  I do not want NetworkManager to list or manipulate my wireless card. Can I hide its interface from NetworkManager somehow? I have tried adding this in /etc/network/interfaces, iface wlan0 inet static address 192.168.1.101 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.1 wireless-essid Synaptotagmin pre-up wpa_supplicant -B -i wlan0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf post-down killall -q wpa_supplicant and this in /etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf, [keyfile] unmanaged-devices=/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/net_00_19_e0_57_86_af but NetworkManager Applet still lists and allows me to connect to wireless networks.

  This is a follow up to my previous question: link text In gridview's column i have a linkbutton and a label under it. I want to hide/unhide label when linkbutton is clicked. I use javascript because i don't want any postbacks.   My rails app gets the following JSON feed from mixcloud and sticks the results into my index page At the moment when I do this, the entire contents of my feed are displayed unformatted in one big blob of scary looking text (without the curly JSON brackets) I only want to display specific values from the feed in the view. From the feed in question lets say for simplicity that I just wanted to display all values with a key of "url" In case I'm doing something wrong here's my code: # podcast controller def index # I'm using a class method to get the feed @feed = Podcast.feed end # podcast model def self.feed feed = JSON.parse(open("http://api.mixcloud.com/alivefrommaryhill/feed").read) end # index.html.haml .feed = @feed I can't figure out how to style the results and display only certain items from the feed. • Achieving decoupling in Model classes

  I am trying to test-drive (or at least write unit tests) my Model classes but I noticed that my classes end up being too coupled. Since I can't break this coupling, writing unit tests is becoming harder and harder. To be more specific: Model Classes: These are the classes that hold the data in my application. They resemble pretty much the POJO (plain old Java objects), but they also have some methods. The application is not too big so I have around 15 model classes. Coupling: Just to give an example, think of a simple case of Order Header - Order Item. The header knows the item and the item knows the header (needs some information from the header for performing certain operations). Then, let's say there is the relationship between Order Item - Item Report. The item report needs the item as well. At this point, imagine writing tests for Item Report; you need have a Order Header to carry out the tests. This is a simple case with 3 classes; things get more complicated with more classes. I can come up with decoupled classes when I design algorithms, persistence layers, UI interactions, etc... but with model classes, I can't think of a way to separate them. They currently sit as one big chunk of classes that depend on each other. Here are some workarounds that I can think of: Data Generators: I have a package that generates sample data for my model classes. For example, the OrderHeaderGenerator class creates OrderHeaders with some basic data in it. I use the OrderHeaderGenerator from my ItemReport unit-tests so that I get an instance to OrderHeader class. The problem is these generators get complicated pretty fast and then I also need to test these generators; defeating the purpose a little bit. Interfaces instead of dependencies: I can come up with interfaces to get rid of the hard dependencies. For example, the OrderItem class would depend on the IOrderHeader interface. So, in my unit tests, I can easily mock the behaviour of an OrderHeader with a FakeOrderHeader class that implements the IOrderHeader interface. The problem with this approach is the complexity that the Model classes would end up having. Would you have other ideas on how to break this coupling in the model classes? Or, how to make it easier to unit-test the model classes?

  I'm unable to display any of the User Relationships' auto-created blocks in any of my sidebars. I have tried enabling all modules and permissions I can think of, with no success. The block I'm most interested in is the block that would allow users to be invited to an existing relationship (e.g. Friend), but as I say this nor any of the other blocks display. Other Drupal blocks and custom blocks display just fine. The blocks do show up in the blocks listing, and I've tried different ways of configuring them. Any help, or even confirmation that someone has been able to do this with the latest stable versions of Drupal and the User Relationships module, would be appreciated. Thank you.

• Problem creating calculations 'engine' in two class java calculator

  i have hit a brick wall whilst attempting to create a two class java calculator but have been unsuccessful so far in getting it working. i have the code for an interface which works and displays ok but creating a seperate class 'CalcEngine' to do the actual calculations has proven to be beyond me. I'd appreciate it if someone could kick start things for me and create a class calcEngine which works with the interface class and allows input when from single button i.e. if one is pressed on the calc then 1 displays onscreen. please note i'm not asking someone to do the whole thing for me as i want to learn and i'm confident i can do the rest including addition subtraction etc. once i get over the obstacle of getting the two classes to communicate. any and all assistance would be very much appreciated.   Hello, My landing page contains a big google maps portion, which slows down the loading time. I am trying to do the following: Load the static elements first so the page loads fast initially. Display a loading notification in the map placeholder so that the user knows that the map is coming up Load and display the map I have done this: $(document).ready(function() { map_initialize(); } map_initialize() being the function which loads the map into its container div. However, this still will not display the static elements fist. The page will wait until the map_initialize() is finished, then load the static elements at the same time as the map. Thanks,

  I am working on python and biopython right now. I have a file upload form and whatever file is uploaded suppose(abc.fasta) then i want to pass same name in execute (abc.fasta) function parameter and display function parameter (abc.aln). Right now i am changing file name manually, but i want to have it automatically. Workflow goes like this. ----If submit is not true then display only header and form part --- if submit is true then call execute() and get file name from form input --- Then display the save file result in the same page.   I have an Activity that will display a custom view made up of 2 parts. I want one part to be 1/3 of visible screen height, the other part to be 2/3. I can override onMeasure and use display metrics to find the height of the display, but this does not account for the battery bar or view title sizes. DisplayMetrics dm = new DisplayMetrics(); ((WindowManager)contxt.getSystemService(Context.WINDOW_SERVICE)).getDefaultDisplay().getMetrics(dm); int height = dm.heightPixels; How can I tell the height of the displayable area? I'm prepared to override the layout or whatever. What is the Android best practices? I've seen other questions along this line, but they are inconclusive.

  Hey all, I was hoping someone can answer this question for me. I am trying to display wall posts, photos and videos for a certain user for example http://www.facebook.com/sony. I can see the wall posts, photos and videos without signing up for Facebook. Do I need to use the facebook connect API to access the photos and and videos for sony so that I can display them in my iPhone application? I need to display the wall posts as a table view and the images and videos as a gallery very much like how the facebook app displays it. Any help or a API specific page would be appreciated.   I have a main build script that calls various targets. One of these targets needs to store a value and another target needs to display it. Obviously this is not working so I think it may be related to scope. I've tried var, property, and declaring the property outside of target1. Since var seems to be mutable, it looks like I need to use it instead, but each time my output is empty. For example, I pick up Java to write cucumber step definitions that instruct a selenium webdriver.   Helo, I have a two Grid where I have to display some records from the table. The table consists of employee names ,manager names and their comments. Now on the first gird I am fetching data of employee names. Now on the second grid I have to display data of manager names and their comments. The data is on the same table. On show button of the first grid it shows all the employees. then on AdvWebGrid.ClickLink or any selected user on the first grid , i have to display the manager names and their comments on the second grid.
