  • Best game engine 2D for iOS

    which is the best 2D game enginefor iOS? I really need a game engine that allows me to modify the game code because I need to control the multi-touch events. I have a framework that detects the gesture that the player makes and I need to test this gesture recognizer in a game, so I have to have the freedom to change the game code. I don't want anything like GameSalad where you can't control anything. Thanks in advance.

  • Why doesn't Ubuntu detect my second hard drive?

    I am new to Linux and to Ubuntu, I was wondering, I have two hard drives setup in SATA ports (non-raid, at least I don't think they are). I installed ubuntu unto the drives fresh without any previous versions or windows at all. However when I got the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS working, all I see is 1 x 120 gigabyte harddrive. Also, not sure if this is important or not, my hard drives are SSD.   • LibGDX - Textures rendering at wrong position

    Update 2: Let me further explain my problem since I think that i didn't make it clear enough: The Y-coordinates on the bottom of my screen should be 0. Instead it is the height of my screen. That means the "higher" i touch/click the screen the less my y-coordinate gets. Above that the origin is not inside my screen, atleast not the 0 y-coordinate. Original post: I'm currently developing a tower defence game for fun by using LibGDX. There are places on my map where the player is or is not allowed to put towers on. So I created different ArrayLists holding rectangles representing a tile on my map. It is easily accessible from the GNOME desktop Places menu: I just click that Filesystem HDD icon on the Places menu and it is automatically mount as '/media/1326f40a-45df-4ec'. How do I make that partition re-mount as /home instead? (permanently, that is)

    If considering to develop a web browser based game with multiple people and it's an RPG, click to move would probably be the only choice in movement right? Because if you were to use WASD and then ajax to the server every second that a player held on to the WASD key, that'd be pretty resource intensive if the server had to calculate the position and return the map image, assuming the next few screens are already buffered right? or is there a way to implement a WASD style and still have server side do all the calculations. (server side calculations to avoid cheating)

    I have a character in a 3D world which is facing an arbitrary direction on a flat plane, the player can click on the left or right side of the character and based on which side is clicked on a different action happens. How can I determine which side the click occured on? Obviously for straight on ahead (0,0,1) I can simply use the x coordinate of the click point to determine if it's the left or right hand side, but what about other cases?

    I'm trying to view the entire contents of my iPhone in Ubuntu 10.04. I'm able to mount and view the digital media folders, but I'm looking for behavior more like the Mac/Windows iExplorer app that will list the /var folder as well as Applications, etc rather than just making it look like an external filesystem. I've found a few options that require jailbreak but I'd rather not go that route if it's at all possible. Thanks!

    I am trying to install VMWare Workstation 6.5.5 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 10.04 (64-bit), but at about 2/3 of the progress bar, it freezes where it says: Installing VMWare Player 2.5.5 Configuring... Interestingly, it is so frozen, that even after I hit cancel, it is still stuck. CPU consumption is at 0% and the command with which I launched the installer is: sudo sh VMware-Workstation-6.5.5-328052.x86_64.bundle Anyone has seen this before? Any idea why this is happening and how to solve this?
