• How can I use html/javascript to make <a> link trigger an embedded flash object?

  Using HTML/Javascript I want to make an link trigger a flash object that is normally triggered by clicking on the flash itself. The flash objects is actually the "Call Me Now" button from Google Voice which looks something like: <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="https://clients4.google.com/voice/embed/webCallButton" width="230" height="85"> <param name="movie" value="https://clients4.google.com/voice/embed/webCallButton"/> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="FlashVars" /> </object> When you click on the object the first time it brings up a set of fields to enter your phone number in to make the call. So I want to be able to trigger that action by having a user click on a different link (which would actually be the phone number that the widget would call.)

• Access Validation Rule Violations on Append Query

  I'm recieving the following error on trying to run an append query in access. Microsoft Office Access set .... and it didnt't add... 779280 records(s) due to validation rule violations. If I choose to run the query anyways, nothing actually happens. To give some context, I'm simply trying to copy a populated field, consisting of values similar to "16-2009-02, 34-2010-02, et cetera" to another currently unpopulated field. The fields themselves have no set validation rules, and both have the standard text field options. I'm hoping to be able to simply remove those hyphens, and fix the issue. But I guess that's what I'm not sure about, are those hyphens actually a problem? Running SP3 w/ Access 2003. Thanks in advance!

Like an interface, you cannot implement an instance of an abstract class, however you can implement methods, fields, and properties in the abstract class that can be used by the child class. But on MSDN URL: TextWriter CLass on MSDN TextWriter is an abstract class but it has two constructors defined ... and according to the MS 70-536 book, the following statement is valid: TextWriter tw = new File.CreateText("myFile.Txt") The static file class and it's CreateText method is fine by me as I have studied it on MSDN but can somebody explain this little contradiction I have found? Surely I am not the first? Why is instantaion of base abstract classes possible????

• How can I support conditional validation of model properties

  I currently have a form that I am building that needs to support two different versions. Each version might use a different subset of form fields. I have to do this to support two different clients, but I don't want to have entirely different controller actions for both. So, I am trying to come up with a way to use a strongly typed model with validation attributes but have some of these attributes be conditional. Some approaches I can think of is similar to steve sanderson's partial validation approach. Where I would clear the model errors in a filter OnActionExecuting based on which version of the form was active. The other approach I was thinking of would to break the model up into pieces using something like class FormModel { public Form1 Form1Model {get; set;} public Form2 FormModel {get; set;} } and then we would validate appropriately depending on

• How to export data which are mapped to enumerations

  I have a set of data which needs to be imported from a excel sheet, lets take the simplest example. Note: the data might eventually support uploading any locale. e.g. assuming one of the fields denoting a user is gender mapped to an enumeration and stored in the database as 0 for male and 1 for female. 0 and 1 being short values. If I have to import the values I cannot expect the user to punch in numbers (since they are not intuitive and is cumbersome when the enumerations are bigger), what would be the correct way to map to enumerations. Should we ask them to provide a string value in these cases (e.g. male or female) and provide the transformation to a enum in our code by wring a method public static Gender Gender.fromString(String value)

When the form is submitted, I want to validate it with a server-side script (call it validate.php if necessary, although the code could also go in one of the other pages if that would be better). If any part of the form fails validation, I want to kick back to form.php with the fields the user needs to fix highlighted. If the form passes validation, I want to go to another page, success.php. Which page should I put in the "action" attribute of the <form> element, and what's the best way to get from that page to one of the others?

  Hi! I want to have a panel, with two columns. The first column will contain a list of beans, and the right one a form panel for editing those beans. What I want to do, is that list height is the same as height of the form panel on the right. My list of beans will be larger and larger over time, so it's height will probably exceed form height. When that happens, there should be a scrollbar showed for the list. I also don't want to set explicit size for list and my form panel (it should be flexible because some time I will add or remove some form fields). I'm basically new to GXT.   I modified my data source in my LINQ-to-SQL class (by the old delete and drag back in method), and was surprised to see the INotifyPropertyChanging & INotifyPropertyChanged interfaces no longer implemented in the generated classes (MyDb.designer.cs). The methods for the individual fields went from looking like this... • Rails - Active Record :conditions overrides :select

  I have a fairly large model and I want to retrieve only a select set of fields for each record in order to keep the JSON string I am building small. Using :select with find works great but my key goal is to use conditional logic with an associated model. Is the only way to do this really with a lamda in a named scope? I'm dreading that perhaps unnecessarily but I'd like to understand if there is a way to make the :select work with a condition. This works: @sites = Site.find :all, :select => 'id,foo,bar' When I try this: @sites = Site.find :all, :select => 'id,foo,bar', :include => [:relatedmodel], :conditions => ["relatedmodel.type in (?)", params[:filters]] The condition works but each record includes all of the Site attributes which makes my JSON string way way too large. • Does retrieving an object from Doctrine2 cause __construct() of the model class to run?

  When I retrieve an object say by $em->find('Application\Models\User', 1); or other methods like DQL, findBy*() cause the __construct() of the model class to run? I am having a problem where I set variables there like reference to EntityManager and I find that its not set. I tried putting a die() in __construct() and it doesn't halt the application. Can I say that if I want to set other properties/fields like EntityManager $em I have to do it some other way?   i have these tables /entities VacationRequestDate table which has a VacationRequestId field that links with VacationRequest table VacationRequest has PersonId and RequestStatusId fields that links with Person and RequestStatus respectively. i have this query so far: IEnumerable<VacationRequestDate> dates = Session.Query<VacationRequestDate>().Fetch(r => r.VacationRequest).ThenFetch(p=>p.RequestStatus).ToList(); this works fine and joins with VacationRequest and then VacationRequest joins with RequestStatus but i can't figure out how to add an additional EAGER join to the VacationRequest table. If i add a Fetch at the end, it refers to the VacationRequestDate table If i add a ThenFetch at the end, it refers to the RequestStatus table I can't find any api that will refer to the VacationRequest table as the reference point. how would you add multiple joins to a joined table using nhibernate LINQ ?

• Building an http packet in libnet(tcp packet), Please help us as soon as posible. we are stuck!

  we are building a NAT program,we change each packet that comes from our internal subnet, change it's source IP address by libnet functions.( catch the packet with libpcap, put it sniff structures and build the new packet with libnet) over TCP, the syn/ack packets are good after the change, and when a HTTP-GET request is coming, we can see by wireshark that there is an error on the checksum field.. all the other fields are exactly the same as the original packet. Is anyone knows what can cause this problem? the new checksum in other packets is calculated as it should be.. but in the HTTP packet it doesn't..

• Missing on-screen keyboard for Flash/Flex web application on Android?

  I have an enterprise Flex web application, served up over https, that runs fine on Flash player 10.0 and beyond from a desktop computer/browser. However, when I run it from my HTC Incredible with Android 2.2 the app loads fine, but there is no on-screen keyboard and so I cannot log in. I can see the blinking cursor inside the username and password text fields. I can switch between them. I can even hit the login button and see an authentication error! According to Adobe this should Just Work. Any ideas? I wanna show off our spanking new app to strangers at the bus stop!

Customer usually has multiple phone numbers, so when i run select statement on customer 101, i will get multiple records due to the multiple phone numbers. As you see below all the "Phone" and "Fax" field belongs to CustomerPhone table. These are considered as two records in the CustomerPhone table whereas the rest of fields relate to Customer table which is a single record. What should i do to fill Phone and Fax field in this case? Should i run select statement on CustomerPhone first and then run select statement on Customer?

If you look at the create & edit examples in the Computer Database Sample, you'll see that the form elements are repeated. With just 4 fields (in the sample form), no big deal, but when you're dealing with large, complex forms and/or handling many CRUD models, the duplication becomes a bigger maintenance issue. On the binding end ( form.bindFromRequest and form.fill(Foo) ), the implementation is so elegant for create/edit operations; is there a corresponding solution in the template layer?

• How to handle updating JDO class definitions on Google App Engine

  I'm using the Google app engine and JDO. What is the best way to update a JDO class definition without having to wipe the data store contents first? I'm not sure if this is specific to JDO on GAE, but I noticed that when I simply change the name of one of my persistent fields from svotes to votes, an exception is thrown (java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: svotes). I expect once my site goes live I might want to make some changes to my JDO class definitions, such as adding a field or something. Any suggestions for how to update the data definitions without having to wipe the database?
