  • What library should I use for 2D Geometry? [closed]

    I've been working on a 2D game in java, but found that java just didn't cut it for me and had forced me to a lot of bad design choices, so I've decided to port all my work to c++. The main reason I've decided change to c++ is that i had reached a point where i had 3 geometry libraries (the native, one from the game engine and one to handle "complex" polygons), none of witch worked very well together and i couldn't keep track of them. I'm new to c++, but i know all the basics. My question is, what would be a good geometry library to use, ideally it should be able to handle integer and decimal data types, have point, line, and polygon classes witch are able to check for intersection and contains.   • Press alt + arrow to skip full line? (Or is there an existing shortcut already..? )

    I am still a fresh Ubuntu user, and I switched from a Mac. What I can do on Mac, is I can press alt + arrow to jump one word forward or backward, or if I press cmd + arrow, I am able to jump to the start or end of the line. And that's what I would like to do in Ubuntu. I would assign it to the alt key, as ctrl is already used to skip words. I use that function a lot when coding, I like to keep my hands on the keyboard and just not touch the mouse at all, and it just saves me time for not having to hold the arrow key until I get to the end of the line (or the skip-a-word combo for that matter), or grabbing the mouse to click at the end, just to add a semicolon or something like that. It's not a huge deal, but that's just what I'm used to. I still keep my Mac partition for incompatibility issues, but I prefer Ubuntu over Mac. If there is already a shortcut to do that, I'd gladly go ahead and try getting comfortable using it, but if it is not, how could I achieve what I described above, if of course it is even possible?     GNU Screen (screen) behaves differently on OS X 10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard) compared to Linux (at least Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Gentoo) and OS X 10.4 (Tiger). In 10.5 and 10.6, new screens (made with screen or ^A c) always places me in my home directory ~. In Linux and OS X Tiger, new screens have a pwd of wherever the screen was created originally.     I'm after a regex that puts spaces around each "-" in a string, eg. 02 jaguar-leopard, tiger-panther 08 would become 02 jaguar - leopard, tiger - panther 08 Note that if the "-" already has spaces around it, no changes are to be made, eg. 02 jaguar - leopard, tiger - panther 08 should not become 02 jaguar - leopard, tiger - panther 08 The number of hyphens are unknown in advance. My question are: Instead of having many CASES is it possible to create dynamic vb code that parses the ajax request and creates dynamically the call to the desired SP (also implementing the parameters passed by JS)? What is the best approach to handle situations like this, by using the advantages of .Net + protoype or jQuery? How the big sites handle situation like this?     I am making a Java game and I want my game to run the same on any FPS so I'm using time delta between each update. It jumps even higher when the FPS is increasing. If I limit FPS it is jumping 4 blocks. (BLOCK: 32x32) I have just realized that the problem is this: if(Input.keyPressed(38)) { this.velocityY -= 6; } I add -6 to velocityY which increases player's Y proportionally to the update number and not to the time. But I don't know how to fix this.

    Note: this question is distinct from "How to disable automatically connecting to WiFi?", as I do not wish to disable automatic WiFi connection in general. Problem: The Ubuntu WiFi module connects automatically in priority with WiFi networks without a password, even if there is a already known password-protected WiFi network nearby. Worse, most of the times these "unprotected" networks are in fact hotspots that require authentification from the browser. Example: I am at home, and most of the times my Ubuntu laptop will connect by itself to a nearby hotspot instead of choosing my local ADSL box (password-protected, with a password that is already known by the computer). I then have to select my own WiFi network manually. Is there a way to disable automatic connection to /all/ hotspots ?

  • Mono fast cgi not working on nginx

    I installed mono fast cgi for nginx following instructions on: http://www.mono-project.com/FastCGI_Nginx but when i try to load test aspx file i getting 502 error gateway,and following error in error log: 2011/11/28 18:49:51 [error] 5376#0: *6 upstream sent unexpected FastCGI record: 3 while reading response header from upstream, client: ipadress, server: ipadress, request: "GET /default.aspx HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://127.0.0.1:9999", host: "ipadress" I tried different things to change but always same result,except maybe sometime in error log is number 1 or 3 instead 6.Nginx ver is 1.03 64 bit,mono and xsp latest versions. Any idea what could be wrong?

    I cleaned out some logs from my cPanel dedicated server From here http://linuxhostingsupport.net/blog/log-files-on-a-cpanel-server i deleted all log listed at that link. Problem is with EXIM process it can not shut down, but it can run. When I try to send Email from roundcube, horde or via smtp it is down. 25 port is down, I can not receive, or send mails. But 1 minute before cleaning logs I received mails and I could send mails. what is problem, I just deleted logs... When I try service exim restart. CSF is protecting me from every perl script which can make damage. But not from this one here: http://pastebin.com/CfRiSVkQ It's Syn Flood script, when I attack my dedicated server from another dedicated with 100MBPS link csf is detecting the attack and he always block attackers address but I am flooded and sites are down, I get email from csf, but attack is still damaging sites! Then I need to restart httpd, csf and sites are online again...

    I have two ip addresses on my server, First IP is assigned to my clients, second is assigned to me. Issue started today. My clients can not send mail via php from their ip address (shared ip address which are all of them using). Server is refusing it with error ERROR: Password not accepted from server: 535 Incorrect authentication data But via their desktop mail clients it can send mail, when they use my ip address for hostname (second ip of server assigned to me) they can send mail. help.

    Today I've tried C compiler (Clang) for C code I use in my haskell library and found that I can gain speed increase in comparsing with my system compiler (GCC 4.4.3) from 426.404 Gbit/s to 0.823 Tbit/s So I decided to add some flags to control the way that C source file is compiled (i.e. something like use-clang, use-intel etc.).   • Problems using PC as a media server with PS3

    I recently got a PS3 and decided to take advantage of the fact that it can be used to stream movies by making my PC a media server. I've done this in the past with the same router I have now before I sold my old PS3, but not on this PC. I've tried using both Tversity and PS3 Media server, but I don't think the problem lies within the configuration of either of those programs because I am unable to ping the PS3. This problem only occurs when I am using a wired connection on my pc, attempting to connect to a WLAN connection on the PS3. If I switch to WLAN on my PC I can successfully ping the PS3 and connect to the media server. Thanks

    hi my dear friends : i have a simple network between xp & 7 windowses with cross cable (2 pc home)... ===================================================================== the one with 7 is mother and have 2 lan device (onboard + pci) A. onboard is like this when u go to tcp/ip v4 properties:(4 adsl internet) obtain an ip... preferred dns server : 81.91.129.67 alternate dns server : 4.2.2.4 shared...no permission 4 change so every thing is ok for internet on windows 7. B. the other lan pci card that is connected to pc with xp is like this : 192.168.2.11 255.255.255.0 0.0.0.0 empty empry computer name : cougar workgroup : nethome homeNetwork is disabled (i think that is 4 2 pc's with 7 os not xp) every thing is off in network options except file & printer sharing in public area ===================================================================== pc with xp os is like this : 192.168.2.12 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.11 (mean gateway) 4.2.2.4 8.8.8.8 computer name : tiger workgroup : nethome ===================================================================== at last my little net is ok... mean both have internet , both can see each other by their ip (\\192.168.2.11 or \\192.168.2.12) my problem is when in pc with xp type \\cougar it shows an error about network path! but in pc with 7 \\tiger works perfec. what is the problem in system with xp ? in few days ago this network was ok (search by computer name) when both os were xp , so there is no problem with my cable or devices. another problem is i can not find tiger in my network list in 7 pc \ why? is something wrong with my network? thanks 4 future advance best regards

The number of Rows will be established durin runtime, what I do know though is that I want two columns... So I have a couple of questions regarding this : - is there a way to set the whole TableLayout to have 2 columns ? - is there a way programmatically to give an id to the (during runtime) created TableRows which will be placed within the TableLayout, so I can reference them later on from other parts of the software ?

  • does anyone find ipad simulator has bug in message forwarding?

I put a button in a view which is put in a view controller in a navigation controller stack. it is a little complex. but the problem is weird. when I click the top of the button, the action of the button can be triggered. but when I click the bottom, the action is not called at all. does anyone have the same problem here? it looks like a bug of ipad simulator. my application is an ipad app and now no device to test it.
