  • Problems and solution for Developing a connected web and desktop application?

    hi, I am trying to develop a web application(Using ASP.NET and c#) that uses a specific database hosted on web server. I will have another desktop application that will use a local database. Both databases have same structure and data at start up. Then databases will change when users add data to web application and an employee adds data to the desktop application. After a while I have to sync both databases. What will be best way to do this? Is there any opensource example/ starter kit to start with? Thanks.

  • FLOT: How to make different colored points in same data series, connected by a line?

    Hi all, I think I may have stumbled onto a limitation of Flot, but I'm not sure. I'm trying to represent a single data series over time. The items' "State" is represented on the Y-Axis (there are 5 of them), and time is on the X-Axis (items can change states over time). I want the graph to have points and lines connecting those points for each data series. In addition to tracking an item's State over time, I'd also like to represent it's "Status" at any of the particular points. This I would like to do by changing the color of the points. What this means is a single item may have different Statuses at different times, meaning for a single data series I need a line that connects different points (dots) of different colors. The only thing I've seen so far is the ability to specify the color for all points in a given dataseries. Does anyone know if there's a way to specify colors individually? Thanks.

MyClass[] arr1; 3. // filled the array with objects and did some work on it . 4. dgv_1.DataSource=origArr; 5. 6. // Here is the problem : 7. arr1=origArr; 8. // do some work on arr1 ... 9. dgv_2.DataSource=arr1; For some reason the data in 'origArr' changed when data in 'arr1' change ... I thought that maybe this happened because 'origArr' and 'arr1' are pointers referring to the same object so I changed line '7' to : 7. origArr.CopyTo(arr1,0); but it didn't work ... what can i do to make the pointers referring to different objects?

Now, we have a slave connection open at host device. At host device, I want to know the bluetooth address of remote device. By adding all kinds of Log.xx I found that the code after if(bindService(...)) actually goes BEFORE ServiceConnection.onServiceConnected is being called - that is, when downloader is still null - which gets me into trouble. All the samples in ApiDemos avoid this timing problem by only calling services when triggered by user actions. But what should I do to right use this service after bindService succeeds? How can I wait for ServiceConnection.onServiceConnected being called reliably?

    I want to fetch some information from my mysql database in a class, so I'm passing in the PDO object into a __construct function, and working from there. However, what's an elegant way of checking to see if the PDO object was correctly created, and that the connection is open when the Table class is instantiated? class Table{ public function __construct(PDO $db, $week){ try{ $query = $db -> query ("SELECT * FROM `table1` where `day` = 'monday'"); } catch(PDOExeption $e){ echo 'error: '. $e->getMessage(); //die(); } } } I don't think this code does what I want.

  • How to tell Windows 7 "sleep when laptop is closed, unless there's an external monitor connected; then use that"?

    Most of the time, I would like my Windows 7 laptop to sleep when I close it. But sometimes, I like to connect an external monitor over DVI. I would like my laptop to use the external monitor when I close the lid, but only when a monitor is connected to the DVI port. Otherwise, sleep when closed. Is there any way I can do that, without manually changing the power settings every time I decide to use the monitor?

  • PC won't boot with 4 prong CPU connector connected. Motherboard or CPU dead - which one? Both?

    In the middle of use, my computer shut down. I tried to turn it on but it maybe comes on for half a second, shuts down, then flickers again very quickly about 2 seconds later before giving up completely. So I took everything apart and nailed it down to the power supply, the mobo, or the CPU. I had an extra old power supply around, hooked that up and it had the same problems, so that can't be it. When the 4 prong CPU connector is not connected, the motherboard 'functions' in that it stays on and runs the heat sink etc. Throw in the 4 prong connector and that's when it doesn't stay on. So it must be the CPU, right? Motherboard: ASUS P6X58D CPU: Intel i7-920 Bot are under warranty (supposedly) - should I get both replaced or what?

  • When connected to VPN through Windows 7 running under OS X via VMWare Fusion, does traffic from the OS X side go through the VPN?

    I only have a rudimentary knowledge of VPNs. My understanding is that, in most network configurations, when a client is connected remotely to a VPN server, all network traffic passes through the VPN server before going to the client, and all data coming from the client passes through the VPN server before going out over the wider Internet. I run Windows 7 using VMWare Fusion under OS X Lion. If I access a web page in Safari, say, on the OS X side of things, does that traffic pass through the VPN server? Or does it bypass it because the two OS's are regarded as separate network devices by my LAN? I would appreciate any insight anyone can provide. Thanks.

So I ordered one, and have connected three monitors, but I can only enable two at a time. It can be both of the ones connected by DisplayPort, or one of the ones connected by DisplayPort and the one connected by VGA. Does anyone know whether it really is possible to enable all three at once, and if so, how?

    UPDATE: Router error logs show: LCP Time-out 0 I'm not sure how to correct this. The Lan-to-Lan profiles are set to -1 Idle Timeout (for the remote branch). I have a PPTP VPN running between two Draytek 2820 routers. They are setup that one dials out to the other one. Main Practice - 192.168.1.0/24 Branch - 192.168.3.0/24 I have then set (on the Branch) router the following route: 192.168.1.0/24 If I then request a server running on 192.168.1.1 from the Branch, it correctly routes through VPN tunnel. If I request the branch server at 192.168.3.1 it correctly routes to the local server without using the VPN tunnel. I have temporarily disabled the firewall on both routers, and made sure that QoS is disabled. The Main Practice internet connection is ~30mb down / ~10mb up, and the Branch connection is ~5mb down / ~2mb up. Anything over the VPN tunnel runs pretty slowly (VNC, Remote Desktop and Terminal Emulators). However, if I dial using the Windows VPN wizard, creating a connection from the laptop to the Main Practice - everything runs quickly. I'm looking for possible causes, and/or ways of further diagnosing the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated! UPDATE: In summary, when I connect within the Branch and try and access a host that's within the Main Practice it works, but slowly. If I then dial the VPN on my Windows 7 laptop whilst still connected to the Branch network, it's fast.   • MySQL does not work on localhost without Local Area Connection

    I use WampServer(Apache, PHP, MySQL) and have no problems when some kind of network adapter(wireless or lan) is connected(i-e Local Area Connection has status connected) 'even if i am not connected to the internet'(for example when i am connected to the router but that is not connected to the internet). When there is no network connection, i get a php error like MySQL could not connect to 127.0.0.1 on port 3306. Interestingly, 'telnet 127.0.0.1 3306' says that it could not connect to the port, even when the server and MySQL are running fine(i-e when some kind of local area connection is connected). So i turned off all kinds of firewall(antivirus and windows) but still no difference in anything. And that is why this issue is quite puzzling. Things i have already tried(will update this list along the way):- -The skip-networking directive in my.ini.

    Hello, This is my situation: Router A: IP 192.168.1.1 Mask 192.168.1.0/24 - Connected to the internet. Server: - Interface eth0: inet addr:10.1.1.125 Mask:255.255.255.0 (connected to router B) - Interface ra0: inet addr:192.168.1.125 Mask:255.255.255.0 (connected to router A) Router B: IP 10.1.1.254 Mask 10.1.1.0/24 - Connected to Server's eth0 Computer: connected to Router B via WiFi connection. I configured a static route on Router B that use as default gateway 192.168.1.125 and i can ping that ip from computer. The problem is: how i can connect to the internet ? In other words, traffic coming from Server eth0 should use ra0 as gateway. Any suggestion ? Thank you

  • DVI-D connection does not display properly at higher resolutions (2560 x 1440)

    I have two computers connected to a Dell U2711 monitor. A PC which is connected using DisplayPort and a Mac connected using DVI-D. The PC displays 2560 x 1440 resolutions perfectly but when I try and set that resolution on the Mac it displays in an extremely fuzzy manner. So fuzzy in fact that I can hardly read the text on the screen. I've tried the Mac out connected via DisplayPort (unfortunately the monitor only has one DisplayPort connection) and it worked perfectly. I also had it connected via DVI-D in the past and it worked then. For some reason it just does not work anymore. I was wondering if this problem might be caused by a dodgy cable or perhaps not having the correct one. Can anyone think of what the issue might be? I've checked out the DVI-D spec and it should be able to display resolutions of 2560 x 1440 correctly.
