• How do I rewrite a request by hostname unless it is a specified value?

  My app will have a regular domain - let's say example.com - which will have information about logging in, signing up, etc. It will also host numerous other domains dynamically. My app serves the webpage for these at http://example.com/site/foobar.com/ So, I need to redirect all requests where the hostname is not example.com to /site/[hostname]/ I'm writing this in Django and hosting with Apache. How do I set up a rewrite rule to do this? The user must not know they are on any other site but foobar.com and if the user browses to foobar.com/something - the URL must be rewritten to /site/foobar.com/something

• How to publish to Facebook fan/business pages (not user profiles)

  I'm trying to figure out if fan/business pages are conceptually similar to regular user pages. My end goal is to publish events from a third-party Web site (new content, announcements, etc.) into the FB page that promotes the third-party site. I'm not sure where to start exactly. Been looking at the .NET Facebook SDK, and it seems focused on FB apps and authentication. Not sure where I should be looking. Help is appreciated!

• Ajax response seems to be getting lost

  I'm using the ddslick jquery dropdown plugin in conjunction with my Rails app. In view1, I have $('#challenges_dropdown').ddslick({ <snipped> onSelected: function (data) { $.ajax({ url: "/load_data", type: "GET", data: {"id": data.selectedData.value} }); } }); I.e., I make a call to my controller to load_data. The controller receives this correctly and then at the end, makes a call to render a separate view render "data" This view contains a script snippet that needs to run in order to update some elements of my original view. For some reason, this script snippet is just not running. I'm very confused. When I use a regular link with data-remote="true", then the whole process works perfectly. However, when I make an AJAX call, it fails. What's going on?? Thanks! Ringo

• Prevent RegEx Hang on Large Matches...

  This is a great regular expression for dates... However it hangs indefinitely on this one page I tried... I wanted to try this page ( http://pleac.sourceforge.net/pleac%5Fpython/datesandtimes.html ) for the fact that it does have lots of dates on it and I want to grab all of them. I don't understand why it is hanging when it doesn't on other pages... Why is my regexp hanging and/or how could I clean it up to make it better/efficient ? • What is a good way to simulate O_NOFOLLOW on systems without this flag?

  I would like to safely be able to simulate open with O_CREAT | O_WRONLY | O_TRUNC | O_NOFOLLOW and O_CREAT | O_WRONLY | O_APPEND | O_NOFOLLOW on systems that do not support O_NOFOLLOW. I can somewhat achieve what I am asking for with: struct stat lst; if (lstat(filename, &lst) != -1 && S_ISLNK(lst.st_mode)) { errno = ELOOP; return -1; } mode_t mode = S_IRUSR | S_IWUSR | S_IRGRP | S_IWGRP | S_IROTH | S_IWOTH; int fd = open(filename, O_CREAT | O_WRONLY | O_TRUNC | O_NOFOLLOW, mode); but then I introduce a race condition and possibly a security problem. I thought about maybe creating a dummy file with only the user being able to write, kind of like touching filename, doing the lstat check, and then using chmod after I finish writing (to correct the file mode bits), but I could be overlooking something major (e.g. if the file at filename exists, is not a regular file, or is already a symbolic link). What do you think?

Problem is i need the same module be implemented for 3 different systems and to use jQuery UI modal boxes for UI. when i redirect to another page ie. db connection error i redirect to error page when i use return to same page ie. input value 1 bigger than value 2 when it should be other way around ASP.NET Ajax UpdatePanel errors, wrong input for controls within UpdatePanel that doesn't do regular postpacks. thanks for any help with implementation...

• How do I link (dependency) properties in my ViewModel?

  Simplified example: I have an object that models a user. Users have a first name and a last name. The UserViewModel has a dependency property for my Models.User object. In the declaration of the UserView's xaml, I want to bind a couple of TextBlocks to the first and last name properties. What is the correct way to do this? Should I have readonly DependencyProperties for the name fields, and when the dependency property User is set, update them? Can the name fields be regular C# properties instead? Or, should I bind like this: <TextBlock Text="{Binding User.FirstName}" />

• Groovy: Dynamically addings methods with a specific signature.

  So, I need to dynamically create (or inject) methods into an object that have a specific return type and method signature, because a Java tool we're using will be finding this methods via Reflection and checks for void type. Method names will be determined at runtime. Using metaClass. = { ... } however adds a closure which doesn't show up as a regular method (even if it can be used as one) and also has a return type. I can't modify the method finding code, and it it not Groovy-aware. I can't use methodMissing() or invokeMethod() because the method needs to actually exist. If I could overload class.getMethods() I think it would be possible, but I can't figure out how. Is there any way to do this in Groovy?

• Bash intercepting wildcard in script

  I am using Bash script to read line by line from a text file, which has special characters in it (regular expression). When I use echo "${SOME_VAR}" it does not display the text as is. I am familiar with Prevent * to be expanded in the bash script. How can I display and use the text as is?   This simple test, of course, works as expected: scala var b = 2 b: Int = 2 scala b += 1 scala b res3: Int = 3 Now I bring this into scope: class A(var x: Int) { def +=(y:Int) { this.x += y } } implicit def int2A(i:Int) : A = new A(i) I'm defining a new class and a += operation on it. I never expected this would affect the way my regular Ints behave. But it does: scala var b:Int = 0 b: Int = 0 scala b += 1 scala b res29: Int = 0 scala b += 2 scala b res31: Int = 0 Scala seems to prefer the implicit conversion over the natural += that is already defined to Ints. That leads to several questions... Why? Is this a bug? Is it by design? Is there a work-around (other than not using "+=")? Thanks

  Can you any one see anything wrong with the following apache rewrite rule: This is in my .htaccess file inside a folder called "text" a subdirectory of localhost/lombardpress I have the following rule Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ([^/]+) /textdisplay.php?fs=$1 [NC] I was expecting this input: http://localhost/lombardpress-dev/text/lectio1 to rewrite to this: http://localhost/lombardpress-dev/text/textdisplay?fs=lectio1 But instead I get a 404 error. The requested URL /textdisplay.php was not found on this server. It looks to me like the RewriteRule has re-written the address but not as I intended - so there must be something wrong with my regular expression. Let me know if I can provide further information.

• Magento - how to create different prices for different sizes of a products?

  Hi, I am trying to set different prices for different sizes of a few products I have in my store. I am not really sure how to do that propely. The problem is that I already have the regular size defined as a simple product. Now, I want to add a smaller size as well, that can be chosen from the same product page, and I need to set the weight of the smaller size, so postage is calculated properly. Any suggestions? Supposing I have an instruction like this one, in the rules part: "=" BEGIN(attribution); <attribution>{var_name} { fprintf(yyout, "="); ECHO; } <attribution>";" BEGIN(INITIAL); {var_name} is a regular expression that matches a variable's name, and all I want to do is to copy at the output all the attribution instructions, such as a = 3; or b = a; My rule though cannot write with fprintf the left member of the attribution, but only = 3; or =a; One solution for that might be that, after I make the match "=" and I am in the attribution state, to go 2 positions back as to get the left operand as well. How can I do that in Flex?

  I found this question somewhat on the topic, but is there a way [in emacs] to set a minor mode (or a list thereof) based on extension? For example, it's pretty easy to find out that major modes can be manipulated like so (setq auto-mode-alist (cons '("\\.notes$" . text-mode) auto-mode-alist)) and what I'd ideally like to be able to do is (setq auto-minor-mode-alist (cons '("\\.notes$" . auto-fill-mode) auto-minor-mode-alist)) The accept answer of the linked question mentions hooks, specifically temp-buffer-setup-hook. To use this, you have to add a function to the hook like so (add-hook 'temp-buffer-setup-hook 'my-func-to-set-minor-mode) My question is two-fold: Is there an easier way to do this, similar to major modes? If not, how would one write the function for the hook? It needs to check the file path against a regular expression. If it matches, activate the desired mode (e.g. auto-fill-mode).

• How to structure data... Sequential or Hierarchical?

  I'm going through the exercise of building a CMS that will organize a lot of the common documents that my employer generates each time we get a new sales order. Each new sales order gets a 5 digit number (12222,12223,122224, etc...) but internally we have applied a hierarchy to these numbers: + 121XX |--01 |--02 + 122XX |--22 |--23 |--24 In my table for sales orders, is it better to use the 5 digital number as an ID and populate up or would it be better to use the hierarchical structure that we use when referring to jobs in regular conversation? The only benefit to not populating sequentially seems to be formatting the data later on in my view, but that doesn't sound like a good enough reason to go through the extra work. Thanks

  this regular expression should match an html start tag, I think. var results = html.match(/<(\/?)(\w+)([^>]*?)>/); I see it should first capture the <, but then I am confused what this capture (\/?) accomplishes. Am I correct in reasoning that the ([^>]*?)> searches for every character except > = 0 times? If so, why is the (\w+) capture necessary? Doesn't it fall within the purview of [^>]*?

  I found some partial help but cannot seem to fully accomplish what I need. I need to be able to do the following: I need an regular expression to replace any 1 to 3 character words between two words that are longer than 3 characters with a match any expression: For example: walk to the beach == walk(.*)beach If the 1 to 3 character word is not preceded by a word that's longer than 3 characters then I want to translate that 1 to 3 letter word to ' ?' For example: on the beach == on ?the ?beach The simpler the rule the better (of course, if there's an alternative more complicated version that's more performant then I'll take that as well as I eventually anticipate heavy usage eventually). This will be used in a PHP context most likely with preg_replace. Thus, if you can put it in that context then even better!

• XAMPP on windows 7 not working properly

  Hey there, I just installed XAMPP lite on Windows 7. I have two drives - C: for the OS and regular files, and an external drive E:. I installed XAMPP lite on E: (on the root), and its been giving me problems. Apache works well enough, but MySQL doesn't work. When I go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin/, it gives me the following error: Error MySQL said: #2003 - Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed. Any ideas as to what could be the problem? I used the zip file for XAMPP lite, the 32 bit version. This is on Windows 7 Home premium. Thanks!

  Is it possible to open a window from PHP that has predefined content? It's obvious how you can open a window from a javascript link that frames an existing page, or just do a target=_blank from a regular a tag that references an existing page. • How can I test if an input field contains foreign characters?

  I have an input field in a form. Upon pushing submit, I want to validate to make sure the user entered non-latin characters only, so any foreign language characters, like Chinese among many others. Or at the very least test to make sure it does not contain any latin characters. Could I use a regular expression for this? What would be the best approach for this? I am validating in both javaScript and in PHP. What solutions can I use to check for foreign characters in the input field in both programming languages?

  What I'm planning to do is a) parse a file for some lines matching a regular expression b) store the match in some sort of database / file so I don't have to do the parsing again and again c) call another program passing the matches as arguments While I can imagine how to do a) and c), I'm a little bit unsure about b). The matches are of the form key:attribute1:attribute2:attribute3 where attribute 2 may be optional. I'm thinking of storing the results in a simple database but the problem is the database needs to available on a number of Unix platform for the program to work. Are there any (simple) databases which can be found on any Unix platforms? Or should I use some sort of index-sequential file?

  I have a drop down list with known values. What I'm trying to do is set the drop down list to a particular value that I know exists using jQuery. Using regular JavaScript, I would do something like: ddl = document.getElementById("ID of element goes here"); ddl.value = 2; // 2 being the value I want to set it to. However, I need to do this with jQuery because I'm using a CSS class for my selector (stupid ASP.NET client ids...). Here are a few things I've tried: $("._statusDDL").val(2); // doesn't find 2 as a value $("._statusDDL").children("option").val(2) // also failed. How can I do it with jQuery?
