• Search Complexity of a Hashtable within a Hashtable?

  Say we have a hashtable of size m, and at each bucket we store a hashtable of size p. What would the worst case/average case search complexity be? I am inclined to say that since computing a hash function is still atomic, the only worst case scenario is if the value is at the end of the linked list in the hashtable of size p, so O(n)? I have no idea how to calculate the average case for this scenario and would appreciate any pointers!

  I have a situation where I need to, when in Radgrid Edit Mode and user makes a selection on a contained dropdownlist, display a modalPopup containing a Checkboxlist populated with data that relates to dropdownlist selection. When Selections are made on the checkboxlist, and OK button clicked, I want to return to the RadGrid Edit template, and populate a textbox in the template with the checkbox selected information. Anyone have a clear idea of how I ought to handle this. An example will be greatly appreciated please.

• Silverlight- bad mouse position when embedded in html page when Firefox has zoom

  We have a Silverlight control embedded in an html page. When I zoom the html page in FireFox 3.5 (ctrl - +) and then try to click on something in the Silverlight control the mouse input is not taken at the correct place. I have to click above the control to get it. This behavior can be seen here: http://silverlight.codeplex.com/ Any idea how to fix this?

• Android ListAdapter Repaint

  Hi, i have the following problem. I fill a ListView with a custom ArrayAdapter with data from a BD. However, in background, i'm updating those datas from the info provided by an API, so the idea is when the update finish, the adapter shows the updated data instead its "old version". The problem is that when i do that, i notice a lag while the adapter is updating itself. Is the any efficient solution to avoid this? Thanks

  I have a custom timer that extends android.os.CountDownTimer. I have a test in the test project (standard Android/Eclipse project config) that tests the custom Timer. When I try to run this test, I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: android/os/CountDownTimer at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:698) You get the idea. Can I not run code that references android code code in junit test?

• Help w/ Sluggish "rake cucumber"

  I've been trying to debug some super slow performance in running my cucumber features. I've run various calls through ruby-prof and think I see the bottlenecks (not too familiar with using ruby-prof) but do not know the cause or more important the solution.   Hi. I have a ShockwaveFlash embeded in excel. This SWF need 1 dynamic flashvar to run. I need to set it just before flash file is loaded, so flash can run without problems. Something like this. Private Sub Worksheet_Activate() ShockwaveFlash1.FlashVars = "DynamicData=123" ShockwaveFlash1.Play End Sub But it doesnt work. Ideas? PD: Macros was my first idea, any other solution could be better.

Everything else is ok, but I can not figure out how to refresh the progress bar inside the notification. Does anybody knows any pattern to play with? • Can't remember the website for downloading common tools after reinstall

  I remember a while back finding a website for downloading lots of common tools in one go after a system reinstall. It had a dark background and checkboxes for selecting the tools (browsers, editors, readers, im clients, etc.). After selecting the tools it downloaded a file which went away, downloaded everything you'd selected and then performed an install on each of the different apps.
