  • Including an embedded framework using a cross-project-reference: Header no such file or directory

    - by d11wtq
I'm trying to create a Cocoa framework by using a cross-project reference in Xcode. I have 2 projects: one for the framework; one for the application that will use the framework. This framework is not intended to be stored within the system; it is an embedded framework that lives within the application bundle. I have successfully made the cross-project reference, marked the framework as being a dependency of my target, added a Copy Files build phase that puts the framework in Contents/Frameworks/ and added the framework to the linker phase (I checked the little "Target" checkbox; I've also done it manually by dragging the framework into the linker phase). My framework's install directory is correctly set to @executable_path/../Frameworks. However, when I try to build my app it: a) Correctly builds the framework first b) Correctly copies the framework c) Errors because it cannot find the master header file in my framework I have verified that the header is there. I can see it in the app product that is partially built. ls build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h I have been able to successfully build the app by copying my framework into /Library/Frameworks (I can then delete it again after the successful build), but this is a workaround, I'm looking to find it out why Xcode doesn't find the framework's master header file without it being copied to a system directory. Is copying it to the app bundle during the build not sufficient? Here's the full build transcript if it's any help (it's just a Hello World app right now, so not much going on here): Build Cioccolata of project Cioccolata with configuration Debug SymLink • Exporting makefile from Eclipse CDT

    - by Alex Farber
I have C++ project in the Ubuntu OS, Eclipse CDT. My final goal is to build the project binaries for FreeBSD OS. The first test. I create simple C++ CDT project with main.cpp file: cout << "OK" << endl; and build it. Then I open Terminal window in Release directory: alex@alex-linux:~/workspace/HelloWorld/Release$ ls HelloWorld main.d main.o makefile objects.mk sources.mk subdir.mk alex@alex-linux:~/workspace/HelloWorld/Release$ rm HelloWorld main.d main.o alex@alex-linux:~/workspace/HelloWorld/Release$ ls makefile objects.mk sources.mk subdir.mk alex@alex-linux:~/workspace/HelloWorld/Release$ make Building file: ../main.cpp Invoking: GCC C++ Compiler g++ -O3 -Wall -c -fmessage-length=0 -MMD -MP -MF"main.d" -MT"main.d" -o"main.o" "../main.cpp" Finished building: ../main.cpp Building target: HelloWorld Invoking: GCC C++ Linker g++ -o"HelloWorld" ./main.o Finished building target: HelloWorld alex@alex-linux:~/workspace/HelloWorld/Release$ ./HelloWorld OK alex@alex-linux:~/workspace/HelloWorld/Release$ So far, so good. Now I copy the whole project tree to FreeBSD and trying to build it: $ cd /home/alex/project $ ls main.cpp release $ cd release $ ls makefile objects.mk sources.mk subdir.mk $ make "makefile", line 5: Need an operator "makefile", line 10: Need an operator "makefile", line 11: Need an operator "makefile", line 12: Need an operator CDT-generated makefile doesn't work. This is makefile beginning: $ Automatically-generated file. Do not edit! -include ../makefile.init RM := rm -rf $ All of the sources participating in the build are defined here -include sources.mk -include subdir.mk -include objects.mk ... Line 5 is -include ../makefile.init. Really, there is no such file. But it works by some way on Ubuntu computer. What is the trick, how can I build this? BTW, manually written makefile works: all: g++ -O0 -g3 -Wall -c -fmessage-length=0 -MMD -MP -MF"main.d" -MT"main.d" -o"main.o" "../main.cpp" g++ -o"HelloWorld" ./main.o Note: $ in makefile is actually #, I replaced it because # creates formatting problems inside of stackoverflow pre block.

  • fmod VS2008 unresolved externals in dependant project

    - by Tom J Nowell
Im currently trying to use the latest stable fmod ex in my project. I have a main executable in a project called engine4, and a project named DX9Platform in the solution as well which ti depends on. All the fmod code is in this DX9Platform project, which generates a lib file. DX9Platform includes fmodex_vc.lib and builds fine. However buildign Engien4 results in unresolved external symbol messages referencing files that use fmod in the DX9Platform project I have tried adding fmodex_vc.lib to the Engine4 project, with no success, how do I fix this? • Cross-compiling with OpenSSL for Windows

    - by singpolyma
I'm trying to compile the oauth-utils http://mir.dnsalias.com/oss/oauth/start for Windows from Ubuntu. I have compiled it on Windows before (a few months back), but wanted to try cross-compiling. I got openssl build using mingw32 ok, and put libssl.a and libcrypto.a in the right place. The linker is now finding the libraries (yay!) but I get the following error: /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xaac): undefined reference to `_CreateDCA@16' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xab9): undefined reference to `_CreateCompatibleDC@4' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xacc): undefined reference to `_GetDeviceCaps@8' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xadc): undefined reference to `_GetDeviceCaps@8' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xaf4): undefined reference to `_CreateCompatibleBitmap@12' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xb04): undefined reference to `_SelectObject@8' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xb18): undefined reference to `_GetObjectA@12' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xb81): undefined reference to `_BitBlt@36' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xb8c): undefined reference to `_GetBitmapBits@12' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xbe5): undefined reference to `_SelectObject@8' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xbec): undefined reference to `_DeleteObject@4' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xbf6): undefined reference to `_DeleteDC@4' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xc00): undefined reference to `_DeleteDC@4' Any ideas what could be causing this? • error C2504: 'BASECLASS' : base class undefined

    - by numerical25
I checked out a post similar to this but the linkage was different the issue was never resolved. The problem with mine is that for some reason the linker is expecting there to be a definition for the base class, but the base class is just a interface. Below is the error in it's entirety c:\users\numerical25\desktop\intro todirectx\godfiles\gxrendermanager\gxrendermanager\gxrendermanager\gxdx.h(2) : error C2504: 'GXRenderer' : base class undefined Below is the code that shows how the headers link with one another GXRenderManager.h #ifndef GXRM #define GXRM #include <windows.h> #include "GXRenderer.h" #include "GXDX.h" #include "GXGL.h" enum GXDEVICE { DIRECTX, OPENGL }; class GXRenderManager { public: static int Ignite(GXDEVICE); private: static GXRenderer *renderDevice; }; #endif at the top of GxRenderManager, there is GXRenderer , windows, GXDX, GXGL headers. I am assuming by including them all in this document. they all link to one another as if they were all in the same document. correct me if I am wrong cause that's how a view headers. Moving on... GXRenderer.h class GXRenderer { public: virtual void Render() = 0; virtual void StartUp() = 0; }; GXGL.h class GXGL: public GXRenderer { public: void Render(); void StartUp(); }; GXDX.h class GXDX: public GXRenderer { public: void Render(); void StartUp(); }; GXGL.cpp and GXDX.cpp respectively #include "GXGL.h" void GXGL::Render() { } void GXGL::StartUp() { } //...Next document #include "GXDX.h" void GXDX::Render() { } void GXDX::StartUp() { } Not sure whats going on. I think its how I am linking the documents, I am not sure.

  • gcc: Do I need -D_REENTRANT with pthreads?

    - by stefanB
On Linux (kernel 2.6.5) our build system calls gcc with -D_REENTRANT. Is this still required when using pthreads? How is it related to gcc -pthread option? I understand that I should use -pthread with pthreads, do I still need -D_REENTRANT? On a side note, is there any difference that you know off between the usage of REENTRANT between gcc 3.3.3 and gcc 4.x.x ? When I use -pthread gcc option I can see that _REENTRANT gets defined. Will omitting -D_REENTRANT from command line make any difference, for example could some objects be compiled without multithreaded support and then linked into binary that uses pthreads and will cause problems? I assume it should be ok just to use: g++ -pthread > echo | g++ -E -dM -c - > singlethreaded > echo | g++ -pthread -E -dM -c - > multithreaded > diff singlethreaded multithreaded 39a40 > #define _REENTRANT 1 We're compiling multiple static libraries and applications that link with the static libraries, both libraries and application use pthreads. I believe it was required at some stage in the past but want to know if it is still required. Googling hasn't returned any recent information mentioning -D_REENTRANT with pthreads. Could you point me to links or references discussing the use in recent version of kernel/gcc/pthread? Clarification: At the moment we're using -D_REENTRANT and -lpthread, I assume I can replace them with just g++ -pthread, looking at man gcc it sets the flags for both preprocessor and linker. Any thoughts?

  • What AOP tools exist for doing aspect-oriented programming at the assembly language level against x8

    - by JohnnySoftware
Looking for a tool I can use to do aspect-oriented programming at the assembly language level. For experimentation purposes, I would like the code weaver to operate native application level executable and dynamic link libraries. I have already done object-oriented AOP. I know assembly language for x86 and so forth. I would like to be able to do logging and other sorts of things using the familiar before/after/around constructs. I would like to be able to specify certain instructions or sequences/patterns of consecutive instructions as what to do a pointcut on since assembly/machine language is not exactly the most semantically rich computer language on the planet. If debugger and linker symbols are available, naturally, I would like to be able to use them to identify subroutines' entry points , branch/call/jump target addresses, symbolic data addresses, etc. I would like the ability to send notifications out to other diagnostic tools. Thus, support for sending data through connection-oriented sockets and datagrams is highly desirable. So is normal logging to files, UI, etc. This can be done using the action part of an aspect to make a function call, but then there are portability issues so the tool needs to support a flexible, well-abstracted logging/notifying mechanism with a clean, simple yet flexible. The goal is rapid-QA. The idea is to be able to share aspect source code braodly within communties as well as publicly. So, there needs to be a declarative security policy file that users can share. This insures that nothing untoward that is hidden directly or indirectly in an aspect source file slips by the execution manager. The policy file format needs to be simple to read, write, modify, understand, type-in, edit, and generate. Sort of like Java .policy files. Think the exact opposite of anything resembling XML Schema files and you get the idea. Is there such a tool in existence already?

  • How do I build BugTrap?

    - by magnifico
I am trying to build the Itellesoft BugTrap source using Visual Studio 2008. I have downloaded and unziped the BugTrap source and the zlib source. I navigated down to ./BugTrap/Win32/BugTrap and opened BugTrap.sln (suggest by the author here). I used Build-Build Solution and the build failed with a compiler error: fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'zip.h': No such file or directory I opened the project properties and added the path to the zlib-vc/zlib/include folder to the list of "Additional Include Directories" and tried to build again. The second build attempt failed with a linker error: fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'zlibSD.lib' I opened the zlib project and built the source. The zlib build succeeded. However, the bin directory does not contain a zlibSD.lib. The closest file in name is zlibMSD.lib. This poster on CodeProject seemed to have the same problem I did. But there is no resolution posted. Hopefully someone out there has experience building this project and can point me in the right direction, I've played with the binary distribution and it seems really slick.

  • Why does the MSCVRT library generate conflicts at link time?

    - by neuviemeporte
I am building a project in Visual C++ 2008, which is an example MFC-based app for a static C++ class library I will be using in my own project soon. While building the Debug configuration, I get the following: warning LNK4098: defaultlib 'MSVCRT' conflicts with use of other libs; use /NODEFAULTLIB:library After using the recommended option (by adding "msvcrt" to the "Ignore specific library" field in the project linker settings for the Debug configuration), the program links and runs fine. However, I'd like to find out why this conflict occured, why do I have to ignore a critical library, and if I'm to expect problems later I if add the ignore, or what happens if I don't (because the program builds anyway). At the same time, the Release configuration warns: warning LNK4075: ignoring '/EDITANDCONTINUE' due to '/OPT:ICF' specification warning LNK4098: defaultlib 'MSVCRTD' conflicts with use of other libs; use /NODEFAULTLIB:library I'm guessing that the "D" suffix means this is the debug version of the vc++ runtime, no idea why this gets used this time. Anyway, adding "msvcrtd" to the ignore field causes lots of link errors of the form: error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol imp_CrtDbgReportW Any insight greatly appreciated.

  • No test coverage files generated for Unit Test bundle in Xcode

    - by John Gallagher
The Problem I've got a Cocoa project on the desktop and I'm using Xcode 3.2.1 on Snow Leopard 10.6.2. I want to generate code coverage files for my Unit Test Target in Xcode. What I've Tried As articles like this one suggest, I've adjusted the build settings to: “Generate Test Coverage Files” checked “Instrument Program Flow” checked “-lgcov” added to “Other Linker Flags” I've also set the Run Script section of the test target to have the following: # Run the unit tests in this test bundle. "${SYSTEM_DEVELOPER_DIR}/Tools/RunUnitTests" # Run gcov on the framework getting tested if [ "${CONFIGURATION}" = 'Coverage' ]; then FRAMEWORK_NAME=LapsusInterpretationEngine FRAMEWORK_OBJ_DIR=${OBJROOT}/${FRAMEWORK_NAME}.build/${CONFIGURATION}/EngineTests.build/Objects-normal/${NATIVE_ARCH} mkdir -p coverage pushd coverage find ${OBJROOT} -name *.gcda -exec gcov -o ${FRAMEWORK_OBJ_DIR} {} \; popd fi Since my Framework name is LapsusInterpretationEngine but my target is named EngineTests, I put this directly into the FRAMEWORK_OBJ_DIR but this didn't seem to help. I've tried cleaning before building. I've made sure all the above build settings apply to both the Unit Test Target and the Application Target. What I Get No .gcda or .gcno files anywhere in the build directory I'm using. I point CoverStory to the Objects-normal directory in my builds folder and it complains that there's nothing there for it to read. I must be doing something really obvious wrong. Anyone any ideas? I have tried the "EngineTests.build" directory being ${FRAMEWORK_NAME} and this gives the same results.

  • Building a python module and linking it against a MacOSX framework

    - by madflo
I'm trying to build a Python extension on MacOSX 10.6 and to link it against several frameworks (i386 only). I made a setup.py file, using distutils and the Extension object. I order to link against my frameworks, my LDFLAGS env var should look like : LDFLAGS = -lc -arch i386 -framework fwk1 -framework fwk2 As I did not find any 'framework' keyword in the Extension module documentation, I used the extra_link_args keyword instead. Extension('test', define_macros = [('MAJOR_VERSION', '1'), ,('MINOR_VERSION', '0')], include_dirs = ['/usr/local/include', 'include/', 'include/vitale'], extra_link_args = ['-arch i386', '-framework fwk1', '-framework fwk2'], sources = "testmodule.cpp", language = 'c++' ) Everything is compiling and linking fine. If I remove the -framework line from the extra_link_args, my linker fails, as expected. Here is the last two lines produced by a python setup.py build : /usr/bin/g++-4.2 -arch x86_64 -arch i386 -isysroot / -L/opt/local/lib -arch x86_64 -arch i386 -bundle -undefined dynamic_lookup build/temp.macosx-10.6-intel-2.6/testmodule.o -o build/lib.macosx-10.6-intel-2.6/test.so -arch i386 -framework sgdosx -framework srtosx -framework ssvosx -framework stsosx Unfortunately, the .so that I just produced is unable to find several symbols provided by this framework. I tried to check the linked framework with otool. None of them is appearing. $ otool -L test.so test.so: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib (compatibility version 7.0.0, current version 7.9.0) /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 125.0.1) There is the output of otool run on a test binary, made with g++ and ldd using the LDFLAGS described at the top of my post. On this example, the -framework did work. $ otool -L vitaosx vitaosx: /Library/Frameworks/sgdosx.framework/Versions/A/sgdosx (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 1.0.0) /Library/Frameworks/ssvosx.framework/Versions/A/ssvosx (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 1.0.0) /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib (compatibility version 7.0.0, current version 7.9.0) /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 125.0.1) May this issue be linked to the "-undefined dynamic_lookup" flag on the linking step ? I'm a little bit confused by the few lines of documentation that I'm finding on Google. Cheers,

  • Adding libraries to a project in xcode - symbols not found

    - by kudorgyozo
I am trying to make an iphone app in xcode that uses pjsip. The problem is I don't know how to link the libraries. I have the ARM version of the libraries in this folder in mac os x. /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone In Xcode: I have specified the library and header search paths like this: for includes: /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone/pjlib/include /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone/pjlib-util/include /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone/pjmedia/include /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone/pjnath/include /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone/pjsip/include for libraries: /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone/pjlib/lib /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone/pjlib-util/lib /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone/pjmedia/lib /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone/pjnath/lib /Users/kudorgyozo/pjsip_iphone/pjsip/lib and then using the "Other linker flags" : -lpj-arm-apple-darwin9 -lpjlib-util-arm-apple-darwin9 -lpjmedia-arm-apple-darwin9 -lpjmedia-audiodev-arm-apple-darwin9 -lpjmedia-codec-arm-apple-darwin9 -lpjsdp-arm-apple-darwin9 -lpjnath-arm-apple-darwin9 -lpjsip-arm-apple-darwin9 -lpjsip-simple-arm-apple-darwin9 -lpjsip-ua-arm-apple-darwin9 -lpjsua-arm-apple-darwin9 Is this OK like this? Because it gives me symbol(s) not found errors. I think no symbol is found from the "included" libraries. I don't know what is wrong i'm just beginning to understand how building an app works under linux based systems i've only done programming in C# before.

  • Creating and using a static lib in xcode (MacOSX)

    - by Alasdair Morrison
I am trying to create a static library in xcode and link to that static library from another program. So as a test i have created a BSD static C library project and just added the following code: //Test.h int testFunction(); //Test.cpp #include "Test.h" int testFunction() { return 12; } This compiles fine and create a .a file (libTest.a). • Using GDataXMLDocument in iPad app

    - by INs
I'm trying to use GDataXML library in my ipad application. I followed by instructions: Download the gdata-objective-c client library. Unzip the file, navigate to Source\XMLSupport, and drag the two files GDataXMLNode.h and GDataXMLNode.m into your project In XCode, click Project\Edit Project Settings and make sure “All Configurations” are checked. Find the Search Paths\Header Search Paths setting and add /usr/include/libxml2 to the list. Finally, find the Linking\Other Linker Flags section and add -lxml2 to the list. • How can I use a class with the same name from another namespace in my class?

    - by Beau Simensen
I have two classes with the same name in different namespaces. I want one of these classes to reference the other class. The reason is that I am migrating to some newer code and I want to update the old code to simply pass through to the newer code. Here is a super basic example: namespace project { namespace legacy { class Content { public: Content(const string& url) : url_(url) { } string url() { return url_; } private: string url_; }; }} // namespace project::legacy; namespace project { namespace current { class Content { public: Content(const string& url) : url_(url) {} string url() { return url_; } private: string url_; }} // namespace project::current; I expected to be able to do the following to project::legacy::Content, but I am having trouble with some linker issues. Is this an issue with how I'm trying to do this, or do I need to look more closely at my project files to see if I have some sort of weird dependency issues? #include "project/current/Content.h" namespace project { namespace legacy { class Content { public: Content(const string& url) : actualContent_(url) { } string url() { return actualContent_.url(); } private: project::current::Content actualContent_; }; }} // namespace project::legacy; The test application compiles fine if I try to reference an instance of project::current::Content but if I try to reference project::current::Content from project::legacy::Content I get an: undefined reference to `project::current::Content::Content(...)` UPDATE As it turns out, this was a GNU Autotoolset issue and was unrelated to the actual topic. Thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions!

  • Adding SDK-specific frameworks to Xcode

    - by Haentz
Hi, Xcode 3.2 kind of broke the build process of my iPhone app. I need to add a new framework to my project (MediaPlayer.framework). So I go into my Target settings and try to add it to the "Linked Libraris" by hitting the [+] button. In the list the MediaPlayer.framework is missing, as well as other frameworks, such as UIKit, CoreGraphic and others. Some frameworks are still there. I can add the frameworks by adding the SDK-specific ones (going into /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOs.platform/...yadayadayada../frameworkd/) but then of course I can only compile for the iPhone platform and not for the simulator any more. So basically I wonder how I can get Xcode back to chose the appropriate framework, depending on platform and SDK version for me? Thanks and kind regards, Hans Schneider Edit: Things I tried: Setting the Base SDK to 3.0 (was still 2.2.1), reinstalling 3.0 iPhone and Simulator SDK from the "packages" directory of the Xcode 3.2 DMG. Didn't help. The frameworks still wont show up in the list... Edit 2: Ok, I now have the frameworks back in the list, I was previously in my AdHoc configuration. In Debug I have the frameworks back. But it still wont compile for the Simualtor (lots of Symbols(s) not found errors). Looks like the linker doesn't choose the correct libraries and always uses the iPhoneOs3.0 path for the frameworks.

I get this error when I try to import ssrc.spread: ImportError: dlopen(/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/site-packages/ssrc/_spread.so, 2): Symbol not found: __ZN17ssrcspread_v1_0_67Mailbox11ZeroTimeoutE The file in question (_spread.so) includes the symbol: $ nm _spread.so | grep _ZN17ssrcspread_v1_0_67Mailbox11ZeroTimeoutE U __ZN17ssrcspread_v1_0_67Mailbox11ZeroTimeoutE U __ZN17ssrcspread_v1_0_67Mailbox11ZeroTimeoutE (twice because the file is a fat ppc/x86 binary) EDIT: okay, as James points out, the U means that the symbol is undefined but required by the object file. With some more digging I've noticed (where I should have looked first...) these linker errors during compilation: CC=g++ CXX=g++ g++-4.0 -arch ppc -arch i386 -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-common -dynamic -DNDEBUG -O3 -I../.. -I../.. -I/usr/local/include -I/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/include/python2.6 -O2 -I/usr/local/include -std=c++98 -pipe -fno-gnu-keywords -fvisibility-inlines-hidden -o SsrcSpread.o -c SsrcSpread.cc CC=g++ CXX=g++ /bin/sh ../../libtool --tag=CXX --mode=link g++-4.0 -arch ppc -arch i386 -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk -bundle -undefined dynamic_lookup -F/Library/Frameworks -framework Python \ -pthread -D_REENTRANT -pedantic -Wall -Wno-long-long -Winline -Woverloaded-virtual -Wold-style-cast -Wsign-promo -L../../ssrc -lssrcspread -L/usr/local/lib -ltspread-core -o _spread.so SsrcSpread.o mkdir .libs g++-4.0 -arch ppc -arch i386 -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk -bundle -undefined dynamic_lookup -F/Library/Frameworks -framework Python -pthread -D_REENTRANT -pedantic -Wall -Wno-long-long -Winline -Woverloaded-virtual -Wold-style-cast -Wsign-promo -o _spread.so SsrcSpread.o -Wl,-bind_at_load -L/Dev/libssrcspread-1.0.6/ssrc /Dev/libssrcspread-1.0.6/ssrc/.libs/libssrcspread.a -L/usr/local/lib -ltspread-core ld: warning: in ~/Dev/libssrcspread-1.0.6/ssrc/.libs/libssrcspread.a, file was built for unsupported file format which is not the architecture being linked (ppc) ld: warning: in /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/usr/local/lib/libtspread-core.dylib, file was built for unsupported file format which is not the architecture being linked (ppc) ld: warning: in /Dev/libssrcspread-1.0.6/ssrc/.libs/libssrcspread.a, file was built for unsupported file format which is not the architecture being linked (i386) ld: warning: in /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/usr/local/lib/libtspread-core.dylib, file was built for unsupported file format which is not the architecture being linked (i386) I'm also not entirely sure that the 10.4 sdk is the right one for compiling python modules (but switching to 10.6 didn't seem to help).

  • Calling method on category included from iPhone static library causes NSInvalidArgumentException

    - by Corey Floyd
I have created a static library to house some of my code like categories. I have a category for UIViews in "UIView-Extensions.h" named Extensions. In this category I have a method called: - (void)fadeOutWithDelay:(CGFloat)delay duration:(CGFloat)duration; Calling this method works fine on the simulator on Debug configuration. However, if try to run the app on the device I get a NSInvalidArgumentException: [UIView fadeOutWithDelay:duration:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x1912b0 *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[UIView fadeOutWithDelay:duration:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x1912b0 It seems for some reason UIView-Extensions.h is not being included in the device builds. What I have checked/tried I did try to include another category for NSString, and had the same issue. Other files, like whole classes and functions work fine. It is an issue that only happens with categories. I did a clean all targets, which did not fix the problem. I checked the static library project, the categories are included in the target's "copy headers" and "compile sources" groups. The static library is included in the main projects "link binary with library" group. Another project I have added the static library to works just fine. I deleted and re-added the static library with no luck -ObjC linker flag is set Any ideas? nm output libFJSCodeDebug.a(UIView-Extensions.o): 000004d4 t -[UIView(Extensions) changeColor:withDelay:duration:] 00000000 t -[UIView(Extensions) fadeInWithDelay:duration:] 000000dc t -[UIView(Extensions) fadeOutWithDelay:duration:] 00000abc t -[UIView(Extensions) firstResponder] 000006b0 t -[UIView(Extensions) hasSubviewOfClass:] 00000870 t -[UIView(Extensions) hasSubviewOfClass:thatContainsPoint:] 000005cc t -[UIView(Extensions) rotate:] 000002d8 t -[UIView(Extensions) shrinkToSize:withDelay:duration:] 000001b8 t -[UIView(Extensions) translateToFrame:delay:duration:] U _CGAffineTransformRotate 000004a8 t _CGPointMake U _CGRectContainsPoint U _NSLog U _OBJC_CLASS_$_UIColor U _OBJC_CLASS_$_UIView U ___CFConstantStringClassReference U ___addsf3vfp U ___divdf3vfp U ___divsf3vfp U ___extendsfdf2vfp U ___muldf3vfp U ___truncdfsf2vfp U _objc_enumerationMutation U _objc_msgSend U _objc_msgSend_stret U dyld_stub_binding_helper

  • C++ error: expected initializer before ‘&’ token

    - by Werner
    Hi, the following piece of C++ code compiled two years ago in a suse 10.1 Linux machine. #ifndef DATA_H #define DATA_H #include <iostream> #include <iomanip> inline double sqr(double x) { return x*x; } enum Direction { X,Y,Z }; inline Direction next(const Direction d) { switch(d) { case X: return Y; case Y: return Z; case Z: return X; } } inline ostream& operator<<(ostream& os,const Direction d) { switch(d) { case X: return os << "X"; case Y: return os << "Y"; case Z: return os << "Z"; } } ... ... Now, I am trying to compile it on Ubuntu 9.10 and I get the error: data.h:20: error: expected initializer before ‘&’ token which is referred to the line of: inline ostream& operator<<(ostream& os,const Direction d) the g++ used on this machine is: Using built-in specs. Thanks

  • Port Win32 DLL hook to Linux

    - by peachykeen
I have a program (NWShader) which hooks into a second program's OpenGL calls (NWN) to do post-processing effects and whatnot. NWShader was originally built for Windows, generally modern versions (win32), and uses both DLL exports (to get Windows to load it and grab some OpenGL functions) and Detours (to hook into other functions). I'm using the trick where Win will look in the current directory for any DLLs before checking the sysdir, so it loads mine. I have on DLL that redirects with this method: #pragma comment(linker, "/export:oldFunc=nwshader.newFunc) To send them to a different named function in my own DLL. I then do any processing and call the original function from the system DLL. I need to port NWShader to Linux (NWN exists in both flavors). As far as I can tell, what I need to make is a shared library (.so file). If this is preloaded before the NWN executable (I found a shell script to handle this), my functions will be called. The only problem is I need to call the original function (I would use various DLL dynamic loading methods for this, I think) and need to be able to do Detour-like hooking of internal functions. At the moment I'm building on Ubuntu 9.10 x64 (with the 32-bit compiler flags). I haven't been able to find much on Google to help with this, but I don't know exactly what the *nix community refers to it as. I can code C++, but I'm more used to Windows. Being OpenGL, the only part the needs modified to be compatible with Linux is the hooking code and the calls. Is there a simple and easy way to do this, or will it involve recreating Detours and dynamically loading the original function addresses?

  • is it possible to turn off vdso on glibc side?

    - by heroxbd
I am aware that passing vdso=0 to kernel can turn this feature off, and that the dynamic linker in glibc can automatic detect and use vdso feature from kernel. Here I met with this problem. There is a RHEL 5.6 box (kernel 2.6.18-238.el5) in my institution where I only have a normal user access, probably suffering from RHEL bug 673616. As I compile a toolchain of linux-headers-3.9/gcc-4.7.2/glibc-2.17/binutils-2.23 on top of it, gcc bootstrap fails in cc1 in stage2 cannnot be run Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x00002aaaaaaca6eb in ?? Both cc1 and the test program can be run on another running RHEL 5.5 (kernel 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5) with gcc-4.7.2/glibc-2.17/binutils-2.23 as normal user. I cannot simply upgrade the box to a newer RHEL version, nor could I turn VDSO off via sysctl or proc. The question is, is there a way to compile glibc so that it turns off VDSO unconditionally?
