  Hi all: I'm getting a "There was an error in the callback" error when clicking on the check names button of the PeopleEditor in Sharepoint. I didn't do anything fancy. All I did was just to create a PeopleEditor in the C# code and add it to a Panel, and let the aspx page renders it. The address book (the button next to the check names button) works. But everytime when I enter something in the PeopleEditor and click the check names button, I get that error. I had a look at my aspx page, and I'm getting the feeling that I'm missing some sort of Javascript library. I have JQuery library included in my aspx page, but thats about it. Does anyone know what might be wrong? [UPDATE] The PeopleEditor is appended to a panel, which is displayed when the value of a dropdown list changes. Thanks.

  In VS2010, Silverlight 4, .NET 4, I've got a WCF service and a Silverlight app, and Silverlight is accessing the class not with Add Service Reference but by sharing the contract. Naturally, this means I have the contract in a Silverlight class library, and the service has a project reference to that library. Strangely, this results in a /!\ icon on the reference, and a warning: The project 'SilverlightClassLibrary1' cannot be referenced. The referenced project is targeted to a different framework family (Silverlight) However, the reference works fine (I can use the interface in my Silverlight app) and builds fine. Is this a bug? My guess is yes, since the warning is lying and also goes away if you add an assembly reference instead of a project reference. I filed a bug and there's more info here as well.

  I'm trying to compile (using Visual Studio) an ASP.Net website with the Chilkat library. The compilation fails due to this error: Could not load file or assembly 'ChilkatDotNet2, Version=9.0.8.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=eb5fc1fc52ef09bd' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. I've been told that this error occurs because of platform noncompliance. The weird thing is that although the compilation fails, the site works once accessed from a browser. My theory is that the IIS compilation uses csc.exe compiler from the Framework64 (64 bit) folder while the Visual Studio uses csc.exe compiler from the Framework (32 bit) folder. If this is acually it, how can I configure my Visual studio to run with the 64 bit compiler for ASP.Net sites? This is my current development configuration: Windows 7 (x64). Visual Studio 2008 Pro (x86 of course...). Chilkat library (x64) IIS/Asp.net (x64).

  I'm attempting to use Microsoft's NATUPnP library to create a port mapping. Unfortunately, I'm unable to. My router supports UPnP, it is enabled, and I can create mappings with other (pre-built) applications. I can also read existing mappings. When I call the Add function, it fails and returns HRESULT 0x80040214 (which is undocumented). I have absolutely no idea what might be going on. IStaticPortMapping* newMapping = NULL; hr = portMappings->Add(27015, L"TCP", 27015, L"MYCOMPUTER", VARIANT_TRUE, L"TestMapping", &newMapping); You can see the reference for this function at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa366148%28v=VS.85%29.aspx.   Hello, I'm having this annoyning problem giving this message in the console: Failed to launch simulated application: iPhone Simulator failed to find the process ID of com.iAndApp.BlockPop. When trying to Build and Run, the application builds fine. The simulator starts but doesn't start the application. However, it manages to do something since the icon for the app is installed in the simulator. I have been searching to find the answer and tried a couple of things, none that worked. This happens for both new and old projects. I.e. when I create a new project I will receive the same error message. I've tried several projects of which all get the same error, so it's not related to the code (and successful builds proves it). Among other things I have updated to xCode 3.2.2. in order to try to solve the problem. Using Mac OSX 10.6.3. I have checked my server and the smallest amount of space left on any of the drives is ~4GB. The file size is 1MB. I have checked the database and the data file is on unrestricted growth. Any ideas?

• How can I assert from Python C code?

  I'm writing a Python class in C and I want to put assertions in my debug code. assert.h suits me fine. This only gets put in debug compiles so there's no chance of an assert failure impacting a user of the Python code*. I'm trying to divide my 'library' code (which should be separate to the code linked against Python) so I can use it from other C code. My Python methods are therefore thinnish wrappers around my pure-C code. So I can't do this in my 'library' code: if (black == white) { PyErr_SetString(PyExc_RuntimeError, "Remap failed"); } because this pollutes my pure-C code with Python. It's also far uglier than a simple assert(black != white); I believe that the Distutils compiler always sets NDEBUG, which means I can't use assert.h even in debug builds. Mac OS and Linux. Help! *one argument I've heard against asserting in C code called from Python.

• GLFW 3 initialized, yet not?

  I'm struggling with creating a window with the GLFW 3 function, glfwCreateWindow. I have set an error callback function, that pretty much just prints out the error number and description, and according to that the GLFW library have not been initialized, even though the glfwInit function just returned success? I think I'm getting the error because of the setup isn't entirely correct, but I've done the best I can with what I could find around the place I downloaded the windows 32 from glfw.org and stuck the 2 includes files from it into minGW/include/GLFW, the 2 .a files (from the lib-mingw folder) into minGW/lib and the dll, also from the lib-mingw folder, into Windows/System32 In code::blocks I have, from build options - linker settings, linked the 2 .a files from the download. I believe I need to link more things, but I can figure out what, or where I should get those things from.

  I have an issue with log4net which has been bugging me for a while and I've resolved to sort it. I have a class library which references log4net. If I reference this class library in another project I must then reference log4net in this project otherwise I get a build error Unknown build error, 'Cannot resolve dependency to assembly 'log4net, Version=1.2.10.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=1b44e1d426115821' because it has not been preloaded. When using the ReflectionOnly APIs, dependent assemblies must be pre-loaded or loaded on demand through the ReflectionOnlyAssemblyResolve event.'   When I try to connect to an MS CRM web service using suds/python-ntlm, I am getting a timeout on requests. However, the code that I'm trying to replace -- which calls out to the cURL command line app to do the same call -- succeeds. Clearly something is different in the way that cURL is sending the command data, but I'll be damned if I know what the difference is. Below are the full details of the various calls. • infoWindow on MarkerClusterer in google maps

  I need infoWindow to be opened instead of zooming in map, when clicking on the ClusterMarker. I am using Gmaps util library MarkerClusterer for creating cluster of markers. I tried changing following line in markerclusterer.js ClusterMarker_.prototype = new GOverlay(); with ClusterMarker_.prototype = new GMarker(); so that I can get the openInfoWindow() function in the clustermarker, but that didnt worked out. Got some error. If possible, Please suggest solution so that this can be done with MarkerClusterer. Or else any other library which will be able to do this. Any help will be appreciated.

  Hi, I have noticed that some WPF controls have some decent effects available to them (drop shadow, reflection etc), and was wondering if it was possible to use these WPF controls solely for their available effects? For example, I have an image manipulation library that resizes and letterboxes disparate sized images but I would like to add drop shadow effects to the resulting images. The WPF image control has this effect available, but how easy is it to use in an environment where there will never be a GUI (console app or ASP.Net library/handler for example). Thoughts?
