  According to this article, it's possible to get multiline XML comments -- instead of using ///, use /** */. This is my interpretation of what multiline comments are, and what I want to have happen: /** * <summary> * this comment is on line 1 in the tooltip * this comment is on line 2 in the tooltip * </summary> */ However, when I use this form, the tooltip that pops up when I hover over my class name in my code is single-line, i.e. it looks exactly as if I had written my comment like this: /// <summary> /// this comment is on line 1 in the tooltip /// this comment is on line 2 in the tooltip /// </summary> Is this behavior actually possible still in VS2008?

  So I'm having a very strange error right now. I found where it happens, and here's the simplest code that can reproduce it. def parse_ops(str_in): c_type = "operator" def c_dat_check_type(t): print c_type #c_type = t c_dat_check_type("number") >>> parse_ops("12+a*2.5") If you run it as-is, it prints "operator".   How can I set the y axis range of the second subplot to e.g. [0,1000] ?   If i try to read a CSV file called csv_file.csv. The problem is that when i read lines with BufferedReader.readLine() it skips the first line with months. But when i rename the file to csv_file.txt it reads it allright and it's not skipping the first line. Is there an undocumented "feature" of BufferedReader that i'm not aware?   I have the following lexer rules in my grammar file: LINE : 'F' | 'G'; RULE : (('->' ('F' | 'G')) => 'F' | 'G' ) | LINE LINE + | LINE * (ROTATE + LINE+)+ ; fragment ROTATE : ('/' | '\\'); I'm basically trying to match productions that look like F - F/F\F\F/F. It successfully matches stuff like the above, but I'm guessing there's a problem with my syntactic predicate, since G - G produces a MismatchedTokenException. The predicate serves to disambiguate between single letters on the lhs of '-', which I want to be recognized as the LINE token, and those on the rhs, which should be RULEs. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

  I've a problem about whitespaces and new lines at the beginning of a textarea. I send a json string with ajax to the php script. Then I decode the string into an php array (with json_decode). So I have a string in this array with two line breaks at the beginning. If a print the text from the array, the line breaks are there, but if I store the text into the mysql database, the line breaks are gone... Only at the beginning of the string, the line breaks gone... At the rest of the string, the line breaks are ok. Thanks for your answers! rob

  I'm attempting to initialise a string variable in C++, and the value is so long that it's going to exceed the 80 character per line limit I'm working to, so I'd like to split it to the next line, but I'm not sure how to do that. I know that when splitting the contents of a stream across multiple lines, the syntax goes like cout << "This is a string" << "This is another string"; Is there an equivalent for variable assignment, or do I have to declare multiple variables and concatenate them? Edit: I misspoke when I wrote the initial question. When I say 'next line', I'm just meaning the next line of the script. When it is printed upon execution, I would like it to be on the same line.

  Hi all, I've searched the web and I can't seem to find anything that will work for me. I've seen plenty of discussion, and even some fairly extensible open-source tools, for code editors that provide line numbers and syntax highlighting. Here's my dilemma... I'm working on a "digital code review" project in C#.NET that allows users to specify source files, add them to a particular session, and other users can make comments and line references to the files being reviewed. Basic requirements: Must be written in C#.NET I don't need to be able to edit the text in the text box Users need to be able to select a line (or multiple lines), to make line references. It seems to me that I need some fancy implementation of a ListBox control (not a drop-down list) that has some OwnerDraw capabilities to add line numbers and syntax highlighting. Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck putting it together myself, and I can't seem to find a control that's already been written or a reference on how I might be able to accomplish this. Any suggestions??
