• Maven2 - problem with pluginManagement and parent-child relationship

Plugin Management contains plugin elements in much the same way, except that rather than configuring plugin information for this particular project build, it is intended to configure project builds that inherit from this one. However, this only configures plugins that are actually referenced within the plugins element in the children. The children have every right to override pluginManagement definitions. Now : if I have this in my parent POM <build> <pluginManagement> <plugins> <plugin> <artifactId>maven-dependency-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.0</version> <executions> Some stuff for the children </execution> </executions> </plugin> </plugins> </pluginManagement> </build> and I run mvn help:effective-pom on the parent project I get what I want, namely the plugins part directly under build (the one doing the work) remains empty. In effect what I want is for the pluginManagement to behave exactly as the documentation states, that is I want it to apply for children only but not for the project in which it is declared. As a corrolary, is there a way I can override the parts from the pluginManagement by declaring the plugin in the normal build section of a project ? whatever I try I get that the section is added to executions but I cannot override one that exists already. EDIT: I never did find an acceptable solution for this and as such the issue remains open. Closest solution was offered below and is currently the accepted solution for this question until something better comes up. Right now there are three ways to achieve the desired result (modulate plugin behaviour depending on where in the inheritance hierarchy the current POM is): 1 - using profiles, it will work but you must beware that profiles are not inherited, which is somewhat counter intuitive. They are (if activated) applied to the POM where declared and then this generated POM is propagated down. As such the only way to activate the profile for child POM is specifically on the command line (least I did not find another way). Property, file and other means of activation fail to activate the POM because the trigger is not in the POM where the profile is declared. 2 - (this is what I ended up doing) Declare the plugin as not inherited in the parent and re-declare (copy-paste) the tidbit in every child where it is wanted. Not ideal but it is simple and it works. 3 - Split the aggregation nature and parent nature of the parent POM. Then since the part that only applies to the parent is in a different project it is now possible to use pluginManagement as firstly intended. However this means that a new artificial project must be created that does not contribute to the end product but only serves the could system. This is clear case of conceptual bleed. Also this only applies to my specific and is hard to generalize, so I abandoned efforts to try and make this work in favor of the not-pretty but more contained cut and paste patch described in 2. If anyone coming across this question has a better solution either because of my lack of knowledge of Maven or because the tool evolved to allow this please post the solution here for future reference. • Safari/Chrome problem with ajaxsubmit?

  Hi I'm currently having some weird issues with ajaxsubmit (http://jquery.malsup.com/form/#ajaxSubmit), which I'm currently using in a project. I have a flow where I need to open a form into a modal window. I'm using fancybox for that and it works like a charm. When the form has been forced to open in the fancybox window there can happen two things. 1) If the user who is about to submit the form is logged in she should see a confirmation in the modal box, that her input was succesfully submitted 2)If the user is not logged in there should be loaded a login form once she hits the submit button 2.1) When the user has logged in she should receive a confirmation in the modal box. This is also working like a charm in Firefox, IE8 and IE7 but not in Safari or Chrome. The weird part is that it seems like safari and chrome are completely ignoring my ajaxsubmit form. • Problem with JS Selectbox Function

  I have a selectbox with three options. When a user selects one of the three options, I want a specific div to appear below it. I am trying to write the code that dictates which specific box is to appear when each of the three options is selected. So far, I have only worked on the code that pertains to the first option. However, whenever the user selects any of the three options from the selectbox, the function for the first option is triggered and the div is displayed. My question is two part: 1) How do I write a conditional function that specifically targets the selected option 2) What is the best way to accomplish what I have described above; How do I efficiently go about defining three different functions for three different options in a select box? • Windows 7 64 Bit - ODBC32 - Legacy App Problem

  Good day StackOverFlowlers, I´m a little stuck (really stuck) with an issue with a legacy application on my organization. I have a Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit machine, Access 2000 Installed and the Legacy App (Is built with something like VB but older) The App uses System ODBC in order to connect to a SQL 2000 DataBase on a Remote Server. I created the ODCB using C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe app in order to create a System DSN. I did not use the Windows 7 because it is not visible to the Legacy App. I tested the ODBC connection with Access and worked ok, I can access the remote database. Then I run the legacy App as Administrator and the App can see the ODBC, but I´m getting errors on credential validation and I´m getting this error: DIAG [08001] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Multi-Protocol]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. (17) DIAG [01000] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Multi-Protocol]ConnectionOpen (Connect()). (53) DIAG [IM006] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed (0) I use Trusted Connection on the ODBC in order to validate the user by Domain Controller. I think that the credentials are not being sent by the Legacy App to the ODBC, or something like that. I don´t have the source code of the Legacy App in order to debug the connection. Also, I turned off the Firewall. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!

I can easily parse a list that contains only one node type (eg. just apples, not oranges) @ElementList(name = "fruitlist") private List<Apple> exercises; with more than one node type it also wants so parse non Apple nodes which doesn't work. I also tried to make another list for oranges, but it doen't work, I can't use fruitlist name more than once. @ElementList(name = "fruitlist", entry = "orange") private List<Orange> exercises; The ideal would be two seperate list for both node types.   Hi! I'm running a few Team Fortress 2 servers and I want to write a little management script. Basically the TF2 servers are a fg process which provides a server console, so I can start the server, type status and get an answer from it: ***@purple:~/tf2$ ./start_server_testing Auto detecting CPU Using AMD Optimised binary. The best way I found to do this is using a fifo named pipe. Now what I want to do is having this pipe readonly and non blocking to the server process, so I can write into the pipe and the server executes it, but still I want to write via console one the server, so if I switch back to the fg process of the server and I type status I want an answer printed. I tried this (assuming serverfifo is mkfifo serverfifo): ./start_server_testing < serverfifo Not working, the server won't start until something is written to the pipe. ./start_server_testing <> serverfifo Thats actually working pretty good, I can see the console output of the server and I can write to the fifo and the server executes the commands, but I can't write via console to the server anymore. Also, if I write 'exit' to the pipe (which should end the server) and I'm running it in a screen the screen window is getting killed for some reason (wtf why?). I only need the server to read the fifo without blocking AND all my keyboard input on the server itself should be send to the server AND all server ouput should be written to the console. Is that possible? If yes, how?

  I am trying to get my jQuery functions to work on IE8. I am loading the library from google's servers (http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js). The $(function(){}) is never called. Instead, I get an error "Object expected". I opened the developer and ran "typeof $" in the console, and it came up as "undefined". I have tried going to other sites that I know use jQuery (jquery.com), and those all work, is there something I might be missing here?

MRC file format stores volumetric pixel data (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voxel) and we simply use 3D char array(char***) to load and store data (gray scale values) from a MRC file. As shown in the image,there are 3 viewers to display XY,YZ and ZX planes respectively. Scrollbars on the top of the viewers use to change the image slice along an axis. Here is the steps we do when user changes the scrollbar position. 1) get the new scrollbar value.(this is the selected slice) 2) for the relavant plane (YZ,XY or ZX), generate (char* slice;) array for the selected slice by reading 3D char array (char***) 3) Create a new QImage* (Format_RGB888) and set pixel values by reading 'slice' (using img-setPixel(x,y,c);) 4) This new QImage* is painted in the paintEvent() method. We are going to execute "edge-detection" process in a seperate thread since it is an intensive process.During this process we need to draw detected curve (set of pixels) on top of above QImage*.(as a layer).This means we need to call drawPoint() methods outside the QT thread. Is it the best wayto use QImage for this case? What is the best way to execute QT drawing methods from another thread? thanks in advance,

• Problem with testing In App with sandbox test account

  Hi, I created a test user account through the Manage User Accounts in iTunes Connect. When you create such an account you have to select a valid storefront for your account. I chose US Store. Now I signed out from the store in App Store settings on my device. Ran the application and tried to perform a purchase. I successfully login with my test account. After I press Confirm when entering my credentials I get an alert, that comes from SKPaymentTransactionStateFailed from the observer. It says "Your account is only valid for purchases in the US iTunes Store". The error state = 0 unknown. Second time when i try to perform the purchase, StoreKit only asks me for a password like the previous login was successful. After entering a password I can perform a purchase. My question is whether it's only because it's a testing account and the application is not actually on AppStore? What should I do to avoid this message or at least to continue the purchasing process?
