StackOverFlowException - but oviously NO recursion/endless loop

Hi there, I'm now blocked by this problem the entire day, read thousands of google results, but nothing seems to reflect my problem or even come near to it... i hope any of you has a push into the right direction for me. I wrote a client-server-application (so more like 2 applications) - the client collects data about his system, as well as a screenshot, serializes all this into a XML stream (the picture as a byte[]-array]) and sends this to the server in regular intervals. The server receives the stream (via tcp), deserializes the xml to an information-object and shows the information on a windows form. This process is running stable for about 20-25 minutes at a submission interval of 3 seconds. When observing the memory usage there's nothing significant to see, also kinda stable. But after these 20-25 mins the server throws a StackOverflowException at the point where it deserializes the tcp-stream, especially when setting the Image property from the byte[]-array. Calling function using 'new' is less expensive than without it?

Given this very familiar model of prototypal construction: function Rectangle(w,h) { this.width = w; this.height = h; } Rectangle.prototype.area = function() { return this.width * this.height; }; Can anyone explain why calling "new Rectangle(2,3)" is consistently 10x FASTER than calling "Rectangle(2,3)" without the 'new' keyword? I would have assumed that because new adds more complexity to the execution of a function by getting prototypes involved, it would be slower. How to make += operator keep the object reference?

Say, I have a class: class M { public int val; And also a + operator inside it: public static M operator +(M a, M b) { M c = new M(); c.val = a.val + b.val; return c; } } And I've got a List of the objects of the class: List<M> ms = new List(); M obj = new M(); obj.val = 5; ms.Add(obj); Some other object: M addie = new M(); addie.val = 3; I can do this: ms[0] += addie; and it surely works as I expect - the value in the list is changed. But if I want to do M fromList = ms[0]; fromList += addie; it doesn't change the value in ms for obvious reasons. But intuitively I expect ms[0] to also change after that. Really, I pick the object from the list and then I increase it's value with some other object. So, since I held a reference to ms[0] in fromList before addition, I want still to hold it in fromList after performing it. Are there any ways to achieve that?

Teamcity build agent gives 504 gateway timeout

I have a new teamcity build agent machine, which when started up tries to connect to the build server and fails. It never shows up in the connected, disconnected or unauthorised agents tabs of the build server web interface. The logs on the build agent show that it fails to connect with a 504 gateway timeout. Other VMS with similar configuration can connect fine and do not report this error. What can possibly be preventing this connection?

Exchange 2010 DAG Automatic Failover Testing/Issue. Not always automatically failing over to health

Ok I've got 2 exchange 2010 servers that run client access/hub transport/mailbox roles and one exchange 2010 server running just client access/hub transport roles and acts as my bridgehead. The two mailbox servers are running one database setup in a DAG. Server A shows the DB Mounted and Server B shows Healthy. If I reboot Server A via windows GUI Server B switches from healthy to mounted and I see hardly any interruption in service using Outlook 2007. Server A shows "Service down", then "Failed" then "Healthy" and leaves the DB mounted on Server B. This is how it should work, so far so good. Now if I test Server A being shut down cold, or unplugging both nics from network to simulate failure, Server B switches from Healthy to Mounted and server A switches to "Service Down" but my outlook client never connects to the DB mounted on server B! I can connect to server C (client access/hub transport) and get to my email and even send new email out, but incoming email doesn't deliver until Server A is brought back online and it's DB goes back to Healthy status. So I don't understand why it auto fail-overs when I reboot the server with the mounted DB copy, causing very little outlook 2007 hiccup if any. But when I shutdown or DC the mounted DB server it DOES mount the healthy copy but outlook 2007 clients can't connect.. I hope the picture I'm trying to paint makes some sense, it's driving me a little batty. Any help would be appreciated!

postfix + opendkim not signing correctly. how to debug this?

EDIT: I did get a little further but all posts on my search say permissions are wrong or regenerate key but I fixed that to be 644 as well as owned by DKIM AND I keep regenerating the key but it is not helping. I even add the "LogWhy Yes" line to my opendkim.conf file as well and still see no logs there. Since I see opendkim running under user opendkim, I changed the owner of /etc/opendkim/* and /etc/opendkim and /etc/opendkim.conf all to opendkim user. I am running on ubuntu. How much network latency is "typical" for east - west coast USA?

At the moment we're trying to decide whether to move our datacenter from the west coast to the east coast. However, I am seeing some disturbing latency numbers from my west coast location to the east coast. Here's a sample result, retrieving a small .png logo file in Google Chrome and using the dev tools to see how long the request takes: West coast to east coast: 215 ms latency, 46 ms transfer time, 261 ms total West coast to west coast: 114 ms latency, 41 ms transfer time, 155 ms total It makes sense that Corvallis, OR is geographically closer to my location in Berkeley, CA so I expect the connection to be a bit faster.. but I'm seeing an increase in latency of +100ms when I perform the same test to the NYC server. That seems .. excessive to me. Particularly since the time spent transferring the actual data only increased 10%, yet the latency increased 100%! That feels... wrong... to me. I found a few links here that were helpful (through Google no less!) ... Does routing distance affect performance significantly? How does geography affect network latency? Latency in Internet connections from Europe to USA ... but nothing authoritative. So, is this normal? It doesn't feel normal. What is the "typical" latency I should expect when moving network packets from the east coast <--> west coast of the USA?

Server Names Inside Private Network

Our office has a private network, where any requests on a (pre-determined) public IP are forwarded to a private IP inside said network. On that private IP, we've got a server running several services, including HTTP servers, and SCM systems. We only control our private network, having no control on the public IP configuration. We bought a domain name, and pointed it to that public IP, so people can access our services from the outside. But, when inside the office, people can't use that DNS name, because the server and any other hosts inside the network share the same public IP! For desktops, inside the office network, dealing with names is really easy: one entry on the hosts file and we're done. However, for laptops, that keep going in and out, and need to access services inside the office, the naming is really annoying. I don't know the "standard" process for dealing with these kind of situations. I've considered installing BIND in the office, and make people configure their wireless and wired connections to use that DNS server. What is the correct approach in this situation? If using BIND (or any other DNS server) is the answer, how should I configure it so that people inside the office can use it to get our custom names, and get forwarded to the ISP DNS when trying to reach the internet?

We're using Exchange 2007 Managed Folders to route e-mails to this repository based on the 'label' attached to the e-mail as set in the Exchange 2007 journaling options. E-mails added to a Managed Folder get sent to SharePoint, they end up in the "Submitted E-mail Records" list of the Records Repository. That's according to plan, but the e-mails are not routed to the respective document library as defined by the label. Instead an error appears in the event viewer for every e-mail listed in the Submitted E-mail Records list, on every interval of the records repository schedule (set to every two minutes for testing purposes): Value cannot be null, parameter name: g. Sending a document from the SharePoint site iself to the Records Repository via the Send To... link works fine, but e-mails get stuck in the list... We have set Document Libraries in the Respository with and without content types (with matching names with the Label and the Record Routing rule set). Any ideas what could be wrong? Cooling Server Closet - No A/C Is Possible

We're moving into a new office in an old building in London (that's England :) and are walling off a 2m x 1.3m area where the router & telephone equipment currently terminates to use as a server closet. The closet will contain: 2 24-port switches 1 router 1 VSDL modem 1 Dell desktop 1 4-bay NAS 1 HP micro-server 1 UPS Miscellaneous minor telephony boxes. There is no central A/C in the office and there never will be. We can install ducting to the outside quite easily - it's only a couple of metres to the windows, which face a courtyard. My question is whether installing an extractor fan with ducting to the window should be sufficient for cooling? Would an intake fan and intake duct (from the window, too) be required? We don't want to leave a gap in the closet door as that'll let noise out into the office. If we don't have to put a portable A/C unit into the closet, that'd be perfect. The office has about 12 people; London is temperate, average maximum in August is 31 Celsius, 25 Celsius is more typical. The same equipment runs fine in our current office (same building as new office, also no A/C) but it isn't in an enclosed space. I can see us putting say one Dell 2950 tower server into the closet, but no more than that. So, sustained power consumption in the closet would currently be about 800w (I'm guessing); possibly in the future 2kw. The closet will have a ceiling and no windows and be well-insulated. We don't care if the equipment runs hot, so long as it runs and we don't hear it.

Difference in performance: local machine VS amazon medium instance

I see a drastic difference in performance matrix when i run it with apache benchmark (ab) in my local machine VS production hosted in amazon medium instance. Same concurrent requests (5) and same total number of requests (111) has been run against both. Amazon has better memory than my local machine. But there are 2 CPUs in my local machine vs 1 CPU in m1.medium. My internet speed is very low at the moment, I am getting Transfer rate as 25.29KBps. How can I improve the performance ? Do not know how to interpret Connect, Processing, Waiting and total in ab output. AWS elastic load balancer basic issues

I have an array of EC2 t1.micro instances behind a load balancer and each node can manage ~100 concurrent users before it starts to get wonky. i would THINK if i have 2 such instances it would allow my network to manage 200 concurrent users... apparently not. When i really slam the server (blitz.io) with a full 275 concurrents, it behaves the same as if there is just one node. it goes from 400ms response time to 1.6 seconds (which for a single t1.micro is expected, but not 6). So the question is, am i simply not doing something right or is ELB effectively worthless? Anyone have some wisdom on this? Strange network issue (ZIP file fails CRC test over VPN)

We have a server in the office running Windows Server 2003 Our office is connected to our datacenter via hardware VPN (Linksys RV082 router in the office to CISCO router in the datacenter). There is a job that runs on the server in the office that does following: ZIP certain files from the server using 7Zip, copy ZIP file to a network share in the office and verify ZIP integrity, copy ZIP file to a network share in the data center and verify ZIP integrity. Problem is - verifying ZIP integrity for the file in the data center always fails. However, if I run 7Zip on the server in data center that exposes that share ZIP file verifies just fine, so it is not actually corrupted during copy operation. Additionally, I tried running ZIP on other computers in the office to verify ZIP file on datacenter file share and it verifies OK. I tried plugging server to the same network port where my workstation is connected using different cable (my workstation doesn't exhibit this problem) and ZIP verification still fails. So the problem is local to that specific server. On network adapter properties for the server in question there is no "Advanced" tab where one can usually configure a lot of network settings. Network card driver is up to date (Windows Update doesn't find anything newer and Lenovo website doesn't have any drivers for Windows 2003 for this computer model). Is there any other way to configure network setting via command line? What settings could be relevant to this problem?

403 error after adding javascript to masterpage for sharepoint.

I am attempting to add highslide-with-html.js from http://highslide.com/ to my masterpage. I am receiving a 403 forbidden error when I use the provided masterpage. I have placed it in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033. Test javascript files such as pirate.js which consists solely of alert("Arr!"); have loaded from the same directory. I have provided the code for the masterpage. Hi, I tried to use this logic http://www.databasejournal.com/features/msaccess/article.php/3752701/Secure-Microsoft-Access-Passwords-and-Encryption-in-Access-2007.htm I have an existing access database 2007, i want to encrypt it, when i tried to implement the 128-bit from the above link, unfortunately when i open the DB in notepad i don't see Microsoft cryptographic 1.0 encryption although i followed the exact steps. In Excel 2007 it is possible to scale a pictureLink object (created with the Camera Tool) using the following VBA code. With ActiveWorkbook.Sheets(sht).Pictures(name) .ShapeRange.ScaleWidth scaleValue, msoTrue .ShapeRange.ScaleHeight scaleValue, msoTrue .top = top .left = left End With This code places the picture correctly in 2010, but the scaleValue is ignored. The 2010 Excel documentation is patchy on this subject. The same code works fine in Excel 2007.
