this code is supposed to be used in VB. port number and IP address is available. how to prevent packets from entering is to be known. Its similar to the work a FireWall does.

Does MySQL have any equivalent feature to Oracle's virtual private databases in 10g. It is also known as row level security.
I prefer not to implement anything like columns and triggers. I am looking for a solution similar to Oracle's.
Hello,

Is is possible to draw controls using Visual C++ designer on the main window, in the same way you can design dialogs? I'd preferably like to be able to design the main window controls this way without using MFC, rather than creating them on WM_CREATE.
EDIT: I don't want a dialog-based app, just to be able to design the main window graphically similar to what can be done using Windows Forms Designer in .NET?
Is there a quick way to convert a float value to a byte wise (hex) representation in a QByteArray?
Have done similar with memcpy() before using arrays, but this doesn't seem to work too well with QByteArray.
For example:
memcpy(&byteArrayData,&floatData,sizeof(float));
Can go the other way just fine using:
float *value= (float *)byteArrayData.data();
Am I just implementing this wrong or is there a better way to do it using Qt?
Thanks
Hi i am not able to show up Fusion charts using RoR 2.3.5, just trying to showup the single_series array method for 3d bar graph
Anybody has similar issue ? please help
Hi,
I have just started looking at JqueryMobile and want to know if the following is possible?
I want to be able to select a file (similar to in html) and then show some sort of dialogue that allows me to browse to a "folder" and select the file. It would then be up to me to send some sort of AJAX command to upload it to the server (where I am using Asp.net MVC 2)
Since I do not have access to an iPhone or iPad, I was told that I would only have access to the documents folder.

I am working with a list view. I want a column to have look similar to the document library column named "Type (icon linked to document)" column. I should also be able to set the path this hyperlinked icon should open. I tried a lot with existing site columns but could still not figure out how to do this. Has anyone implemented this earlier. Please share your expertise. Thanks in advance.
I've found information about Editor and Detail templates based on object name (i.e. DateTime, MyCustomObject) for use with MVC system. I am just wondering if it was possible for creating templates for use when creating the items in a similar fashion, where the form used for Creating the items is going to be different than the Editing Screen.
Can any one explain how are the concepts of process and threads implemented in Linux kernel ? I am looking for an intuitive explanation with some C snippets ( and important data structures) that clearly distinguishes between the two. I am just looking for the key implementation ideas I should get hold off. Essentially, I want to understand them and implement something similar in an embedded target (not supporte by any OS) in C language.
I really like how 37signals created a simplified Q&A site (i.e. simplified StackExchange)
http://answers.37signals.com/basecamp
Does anyone know of a free, self-hosted, open-source software implementation that is similar to simplified functionality of 37signals implementation of a Q&A site?
I'm pretty sure that a Windows service gets C:\winnt (or similar) as its working directory when installed using InstallUtil.exe. Is there any way I can access, or otherwise capture (at install time), the directory from which the service was originally installed? At the moment I'm manually entering that into the app.exe.config file, but that's horribly manual and feels like a hack.
Is there a programmatic way, either at run time or install time, to determine where the service was installed from?
For example in Java for Data Transfer Object I use as:
ExampleDTO exampleDTO = new ExampleDTO();
What naming convention should I follow for similar in Python?
Hi there,
can anyone tell me if there is a tool for creating the strongly typed classes (available via the schema) - i suppose similar to Paste as XML type ..
But i was hoping for a tool that i could run to automatically update the classes automatically when there are changes
Does anyone know if something like this exists?
I have something like that:
to_days(now()) < to_days(birth)
It work but instead of comparing days I was to compare the time too. Is there a similar function?
I imagine I should use Regex for that but I still scratch my head a lot about it (and the only similar question I found wasn't exactly my case) so I decided to ask for help. This is the input and expected output:
Input: "c-0.68219,-0.0478 -1.01455-0.0441 0.2321e-4,0.43212"
Output:"c -0.68219,-0.0478 -1.01455 -0.0441 0.2321e-4,0.43212"
Basically I need either commas or spaces as value separators, but I can't break the exponential index (e-4). Maybe do two successive replacements?
I'm using python 2.5 in windows on a macbook pro with IDLE. How do I get previously typed commands in the python shell? In other operating systems I've managed to do this using 'ctrl' + 'up arrow' or a similar combination. I've tried all likely combinations without success.
Thanks.
Hello, guys.
I've some problem with iframe at the WordPress admin panel. Can you tell how to remove it? and how to secure WordPress with similar problems?
Just something I'd like to play with, I would like to create a "virtual" file/directory in the File System of Linux or Mac OS X (Not sure if I can share the same code - does POSIX help?), for example /foo and then perform custom code when something is read or written to it.
Similar how /dev/null allows for stuff like
echo "Hello!" > /dev/null
I don't care if it's in /dev, /proc or anywhere else, as said it's mainly something to play with...
I am trying to do an app, to where when it launches, it will detect audio, and then play it back automatically. NO BUTTONS, NOthing to press. Just a picture of something then, it listens for audio, then plays it back. Similar to the Talking Carl app in the App Store. Any ideas/help? Would appreciate it, if i could use the code with IB.
I'm working on a deadlock detection algorithm and I'm only given kernel level libraries, i.e. #include <linux/somelibrary> and nothing else. Are there kernel-level facilities that will allow me to get the pid of the current process similar to getpid() of unistd.h?
Is there any way to create something similar to this:
class F[A] {def apply(a: A) = println(a)}
So that I can:
(new F[Int*])(1,2,3)
UPDATE: but otherwise, I want F to accept normal parameters:
(new F[Int])(1)
Why does ZeroMemory, and similar calls exist in the Windows API when there are memset and related calls in the C standard library already? Which ones should I call? I can guess the answer is "depends". On what?
I'm trying to figure out if its possible for programmers to build an itunes client app for iphone or android where the user has the option to browse and listen to the song preview, something similar to this page: itunes link maker
I greatly appreciate any pointers or links in this direction
thanks
