• Creating C# form fields with events based off of a text file

  I need to generate windows form fields based off of a text file that I am parsing. I also want to automatically generate validation event handlers which all will be basically the same only the form field and the regular expression which is used to validate the field will change. I'm having a difficult time figuring out the quickest and easiest method to go about doing this. Any pointers in the right direction would really be great, maybe even some keywords that I'm missing. I can only imagine this type of question has been covered before, I just don't know what I'm searching for really.

• MS SQL Server Text Datatype Maxlength = 65,535?

  Software I'm working with uses a text field to store XML. From my searches online, the text datatype is supposed to hold 2^31 - 1 characters. Currently SQL Server is truncating the XML at 65,535 characters every time. I know this is caused by sqlserver, because if I add a 65,536th character to the field directly in Management Studio, it states that it will not update because characters will be truncated. Is the Maxlength really 65,535 or could this be because the database was designed in an earlier version of MS SQL Server (2000) and it's using the legacy text datatype instead of 2005's? If this is the case, will Altering the datatype to Text in sql server 2005 fix this issue?

• Is it possible to use JavaScript to submit an unnamed form from outside an iFrame?

  I know that may sound silly, but I'm trying to submit a form on a page inside an iFrame, from the parent site. • SQL Server many-to-many design recommendation

  I have a SQL Server database with two table : Users and Achievements. My users can have multiple achievements so it a many-to-many relation. At school we learned to create an associative table for that sort of relation. That mean creating a table with a UserID and an AchivementID. But if I have 500 users and 50 achievements that could lead to 25 000 row. As an alternative, I could add a binary field to my Users table. For example, if that field contained 10010 that would mean that this user unlocked the first and the fourth achievements. Is their other way ? And which one should I use.

I have a control which creates checkbox list (inside div_A) on load and get checkbox checked through database, then i click Continue, div_A get invisible with all the checked checkbox id in hidden field and div_B is visible true. • TextField Caret Does Not Display in Actionscript 3

  Hello all, I am trying to display a text field that has text inside it, and display the flashing Caret at the end of the text. I have tried the following: Code: // ti_title is my textField stage.focus = ti_title; ti_title.setSelection( ti_title.length, ti_title.length ); I have also tried: // ti_title is my textField ti_title.stage.focus = ti_title; ti_title.setSelection( ti_title.length, ti_title.length ); The field is focused because I can type into it, but I do not see a Caret until I have started typing. This is not very good for usability. I have even tried removing text then re-adding it and then setting the selection again, but still not working. Any ideas? all the best nG

• RESTful application validation. Mix of frontend/backend validation. How?

  Hi. Using RESTful for all backend persistance and operations. I just pass data from frontend (by frontend I don't mean clientside but the part that is making use of the REST) to rest and data gets back success or no with validation errors if any. Thing is I have stuff that should be validated on frontend too..like csrf tokens, captcha etc. Only reasonable way is I mix validation coming from token/captcha checks and validation errors coming back from REST. Issue with this will be kinda automation as I wouldn't want form field names to map 1:1 with backend field names use by the REST documents. Any pointers ideas are more than welcome.

  Hi, Is there a possibility to block chance to add the same data to SPList? I know that two records always are different regarding the ID field. I would like to validate other custom fields added previously by me, and don't allow of adding same field's value. Can anybody tell me how to implement this? I can guess that event receivers could be the answer but I couldn't find how to add a receiver to SPList.   I'm looking for a way to fix and/or abstract away a comma-separated values (CSV) list in a database field in order to reconstruct a usable relationship such that I can properly join the two tables below and query them using LINQ and its Join method. Following is a sample showing the Person table and CsvArticleIds field having a CSV value to represent a one-to-many association with Article records.   Hi, I use syntax like name varchar(20) NOT NULL in mysql..i have a big confusion over here. typically does it mean that this field is mandatory? but when i store a space in this field it accepts it.is it correct. its like while insert i say '".$_POST['name']."'. even if the name does not have any value query is executed. can any1 just clarify me on this ? is NULL and blank space same ?

  Quick Background Since learning basic html 5 years ago, I've become completely obsessed with the technology, the logic, and the thrill of solving problems involved with building websites. I am still stuck at a thoroughly non-programming type job, but would really like to move into the field of web programming/design. I have no educational background in the field (was trained as a fine artist and tutor), but in the past few years have progressed fully self-taught (and self-motivated) from html to css to php, mysql, jquery, and am now building rich web applications. The Question How can I prove to a company that even though I have no education, I have a passion to learn whatever is thrown my way? ...That essentially I would come at every issue with not only knowledge, but with a passionate desire to solve it, whether that means tackling a new language or debugging code for hours at a time? p.s.   When I send the following query http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/services/search/local?v=1.0&q=coffee%20New%20York%20NY using c# WebClient.DownloadString function or ordinary web browser I get JSON data which is different from data for the same query using JavaScript and Google AJAX Search API. From REST service I get the following url field http://www.google.com/maps/place?source003duds0026q003dcoffee0026cid003d13245583795745066822 but from JavaScript query I get this url field http://www.google.com/maps/place?source=uds&q=coffee&cid=13245583795745066822 The problem with REST service answer is that the url it gives points to a web page with error message "We currently do not support the location". What am I doing wrong?

  I have three models: Service has_many :prices has_many :groups, through: prices Price belongs_to :service belongs_to :group Group has_many :prices I want to have an input field (Simple_Form) for every price. In views/services/_form.html.haml I do: simple_form_for @service do |f| simple_fields_for :groups do |g| simple_fields_for :prices do |p| p.input :price With this setup I only get input fields for already saved prices. How I can get a price field for every group? I tried to do it manually, but it got really nasty and didn't work either. Thanks for any ideas!

• Model in sub-directory via app_label?

  In order to place my models in sub-folders I tried to use the app_label Meta field as described here. My directory structure looks like this: project apps foo models _init_.py bar_model.py In bar_model.py I define my Model like this: from django.db import models class SomeModel(models.Model): field = models.TextField() class Meta: app_label = "foo" I can successfully import the model like so: from apps.foo.models.bar_model import SomeModel However, running: ./manage.py syncdb does not create the table for the model. In verbose mode I do see, however, that the app "foo" is properly recognized (it's in INSTALLED_APPS in settings.py). Moving the model to models.py under foo does work. Is there some specific convention not documented with app_label or with the whole mechanism that prevents this model structure from being recognized by syncdb?

  Essentially, I want the Ubuntu pre-10.10 behaviour back. The setuid method (see notes) does not work anymore. I search a lot on the Internet, but I haven't found a satisfying solution. I have read a solution that involves editing the sudoers file (ALL ALL=NOPASSWD:/sbin/mount.cifs). But then, the users would also be able to specify a directory as a mount-point they normally would not have access to, right? This is not what I want.

• In SQL, we can use "Union" to merge two tables. What are different ways to do "Intersection"?

  In SQL, there is an operator to "Union" two tables. In an interview, I was told that, say one table has just 1 field with 1, 2, 7, 8 in it, and another table also has just 1 field with 2, and 7 in it, how do I get the intersection. I was stunned at first, because I never saw it that way. Later on, I found that it is actually a "Join" (inner join), which is just select * from t1, t2 where t1.number = t2.number (although the name "join" feels more like "union" rather than "intersect") another solution seems to be select * from t1 INTERSECT select * from t2 but it is not supported in MySQL. Are there different ways to get the intersection besides these two methods?

• Wordpress Custom Query

  I have posts that use a custom field for start date and end date. Query_posts returns an array of posts that exist in the category I'm filtering. How do I query posts using this custom field that has date i.e. 03/11/2010 and not the full array. Pagination works on the full array so it returns all posts. I can use an if else to only show the posts newer that today, then pagination doesn't work. Would I have to build a custom mysql query?

• Is there a version of postActionEvent for KeyEvent (specifically for a JTextArea)?

  I'm writing a program that contains multiple JTextFields and 2 JTextAreas within an input panel. I have a submit button on the bottom. I have it set up so when a user types something into each field (including the JTextAreas) and hits the Enter key, it updates a text file, and when they press the submit button it updates the file then outputs a new version of it in the local directory. If the user presses Enter in any of the fields, it validates their input, however, I want to re-validate all fields when they press the submit button. Each field (again, JTextAreas included) has it's own validation check within its ActionListener or KeyListener (for the JTextAreas). It's easy enough to use postActionEvent() for the JTextFields, but is there a similar method for the JTextAreas to force fire a KeyEvent? I don't want to duplicate code and consume memory by re-writing the validation for those 2 Components inside the ActionEvent for the JButton. Unfortunately, I can't provide a sample because I'm writing the program on a classified machine (PC).
