    Hello All, I am new to web application development, so sorry in advance if this question is too basic. The following are the details of the question: A] Platform being used -- google app engine with python, django. B] Tutorial link being used -- http://code.google.com/appengine/articles/djangoforms.html C] Question: In the application i am building, there is a drop down box which allows the user to select their country. Since the list of countries is above 200, i want to construct a database of the countries before the application loads. Once this application is deployed, i dont want the database to get re-loaded again, since the entries are constant for all the users. How does one achieve this ? thanks, Lance.

    Switching aged 2003 SRV to 2008 caused my Asp.net 2 application fail: The application is no more loading the required library DLL from /bin/ folder anymore. What should I change in my code or web.config to make this webapp load OK also in new 2008 server? Now I receive this error when I access the application: This type is in IMPORTS ( Dll ). Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type 'Facebook.Entity.User' is not defined.

  • Is this the way I should deploy a asp.net application

    I have a solution containing asp.net project class library WCF service class library WCF service application I've added a project refference from the asp.net project to the class library project and to the service class library project. I've published the asp.net application, loaded it to the webserver root. all ok. Now for the service, I've created a new folder on the root called WCF, and placed the aplication in there. Is this The way I should deploy the sollution? Are this the steps when you have more than a simple asp.net application? PS: How do I change that WCF folder to make it an application trough a control panel because I get this:http://surveillancecamera.somee.com/WCF. The reason why I get this is described here:

    I am using a namespace called ComShorCaliburnWPF.ViewModules.Views.ShortMenuWindows.GWDSCT on my View.xaml and View.cs, for my ViewModel.cs and my IoC container I am using ComShorCaliburnWPF.ViewModules.Views.ShortMenuWindows.GWDSCT. When I remove the GWDSCT at the end it works fine, but in its current state it does not. I would like it to work how it is now because it accurately reflects where the files are located. Any suggestions?

I tried adding a exe file to startup folder. But he is loading some 2-3 thing and then my app and I see windows desktop normally. Is it possible to load it directly?   • iOS Downloading Videos and saving in Application Support folder

    In my application, i've to download videos around 10 to my application and play accordingly. Each video is around 50 MB. I'm using following code and then after downloading the video, i'm saving it to Application support folder to avoid icloud sync. But the problem is that when downloading the videos its crashing. [NSURLConnection sendAsynchronousRequest:req queue:[[NSOperationQueue alloc] init] completionHandler:^(NSURLResponse *response, NSData *rcvdDat, NSError * err) { . . . } What I'm thinking is that, while downloading the video, it resides in memory and so the total memory occupying by the app is increasing. Finally iOS is making the app to close. I would like to download the video and when ever a stream of data received, write to temp file and when completes move it to application support folder. Can some one help me on how to write it to file and save it at the end? I cannot use 3rd party libraries (unless its small) due to legal issues.

    I'm using WinXP and here is my question: I run an application, such as Chrome, there would be one app in the task bar, and it's fine. Suppose a new window of Chrome opened(so there would be 2 window and 2 in the task bar), and when I close that,the 2nd one, the whole application just shutdown. And so does chrome, firefox, evernote, Becky!(the email client), even TortoiseSVN. So I think there should be a generic problem cause these applications shutdown, such as the platform - WinXP. Please give me some advice or hint, anything comes to your mind would be helpful!

  • Accessing Application Server directly by public IP in citrix Farm

    I have an citrix application server in SiteB and I have a Farm in SiteA. We want to add this server into that Farm in SiteB, and access it from the internet via web interface. SiteA and SiteB are connected via VPN. But we would like to do that in a way the ICA traffic goes directly to the application server public IP (behind NAT) in siteB without using siteA and the VPN to route this traffic. Do you know if this is posible? Maybe there is a way to change the host in the ica file for this server in the webinterface (without editing manually each time)? We are using Citrix 4.5.     Hi, I would like to add some debugs for my simple ruby functions and I wrote a function as below, def debug(&block) varname = block.call.to_s puts "#{varname} = #{eval(varname,block)}" end debug {:x} #prints x = 5 debug {:y} #prints y = 5 I understand that eval is evil. So I have two questions. Is there any way to write that debug method without using eval? If NO is there a preferred way to do this? Is there any way to pass a list of arguments to this method? I would ideally prefer debug {:x, :y. :anynumOfvariables}. I could not quite figure out how to factor that into the debug method (i.e, to take a list of arguments)

    I have three models, user, achievement, badge and I plan on using has_many :through instead of has_many_and_belongs_to since I will have a few extra fields in the join tables. According to a Railscast I watched, using this method requires coming up with new model names and not user_badge or user_achievement. For my User Achievement join what do you think of Accomplishment?   • Specify build folder for iphone application

    I've written an app that uses some of the user's camera roll images, and while it does so it stores them in the application root directory. The problem I have is that whenever I re-compile my application it changes the folder to which the application is installed. Is there any way I can specify which folder it should build to, so that any path information stored during it's last run will still be valid?
