    In evaluating a rewrite rule that redirects to a specific URL and say the rewrite condition is met, would it be possible to use HTTP_HOST as part of the URL to be redirected to? Example in question: RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpe?g|gif|png|bmp)$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/no-leech.jpg [R,NC] The motive behind this question is a desire to create a single htaccess file that would match against an addon domain (on a shared hosting account) and an infinite amount of subdomains below it to prevent hotlinking of images.

  • Apache ignore my .htaccess 'dontlog' option

    I wrote .htaccess in file dir/subdir to don't log URI requests in this particular directory. The .htaccess is actually executed by apache (if i write deny from , it works), but if the file contains only this rule: SetEnvIf Request_URI "^dir/subdir" dontlog Don't work. AllowOverride All and mod_rewrite are enabled. What can be the problem? Sorry for my bad english.

    When I have to choose my DNS I think that I should consider: Speed Reliability Privacy Control (reports and stats) The main options that come to my mind, and how I weigh them according to the above factors, are: My ISP = faster (closer to me) but less privacy (they can associate my DNS requests to myself) OpenDNS and such = more control and more privacy (all they have is one of my e-mail addresses) Google = less privacy (they can associate my DNS requests to my Google Account and my searches) What weighting factors, or other options, have I missed?

    Hi there, I am using outlook 2007, and I have configured the bugger to retrieve emails from a 1&1 web mail address. It gets all emails from the remote in-box folder but, if one happen to have fallen into the remote spam folder, I never receive it, in outlook! Is there an easy way out for this one ? Thanks!

    the built in command line ftp client in server 2008 does not support passive mode so I've used these commands to allow outbound ftp (it stalls without this) 1) Open port 21 on the firewall netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="FTP (no SSL)" action=allow protocol=TCP dir=in localport=21 2) Activate firewall application filter for FTP (aka Stateful FTP) that will dynamically open ports for data connections netsh advfirewall set global StatefulFtp enable however in server 2008 r2, these commands seem to work, but it does not affect the outbound ftp, it stalls I do not want to use an alt client

Now, after our move to a new Exchange server, I now have a "Junk Email" folder and the existing "Junk Email1" folder. Is there a way to change the default Outlook Junk Email folder back to "Junk Email"?

  • vmware problems - networking - no packet response

    XP is my host. Ubuntu is my Guest in VMware. When I do the following commands, I should get SMTP respones but now get no response. I use wireshark to analayze it.   • Some domain names not resolving on local network

    I am not really sure where to start with this one... I have a small network setup with some linux servers (Ubuntu 11.04 Server). 2 servers are running BIND 9 (NS01, NS02), they are configured as master and slave respectively. 1 server is running Zimbra ZCS 7.1.1 (MX01), it has a private BIND 9 server running to achieve a split DNS configuration. This DNS server does not interact with the other two, it forwards queries it can resolve to the other 2 that is it. No zone transfers. Zimbra is hosting 3 domains at the moment, solignis.local, solignis.com, campbellsurvey.net. The problem From with in my network I cannot connect to mail.campbellsurvey.net. When I mean I cannot connect, I mean if I open firefox and type https://mail.campbellsurvey.net I go nowhere, the address is supposed to connect to my Zimbra webmail. But it goes nowhere, the odd thing is if I try the same task from outside of the network it brings the website up like normal. If I try to create an account in thunderbird to connect to the same server using IMAP4 or POP3 I get an error saying that thunderbird cannot find the domain name. Even the zimbra client fails too. It is like from with in my own walls that campbellsurvey.net does not exist. But if step outside I can get it work with no problem at all. I had thought maybe the problem was with the DNS server (BIND 9), so just to eliminate it as a possibility I configured a windows server I use for VMware VCenter as a DNS server to see what would happen. The result was the same, its like something is preventing connections to those domains, but I have checked various firewalls and such. I checked port forwards, etc. So I am running out of ideas I know this is not a lot of information to work from and I can give more details about certain things as needed. I am just trying to figure out what could be going wrong. Any help you could offer would be much appreciated.

This is the exact error I get Sender address rejected: Domain not found (in reply to RCPT TO command)) Any suggestions on how I can rectify this?

    I have been looking in using OTRS - ITSM to manage all of our services but wanted to know if any software existed that is not built into a ticket system? Pretty much want to add all services and tie them to an SLA. Once that is done, we would manually declare incidents and the system would automatically send our notificaton to the proper e-mail lists for downtime/planned maintenance. Would be nice if it calculates reports for SLAs etc. thanks

I read a lot about OpenS/WAN+L2PT and OpenVPN but I am still confused how I should configure it. I would prefer IPSec+PPTP/L2PT since the road warrior doesn't have to install any extra software on iPhone/Windows7. Is there a good how-to for IPSec or what would you suggest?

Is it possible to isolate a mailserver (for example HMailServer) by using VMware Server on Windows 2003 in order to avoid potential viruses moving from the guest into the host system?     I did a great deal of reading here before posting this because I didn't want to post a duplicate - but I'm on a bit of a deadline and getting frustrated, so here goes... I very, very, very sincerely apologize if this is long winded or hard to read. Please - please just ask for any information or clarification and I will give it as quickly as I possibly can. This has become very frustrating to me and this is the last place I know to turn. I have no experience with setting up DNS, no experience with nameservers, and no peers to go to for help. So this is kind of my last ditch effort. The task of setting up a private server has, through circumstances beyond my control, fallen into my lap. I own a domain (hereafter referred to as yyy.com) and have always used shared hosting - I buy a package and just point it to the domain nameservers they give me. It's always been simple. yyy.com is registered with network solutions Now I have purchased a Virtual Private Hosting package from GoDaddy.com - and it comes with Plesk 11. I have no earthly idea how to begin to get the right nameserver for yyy.com. I have gone through the instructions and have wound up exceedingly frustrated. I have 2 IP addresses from GoDaddy for the server. This is what I have so far, and I cannot tell if it is working (Since propogation takes so long, it is extremely hard to test for me) IP 1 : XX.XX.XX.XX IP 2 : YY.YY.YY.YY (obviously hidden for privacy) Now after going through the documentation setup and waiting a few days, this is the setup I have - and so far it does not appear to be working. Hi can do a rewrite rule like this: RewriteRule ^/myapp(.*) http://xxx:8080/myapp$1 [P,L] This way, if a user goes to the URL http://xxx/myapp he can enter the app fine, but the port will still show up on the browser. I want the URL that the user sees to be always http://xxx/myapp How can I do this using mod_rewrite?
