    Is there any way of placing a file into application "sandbox" i.e into eg: /var/mobile/Applications/30B51836-D2DD-43AA-BCB4-9D4DADFED6A2/Documents of iphone? My Application expects a file to be put into /Documents folder of application so that it can be uploaded to my local server. This method should confirm to the rules of Apple so that it should not be rejected.

"You won $5") When scanned with a different QR code reader (non app) it goes to a mobile web page that directs the user to download the application. My main question is: Can you control what happens when a QR code is scanned by a reader that is not your own? (A 'default' action, if you will)

    If I allocate memory in one thread in C++ (either new or malloc) can I de-allocate it in another, or must both occur in the same thread? Ideally, I'd like to avoid this in the first place, but I'm curious to know is it legal, illegal or implementation dependent. Edit: The compilers I'm currently using include VS2003, VS2008 and Embedded C++ 4.0, targetting XP, Vista, Windows 7 and various flavours of Windows CE / PocketPC & Mobile. So basically all Microsoft but across an array of esoteric platforms.

  • Java Socket Connection is flooding network OR resulting in high ping

    i have a little problem with my java socket code. I'm writing an android client application which is sending data to a java multithreaded socket server on my pc through direct(!) wireless connection. It works fine but i want to improve it for mobile applications as it is very power consuming by now. When i remove two special lines in my code, the cpu usage of my mobile device (htc one x) is totally okay but then my connection seems to have high ping rates or something like that... Here is a server code snippet where i receive the clients data: while(true) { try { .... Object obj = in.readObject(); if(obj != null) { Class clazz = obj.getClass(); String className = clazz.getName(); if(className.equals("java.lang.String")) { String cmd = (String)obj; if(cmd.equals("dc")) { System.out.println("Client "+id+" disconnected!"); Server.connectedClients[id-1] = false; break; } if(cmd.substring(0,1).equals("!")) { robot.keyRelease(PlayerEnum.getKey(cmd,id)); } else { robot.keyPress(PlayerEnum.getKey(cmd,id)); } } } } catch .... Heres the client part, where i send my data in a while loop: private void networking() { try { if(client != null) { .... out.writeObject(sendQueue.poll()); .... } } catch .... when i write it this why, i send data everytime the while loop gets executed.. when sendQueue is empty, a null "Object" will be send. this results in "high" network traffic and in "high" cpu usage. BUT: all send comments are received nearly immediately. when i change the code to following: while(true) ... if(sendQueue.peek() != null) { out.writeObject(sendQueue.poll()); } ... the cpu usage is totally okay but i'm getting some laggs.. the commands do not arrive fast enough.. as i said, it works fine (besides cpu usage) if i'm sending data(with that null objects) every while execution. but i'm sure that this is very rough coding style because i'm kind of flooding the network. any hints? what am i doing wrong??     My layout breaks if I change the window size in IE7/AOL, so I added a simple javascript function that fires on window.onresize, but no matter how I change the location I get problems. It was suggested I post a link and here it is: link text I already use PHP to detect browser and include an IE7-only inline stylesheet (and for mobile browsers), and my page looks nearly identical to the way it does in FF, Opera, Chrome, Safari and IE8, but when I change the window size, some things go wonky, and come back into line if you refresh. Any advice is welcome :)

    With the recent changes in the SDK agreement, I am kinda confused if I'm able to put any type of analytics into my app. I don't want to do anything nefarious, just want to see which functionality of my app is getting used the most. I was looking at Google Analytic's mobile sdk to track the different views, just like page views but I have a feeling it is not allowed anymore.   • ASP.NET Password textbox, has text as characters entered

    When I look at gmail on my mobile web browser the password textbox hashes the characters as I type so I can see the actual input as I type before is hashed with an asterisk. So as I enter it becomes, P -- *a -- **s etc.. How is this done? I presume its javascript? If somone can point me in the right direction that would be great.
