    Something handy I just ran across: There are lots of people here who blog about Solaris, either as their main topic, or as the occasional tangent. If the blogger has tagged their post appropriately, here's a quick way to find them: Articles tagged Solaris Articles tagged ZFS Articles tagged IPS Articles tagged DTrace Articles tagged Zones Articles tagged Studio Articles tagged Cluster Note that this is a little different from using the "word cloud" you can find in the right-hand column on this page, since that only finds articles tagged in this blog.     Hi, I'm interested in booting-off-flash (i.e. like livecd) for more secure online banking at home. -I like system rescue CD, but AFAIK it doesn't have the wifi drivers. (These are convenient) -ubuntu live cd has the wi-fi drivers, but also has a lot of stuff I don't need -I'd like a way to save some basic config settings (e.g. wifi SSID and passphrase), so that wifi works upon startup, i.e. without having to re-enter the settings. What's the best way to 'roll my own slightly-customized boot-from-flash live cd? thanks, bill

    Hi, I have a DataGridView that is bound to a list of object. It has some columns that the user can edit. There are certain inputs that are not allowed for a row as a whole. How can I roll back if the user enters invalid inputs in some cell. I tried using the RowValidating event handler but it was not called after cell value has been changed. Even when I implemet CellValueChanged, I still cannot roll back the changes. Any idea how to accomplish this

  • Roll standalone JBoss app under Tomcat

    I've got a Linux box where there’s Tomcat running, with some JSP applications in it. Now, I’ve received a third party app from a developer shop to be eventually deployed. It came as an archive called "jboss7.tar" which, it seems, contained a whole standalone Web server. Once I’ve followed their instructions and run the designated shell script, it would start a server that would listen on port 8081, and app pages are being served up. Still, this strikes me as an inelegant setup. Why run two Web servers side by side, both of them Java-enabled? Also, the manual startup of the standalone app, I don't like that either. The real question is – can I take the user-provided portions from the said archive and somehow plug it under the existing Tomcat instance? It looks like the user code is packaged into files with .war extension, I can see them under /var/jboss7/standalone/deployments.

Our main server is located in a country in Europe and we will have many users downloading our client the first day from all over the world. Since the client application is quite big in MB our wan will be utilized a lot.     I am new to Xcode (using 4.3) and am not sure how to save an image to the device's camera roll. All that I have done so far is an IBAction for the button to save the image (the button resides in the top right of the navigation bar. This tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSdwjQUXA2Y) is EXACTLY what I would like to be able to do but the code is too blurry to read properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Roll up project-level tasks to the project collection portal in TFS2010

    I have a Project Collection setup in my TFS2010RC deployment. I have two Projects setup under this collection with their own task lists, which are populated with data. I fully expected the tasks from these individual projects to "roll up" and appear in the task list at the Project Collection level, but they do not. The Project Collection task list is empty. Basically, I'm looking to provide a view so a supervisor could see all tasks across projects quickly and easily. I'm sure I could write a reporting services report, but it seems like this is something so basic that it would have been included and it just need to be turned on or something. I'm sure I'm probably missing something really simple here. Thanks.

  • How to roll my own index in c#?

    I need a faster way to create an index file. The application generates pairs of items to be indexed. I currently add each pair as it is generated to a sorted dictionary and then write it out to a disk file. This works well until the number of items added exceeds one million, at which time it slows to the point that is unacceptable. There can be as many as three million data items to be indexed. I prefer to avoid a database because I do not want to significantly increase the size of the deployment package, which is now less than one-half of one megabyte. I tried Access but it is even slower than the sorted dictionary -if it had an efficient bulk load utility then that might work, but I do not find such a tool for Access. Is there a better way to roll my own index?

    We are using the core service in ASP.NET custom page in order to create pages and components and sevenral updates (checkout,save and chekin). we want those operations to work in transaction, we tried to implement it acording to some examples over the net. However we didn't succeded operating the rollback. It seems that the operation are immediately performed without waiting for the comit . The code we used for simple check out - roll back operation for example is TransactionOptions txOptions = new TransactionOptions { IsolationLevel = IsolationLevel.ReadCommitted }; using (TransactionScope scope = new TransactionScope( TransactionScopeOption.Required, txOptions)) { using (CoreService2010Client m_client = new CoreService2010Client()) { PageData pp = m_client.CheckOut("tcm:309-36311-64", false, new ReadOptions()) as PageData; } scope.Dispose(); } We also added this recomended configuration to the web config bindings section What are we missing ?

    How do i roll back changes to an attached object in nhibernate? We have a validation before update/save (example simplified).. var setting = Get("key") setting.Value = "helo" //for whatever reason, this particular //setting cannot have its value saved to the database ... Verify(setting); //throws base.Update(setting); but since the object is attached, any changes already happened in the session, even if the validation throws, and never reaches Update. What is the proper way to handle this?

  • Log4net RollingFileAppender doesn't roll over anymore after a couple of weeks

    Hello, I'm using log4net (v1.2.9.0) in a web project. Everything works like a charm, but after a couple of weeks the RollingFileAppender stops to roll over. Instead every log message is appended to the same file which therefore has a giant size by now.   • Make joomla blog link to inner pages(or blog roll post actual)

    So i was told to create a blog for client in Joomla and, i have minimal knowledge of Joomla inner workings. I made the blog as seen here http://www.assurancepower.com/about-us/blog.html But the problem is that, the headers/titles for each story in that blog roll cant be clicked. Im wondering is there a way i can make this happen? Essentially this page is a collection of the stories and i want to be able to click on a particular one (any of them) and be taken to its inner page/full version of the story. Not exactly sure what im supposed to do/search for. Im not sure if joomla has a wordpress like functions.php or for example, is there somewhere i can instert a....maybe something like how wordpress does it with permalinks like so: <?php permalink(); ?> //title link here to the actual story. or something like <?php bloginfo('url');?>// this relative link for WP. Etc, All i want is to be able to have these titles in this story be active links to their full counterpart. Not sure what to look for/how to go about fixing this. Thanks in advanced.

    I hope this is the proper location to ask this question which is the same as this one, but expressed as pure math instead of graphically (at least I hope I translated the problem to math correctly). Considering: two vectors that are orthogonal: Up (ux, uy, uz) and Look (lx, ly, lz) a plane P which is perpendicular to Look (hence including Up) Y1 which is the projection of Y (vertical axis) along Look onto P Question: what is the value of the angle between Y1 and Up? As mathematicians will agree, this is a very basic question, but I've been scratching my head for at least two weeks without being able to visualize how to project Y onto P... maybe now too old for finding solutions to school exercises. I'm looking for the trigonometric solution, not a solution using a matrix. Thanks.

    I am working on a web page that uses dojo and has a number (6 in my test case, but variable in general) of project widgets on it. I'm invoking dojo.addOnLoad(init), and in my init() function I have these lines: dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 0).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(0);}); dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 1).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(1);}); dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 2).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(2);}); dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 3).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(3);}); dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 4).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(4);}); dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 5).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(5);}); and change events for my project widgets properly invoke the makeMatch function. But if I replace them with a loop: for (var i = 0; i < 6; i++) dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + i).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(i);}); same makeMatch() function, same init() invocation, same everything else - just rolling my calls up into a loop - the makeMatch function is never called; the objects are not wired. What's going on, and how do I fix it? I've tried using dojo.query, but its behavior is the same as the for loop case.
