CREATE TABLE test( ID INTEGER NULL, CONSTRAINT PK_test PRIMARY KEY(ID) ) Note that I cannot insert a NULL, as expected: INSERT INTO test VALUES(1),(NULL) ERROR: null value in column "id" violates not-null constraint DETAIL: Failing row contains (null). ********** Error ********** ERROR: null value in column "id" violates not-null constraint SQL state: 23502 Detail: Failing row contains (null). Why can I create a table with a self-contradictory definition? ID column is explicitly declared as NULLable, and it is implicitly not nullable, as a part of the PRIMARY KEY. Does it make sense? Edit: would it not be better if this self-contradictory CREATE TABLE just failed right there?

  • is it safe to refactor my django models?

    - by Johnd
My model is similar to this. Is this ok or should I make the common base class abstract? What are the differcenes between this or makeing it abstract and not having an extra table? It seems odd that there is only one primary key now that I have factored stuff out. class Input(models.Model): details = models.CharField(max_length=1000) user = models.ForeignKey(User) pub_date = models.DateTimeField('date published') rating = models.IntegerField() def __unicode__(self): return self.details class Case(Input): title = models.CharField(max_length=200) views = models.IntegerField() class Argument(Input): case = models.ForeignKey(Case) side = models.BooleanField() is this ok to factor stuff out intpu Input? I noticed Cases and Arguments share a primary Key. like this: CREATE TABLE "cases_input" ( "id" integer NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, "details" varchar(1000) NOT NULL, "user_id" integer NOT NULL REFERENCES "auth_user" ("id"), "pub_date" datetime NOT NULL, "rating" integer NOT NULL ) ; CREATE TABLE "cases_case" ( "input_ptr_id" integer NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY REFERENCES "cases_input" ("id"), "title" varchar(200) NOT NULL, "views" integer NOT NULL ) ; CREATE TABLE "cases_argument" ( "input_ptr_id" integer NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY REFERENCES "cases_input" ("id"), "case_id" integer NOT NULL REFERENCES "cases_case" ("input_ptr_id"), "side" bool NOT NULL )

  • Tallying records using annotate() not working as should.

    - by 47
I have two classes: Vehicle and Issues....a Vehicle object can have several issues recorded in the Issues class. What I want to do is to have a list of all issues, with each vehicle appearing only once and the total number of issues shown, plus other details....clicking on the record will then take the user to another page with all those issues for a selected vehicle shown in detail now. I tried this out using annotate, but I could only access the count and vehicle foreign key, but none of the other fields in the Vehicle class. class Issues(models.Model): vehicle = models.ForeignKey(Vehicle) description = models.CharField('Issue Description', max_length=30,) type = models.CharField(max_length=10, default='Other') status = models.CharField(max_length=12, default='Pending') priority = models.IntegerField(default='8', editable=False) date_time_added = models.DateTimeField(default=datetime.today, editable=False) last_updated = models.DateTimeField(default=datetime.today, editable=False) def __unicode__(self): return self.description The code I was using to annotate is: issues = Issues.objects.all().values('vehicle').annotate(count=Count('id')) What could be the problem?

  • Objective-C inheritance; calling overriden method from superclass?

    - by anshuchimala
Hello, I have an Objective-C class that has a method that is meant to be overridden, which is uses in a different method. Something like this: @interface BaseClass - (id)overrideMe; - (void)doAwesomeThings; @end @implementation BaseClass - (id)overrideMe { [self doesNotRecognizeSelector:_cmd]; return nil; } - (void)doAwesomeThings { id stuff = [self overrideMe]; /* do stuff */ } @end @interface SubClass : BaseClass @end @implementation SubClass - (id)overrideMe { /* Actually do things */ return <something>; } @end However, when I create a SubClass and try to use it, it still calls overrideMe on the BaseClass and crashes due to doesNotRecognizeSelector:. (I'm not doing a [super overrideMe] or anything stupid like that). Is there a way to get BaseClass to call the overridden overrideMe?

  • Navigation Bar color doesn't change back? iOS7

    - by TKP
I have several tableviews with navigation controller. The navigation bar is white for all the views except the last one, which is red. I have [[[self navigationController] navigationBar] setTintColor:[UIColor redColor]; in the viewDidLoad of the last tableview and [[[self navigationController] navigationBar] setTintColor:[UIColor whiteColor]; in the viewDidLoad of other table views. It works fine until I get to the last view and the color of the navigation bar changes to red. When I go back to the previous views, all the previous views' navigation bar has changed to red. Where should I put those codes so the color will remain unchanged? Thanks,

  • Control ( UIButton, UILable) Hides when the Video plays Again on iPhone!

    - by Taimur Hamza
Hi, I have displayed UIButton on top of Playing Movie using this code. NSArray *windows = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] windows]; if ([windows count] 1) { // Locate the movie player window UIWindow *moviePlayerWindow = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] keyWindow]; // Add our overlay view to the movie player's subviews so it is // displayed above it. [moviePlayerWindow addSubview:self.myABC]; } There are 2 buttons on top of my movie layer. They play different videos. Now the strange part is the video plays fine with buttons showing on top of it. When i press the button to play the other movie plays but the buttons doesnt show. Seems the view reloads and flushes all the Subviews. But i have checked it in the debug mode and it enters into the 'if' condition and this line runs [moviePlayerWindow addSubview:self.myABC]; But the buttons are not dislpayed. Any ideas wats going wrong ? Thanks, Taimur

  • Is this a good approach to execute a list of operations on a data structure in Python?

    - by Sridhar Iyer
I have a dictionary of data, the key is the file name and the value is another dictionary of its attribute values. Now I'd like to pass this data structure to various functions, each of which runs some test on the attribute and returns True/False. One approach would be to call each function one by one explicitly from the main code. However I can do something like this: #MYmodule.py class Mymodule: def MYfunc1(self): ... def MYfunc2(self): ... #main.py import Mymodule ... #fill the data structure ... #Now call all the functions in Mymodule one by one for funcs in dir(Mymodule): if funcs[:2]=='MY': result=Mymodule.__dict__.get(funcs)(dataStructure) The advantage of this approach is that implementation of main class needn't change when I add more logic/tests to MYmodule. Is this a good way to solve the problem at hand? Are there better alternatives to this solution?

  • NSArray : release its objects, but keep a pointer to it.

    - by Leo
Hello, I declare an NSArray in my code then building the array from another array. I process my NSArray and when I'm finished, I would like to release the objects, but I'm reusing this pointer to NSAarray again later to do the same process (creating the array from another array, process then releasing).. So I need to keep the pointer. What should I do ? Here is roughly what I want to do, the buildArray is creating and returning an autoreleased NSArray : NSArray *myArray; for (int i = 0, i < 10, i++){ [myArray arrayWithArray:[self buildArray]]; // Here I process myArray [myArray = nil] // is my guess } I need to keep a pointer to my NSArray, in order to reuse later in the loop, but what is happening to the objects created with [self buildArray]? What is the best to do in order not to keep unused object and arrays ? Or maybe the best solution is simply to removeAllObject of the array..? Thank you!

  • Rails validation issue with before_validation

    - by Chance
I'm still fairly new to rails so I'm not sure what I'm missing here. I'm using GeoKit to geocode an address upon saving. I have a method that geocodes an address and if it fails to find it, it adds an error to the errors list. I've tested it in the console and it is failing on the geocode (presumably adding the error) but still saving successfully. acts_as_mappable before_validation_on_create :geocode_address before_validation_on_update :geocode_address validates_presence_of :street validates_presence_of :city validates_presence_of :state validates_presence_of :zip validates_presence_of :name validates_uniqueness_of :name def geocode_address geo=Geokit::Geocoders::MultiGeocoder.geocode ("#{street}, #{city}, #{state}, #{zip}") puts "geocoded: #{street}, #{city}, #{state}, #{zip}" if geo.success self.lat, self.lng = geo.lat,geo.lng else errors.add(:street, "Could not Geocode address") end puts "geo status: #{geo.success}" end Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

  • Export Certificate Windows Server 2008

    - by user1432032
I need to export the private key of a self-created SSL-certificate on a Windows Server 2008. However at Microsoft Management Console (the certificate is located, if it matter, in Personal-Certificate folder) the option "Yes, export the private key" is greyed out. Reading the provided help section it tells that the certificate needed to "be made exportable" during creation. However it also says that it is ONLY a limitation if it was created using Windows Server 2003. It doesn´t say anything how to fix it though on a Windows 2008 Server. The certificate is self-signed. I want to export to PKCS12 format. I´m accessing MMC as administrator so there should not be any permission issues. How can I make this certificate "exportable"?

  • Basic View Switch Code Crashes iPhone simulator

    - by Ouija
I've been trying to switch two views from two separate view controllers for a while and it never works, the simulator always crashes to the home screen. I'm using Xcode 3.2.5 and this is my code - SwitchViewsViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "SecondViewController.h" @interface SwitchViewsViewController : UIViewController { } -(IBAction)pushButton; @end SwitchViewsViewController.m #import "SwitchViewsViewController.h" #import "SecondViewController.h" @implementation SwitchViewsViewController -(IBAction)pushButton { SecondViewController *screen = [[SecondViewController alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil screen.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleCoverVertical; [self presentModalViewController:screen animated:YES] [screen release]; } SecondViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface SecondViewController : UIViewController { } -(IBAction)pushBack; @end SecondViewController.m #import "SecondViewController.h" @implementation SecondViewController -(IBAction)pushBack{ [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; } In interface builder, all i've done is linked the file's owner classes and the buttons. Also made the SwitchViewsViewController load first, and not MainWindow. Everything builds but when I try to run the app it crashes and sends it to the home screen. Can anyone help me with this?

Also how to use UISaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum . What all things i need to change in my code so that i can save video to a specified location Thanks,

  • app engine's back referencing is too slow. How can I make it faster?

    - by Ray Yun
Google app engine has smart feature named back references and I usually iterate them where the traditional SQL's computed column need to be used. Just imagine that need to accumulate specific force's total hp. class Force(db.Model): hp = db.IntegerProperty() class UnitGroup(db.Model): force = db.ReferenceProperty(reference_class=Force,collection_name="groups") hp = db.IntegerProperty() class Unit(db.Model): group = db.ReferenceProperty(reference_class=UnitGroup,collection_name="units") hp = db.IntegerProperty() When I code like following, it was horribly slow (almost 3s) with 20 forces with single group - single unit. (I guess back-referencing force reload sub entities. Am I right?) def get_hp(self): hp = 0 for group in self.groups: group_hp = 0 for unit in group.units: group_hp += unit.hp hp += group_hp return hp How can I optimize this code? Please consider that there are more properties should be computed for each force/unit-groups and I don't want to save these collective properties to each entities. :)
