• Drupal Background Image as Block or Node

  Hi There. I am having trouble wrapping my head around how to make editable background images in my custom Drupal 6 theme. My client wants to have a different background image for each main section (which use multiple content types: page, blog, image gallery)... I am wondering, is there a way to make a custom content type into a dynamic background image block? I am using the Image, Image Cache, Views, CCK, Image Assist, Panels, Filefield, and Imagefield modules. What I'd like to do is add a background image field to various content types that allows a user to reference an image from the content library or upload a new image (similar to ImageAssist), and have it apply to a region in my template. Any suggestions on the best approach for this? Thank you!

• Substring and its reverse in a string

  My professor was talking about this in a Dynamic programming class and asked us to think over it. She gave us some examples as well. Given a string, we were to find the longest continuous subsequence whose reverse is also a subsequence present in the given string. Example: INPUT: pqrstuvtsrv OUTPUT: i=3, k=2 rst -> tsr (rst found first at i=3 and for 2 more positions) INPUT: mpqrsrqp OUTPUT: i=2, k=6 pqrsrqp in reverse INPUT: mmpqssss OUTPUT: i=5, k=3 I thought of putting the string and its reverse into 2 different arrays and comparing character by character. But I'm sure this is not the best way to do it. Any suggestions as to what could be the most efficient ?

• Regex to detect a proper permalink?

  These permalinks above are rerouted to my page: page.php?permalink=events/foo page.php?permalink=events/foo/ page.php?permalink=ru/events/foo page.php?permalink=ru/events/foo/ The events is dynamic, it could be specials or packages. My dilemma is basically; I need to detect an empty link in order so I can feed a robots no index meta tag in the case of: page.php?permalink=events page.php?permalink=events/ page.php?permalink=ru/events/ page.php?permalink=ru/events I can't use a simple pattern such as [a-zA-Z]+\/?(.+)/ since it won't work on the i18n permalinks. What regex could I use which would detect this, using $_GET['permalink'] as the reference to the permalinks? And avoid false positives? Update: Empty link means there's no fragment after the "events/" part. These are empty: page.php?permalink=events page.php?permalink=events/ page.php?permalink=ru/events/ page.php?permalink=ru/events

  i have class Profile has_many :favorite_books, :dependent => :destroy has_many :favorite_quotes, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :favorite_books, :allow_destroy => true accepts_nested_attributes_for :favorite_quotes, :allow_destroy => true end I have a dynamic form where you press '+' to add new textareas for creating new favorites. What i want to do is ignore the blank ones, I find this harder to sort through in the update controller than a non nested attribute. What i have temporarily is a hack in the after_save callback deleting the empty records. Whats the most rails way to ignore these blank objects? I dont want validation and errors, just a silent deletion/ignore.

• how to word wrap a QTreeWidgetItem

  hello all, i have to populate a QTreeWidget with items (or children of items) that may happen to be too long to fit in a single line, so i'm looking for a way to word wrap them. i thought myQTreeWidget.setWordWrap(True) (done via QtDesigner4) would have done the job, but that doesn't seem to be the case. i don't konw if it is relevant, but the tree is enveloped in a splitter frame, so the wrapping should be somehow dynamic to allow resizing of the splitter. Any ideas? I use PyQt4, but hints in any language/binding would be much appreciated. have a good day all.

• JSON webservice response compression in IIS 7

  Hello! I have trouble with JSON response compression. I look to response headers after uploading website to production server (Windows 2008, IIS 7) and found uncompressed response. Turning on "Enabled static compression" and ""Enable dynamic compression" in IIS control panel does not effect. ASPX pages was responsed gzipped, but webservice response uncompressed. I looked to google, but no answer found about this trouble. Also, I try this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2405595/json-ihttpmodule-compression way (and adding to web.config this module) - but this source is excellent working at development machine with ASP.NET development server (and have seven times response size reduced) and totally ignored at IIS7. How I can apply gzip compression to json responses from my webservice? Thanks. PS .NET 3.5

• problem plotting on logscale in matplotlib in python

  I am trying to plot the following numbers on a log scale as a scatter plot in matplotlib. Both the quantities on the x and y axes have very different scales, and one of the variables has a huge dynamic range (nearly 0 to 12 million roughly) while the other is between nearly 0 and 2. I think it might be good to plot both on a log scale. I tried the following, for a subset of the values of the two variables: fig = plt.figure(figsize(8, 8)) ax = fig.add_subplot(1, 1, 1) ax.set_yscale('log') ax.set_xscale('log') plt.scatter([1.341, 0.1034, 0.6076, 1.4278, 0.0374], [0.37, 0.12, 0.22, 0.4, 0.08]) The x-axes appear log scaled but the points do not appear -- only two points appear. Any idea how to fix this? Also, how can I make this log scale appear on a square axes, so that the correlation between the two variables can be interpreted from the scatter plot? thanks.

  Coins with different value are spread in circle around a round table . We can choose any coin such that for any two adjacent pair of coins , atleast one must be selected (both maybe selected too) . In such condition we have to find minimum possible value of coins selected . I have to respect time complexity so instead of using naive recursive bruteforce , i tried doing it using dynamic programming . But i get Wrong Answer - my algorithm is incorrect . If someone could suggest an algorithm to do it dynamically , i could code myself in c++ . Also maximum number of coins is 10^6 , so i think O(n) solution exists .

• Dynamically pulling images from XML for iPhone App

  I've got my iPhone app pulling down live data content via XML nicely, and I've formatted the UITableView cells to display the content without too many headaches. However, at the moment, for each cell I'm just showing a default graphic for now, but I want this to be pulled down from my server too. The code snippet that grabs the image (which is actually in my project) is: cell.imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"TBC.png"]; But that will need to be the dynamic image. In my XML, am I better just returning 'mypic.png' and let the SDK determine the full path, like http://myapp.com/mypic.png or storing the full URL to the image in the XML?

  Hi, I have an edit form that uses an ajax form to submit to the controller. Depending on the data submitted I redirect the user to one of two pages (by returning a partial view). Both pages rely on javascript/jquery and neither use anything common between the pages. What is the best way to initialise these javascripts on each page? I know there is the AjaxOption OnComplete but both pages are quite dynamic depending on the Model passed and I would rather keep the javascript for both pages seperate rather than having a common method.   Hi Guys, I have several URLs that I want to redirect to the same place, however these are dynamic URLs. The structure is something like this: http://www.mysite.com/declaration/list?[query_string] What I think would be ideal for this situation is to use some regex in my .htaccess file to redirect all these links to the sites home page. I was wondering if someone could help me with the regex for this situation. So far, I have this, but it doesn't work: RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^(.*)$ RewriteRule ^/declaration/list$ http://www.mysite.com/$ [R=301,L] My regex is weak to say the least, something I want to, and am trying to learn.   I have a ff extension which creates a popup and shows dynamic data in it. basically when the popup opens a js function is run which then constructs the popup list by appending the items like this var myMenuPopup = document.getElementById("file-popup4"); newItem = document.createElement("menuitem"); newItem.setAttribute("label", namelist[m]); newItem.setAttribute("id", "item" + m); Now I need to have the click functionality too on these newly added menuitems. putting the atttribute and forming the function is easy. I can have a function to be run when they are clicked. But i need to pass namelist[i] to the function and it will act according to the namelist parameter.If i do: newItem.setAttribute("oncommand" , finalclick(namelist[m])); it runs the function everytime the popup opens runs the function without even clicking on it on the other hand if i use quotes i.i if i do newItem.setAttribute("oncommand" , "finalclick(namelist[m])"); it doesnot open even on clicking giving error : namelist is not defined.

  Hi, I've got a Customer object with a Collection of CustomerContacts IEnumerable Contacts { get; set; } In some other code I'm using Reflection and have the PropertyInfo of Contacts property var contacts = propertyInfo.GetValue(customerObject, null); I know contacts has at least one object in it, but how do I get it out? I don't want to Cast it to IEnumerable because I want to keep my reflection method dynamic. I thought about calling FirstOrDefault() by reflection - but can't do that easily because its an extension method. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I have a business object that stores some data in named properties and other data in a property bag.   I have a listbox which acts as a list of items. If you click on some item, it's contents are shown in the panel on the right (few textboxes etc.). I need to have a validation on these controls as all of them are required fields. And I do have it. The problem is that, even when the validators are not valid, user can click the listbox and change active index (that doesn't have impact on the panel on the right, as SelectedIndexChanged isn't fired). The validators are standard RequiredFieldValidator with their Display property set to "Dynamic". So, what I want is to disallow the user clicking on the listbox and changing the index untill all validators are Valid. What would be your solution for that? Is that even possible?

The problem is that the proxied objects can only intercept virtual methods and will return the return type's default value for non-virtual methods. I can tell whether a class is proxied or not based whether the class or any of it's method has an interception attribute, e.g. [Transaction] Is it possible to write a ReSharper 5 structural search that would warn if any non-virtual public methods are defined on a class with an interception attribute. E.g. Ok public class InterceptedClass { [Transaction] public virtual void TransactionalMethod() { ... } public virtual void AnotherMethod() { ... } } Bad public class InterceptedClass { [Transaction] public virtual void TransactionalMethod() { ... } public void AnotherMethod() // non-virtual method will not be called by proxy { ... } } Many Thanks.

  Essentially I am looking to have a url query parameter persist throughout the life of the grails application (POST or GET). ex. http://localhost:8080/demo/controller/action/?myParam=foobar I have tried a couple routes. Dynamic method overriding redirect and customizing application tags for createLink. However, since I also use grails webflows it doesn't quite get every single URL. I also tried using a groovy servlet (groovlet) to capture every URL and append the query parameter. The last attempt hasn't been very successful. Am I missing an obvious component to grails? Am I on the right track? Is there another avenue I haven't explored yet? Thanks in advance

  I'm trying to parameterise a search query that uses the LIKE keyword with a wildcard. The original sql has dynamic sql like this: "AND JOB_POSTCODE LIKE '" + isPostCode + "%' " So I've tried this instead, but I get a FormatException: "AND JOB_POSTCODE LIKE @postcode + '%' " Edit: I guess the FormatException isn't going to be coming from Sql Server CE, so as requested, here is how I set the parameter in my C# code. The parameter is set in code like this: command.Parameters.Add("@postcode", SqlDbType.NVarChar).Value = isPostCode; I also tried: "AND JOB_POSTCODE LIKE @postcode" with command.Parameters.Add("@postcode", SqlDbType.NVarChar).Value = isPostCode + "%"; but that doesn't return any results. Can anyone advise how to use parameters in this search sql?

• XAMPP is caching .html files running as PHP

  I have XAMPP (latest version) installed on my Mac OS 10.6.3 I've added the following to .htaccess because I want .html to be interpreted as PHP. AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html The problem is that the default XAMPP config seems to be caching .html files as static... so even though the PHP statements inside are being called (for example, 'echo time()' in index.html displays the dynamic output)... the actual file is being cached. When I make changes to a .html file, I've having to restart Apache for it to load the newest changes. Looking at httpd.conf, it looks like it's loading the following cache mods.. LoadModule file_cache_module modules/mod_file_cache.so LoadModule cache_module modules/mod_cache.so LoadModule disk_cache_module modules/mod_disk_cache.so LoadModule mem_cache_module modules/mod_mem_cache.so Any idea how to implement a system whereby it checks the timestamp of the file, before loading it from cache? • How can I link glibc statically with qt

  I have built a static version of qt and download a static version of glibc. Now I would like to link glibc statically to my qt application. I know about going into the .pro and adding the line LIBS += -L path/to/static_lib but I am wondering if these that is enough? Will it still link glibc statically even though the OS I am building on has the dynamic libraries also? The reason I am doing this is to deploy the application in a standalone manner. (After installing and updating Red Hat 5.3 glibc_2.9 was not found on the target computer)

• TextField instance inside a button Layer is null

  I've created an button object in flash. The button contains 2 layers. One is the background image and on top of it is a textField. The textfield is dynamic. I use the button inside a movieclip and I export it in a SWC. The I'm trying to use it in flex. I'm trying to do this: var myComponent:MyComponent = new MyComponent(); myComponent.button01.theTextField.text = "Caption"; I get and instance of the button, but the instance of the textField is null and I'm not able to change the text(but the default text appears onscreen). • How do I blur (ios7 style) a section of an image in a UITableViewCell?

  I've got a UIImageView that takes up the whole cell and shows an image. I'd like to blur the bottom third of the view in the iOS7 style (we're targeting iOS7). There will be a label over the blurred part. The issue seems to be that I can't "screenshot" the UIImageView right as I am setting up the cell in tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: as it hasn't loaded yet. Although i've even tried setting up a timer for a 0.1 second delay and that also doesn't work. I don't need dynamic updates. I've managed to get the following effect a few times but it has just tinted the view and hasn't actually blurred anything so I'm a bit confused.

I am registering all users to a URL which allows them to buy the document. The URL which can only be accessed by a registered user with a verified email ids using django-registration, allows the user to connect to paypal and make payment. How do I capture the signal and verify which user has made the payment for which product he/she is purchased, based on this information 1) I need to know two information, which user made the payment, and for which product did he or she make the payment? 2) Only if I have these information can I send the right UR:L by email. • How do I dynamically tell a .NET MVC application which datasource to point to?

  I'm beginning a port of an existing ColdFusion application to .NET MVC and one of the first issues I'm running into is that in ColdFusion we use the fact that you can define multiple datasources and access them in a dynamic way so that a particular user can be pointed at a particular database. To give an example, I might have two databases, Foo and Bar which each have a table called Locations which store locations particular to that database. The databases are guaranteed to have the same tables, so that's not a concern. In ColdFusion, you can easily dynamically point a user towards a particular datasource because it's just a string which is configured via the ColdFusion administrator (or you could programatically modify an XML file). So the question is how to do this in .NET? And specifically, I think I'd really like to use the Entity framework to leverage the ORM support it'll offer to perform operations on the data in the database, but I'm not sure how to do that (hopefully it's possible). Any thoughts?
