  Dear stackoverflow, I'm tumbled with a problem! I've set up my first check constraint using MySQL, but unfortunately I'm having a problem. When inserting a row that should fail the test, the row is inserted anyway. • C# DllImport with c++ const char* not working correctly

  I have the following function in a C++ DLL extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) bool Exist(const char* name) { //if (g_Queues.find(name) != g_Queues.end()) // return true; //else // return false; return false; } Inside my C# class I have the following: [DllImport("Whisper.dll", EntryPoint="Exist", CallingConvention=CallingConvention.Cdecl)] public static extern bool Exist(string name); Yet, whenever I call my function it ALWAYS returns true, even when I commented out my little function and made it return false. I have the feeling there is something wrong with my calling convention or any other issue with P/Invoking my DLL, probably corresponding with the string and const char*, but for now I am completely clueless. What am I doing wrong? Why does it return true instead of false? EDIT: I have figured out this has nothing to do with the const char* or string, because the problem persists with an empty function. I've tried changing the calling convention between Cdecl and StdCall and neither work correctly. I've also managed to debug my DLL and it's being called correctly and does indeed return false, but once back into C# it somehow is true. Changing the CharSet also had no effect. I've made sure I've supplied my C# program with the latest and correct version of my DLL each time, so that shouldn't be an issue aswell. Again, I am completely clueless on why the result is true when I'm in fact returning false. EDIT2: SOReader provided me with a suggestion which fixes another important issue, see my comment. Sadly, it does not fix the return issue.

• NSRunAlertPanel not working in Tiger, though it works on Leopard and Snow Leopard

  I'm currently using NSRunAlertPanel to display a dialog. It works perfectly in Leopard and Snow Leopard. In Tiger, it also works except for the icon. In Leopard and Snow Leopard, the icon I used for the App is displayed on the left side of the strings. This is the expected behavior. However, in Tiger, there is a big margin on the left side of the strings, the icon is missing but the gap for the icon is there. Here's how i used the code: NSRunAlertPanel(@"My Application", @"My Application's string contents", @"OK", nil, nil); I really need to know why this happens. I did not add any code for the icon to appear in leopard and snow, but it's there. Thanks.

• Drupal 5 Search not working on 404 pages.

  I have a <?php print $search_box; ?> in my page.tpl.php page. On pages that exist, the search works, but on 404 pages, it does not. I saw some bugs/patches threads over at drupal.org for D6.15, but none of them seem to work according to the thread and they weren't really relevant to D5.x I have a theory that the because the <?php print $search_box; ?> creates a form with an action to itself(a non-existant page), it'll get the 404. Has anyone run up against this? If so, how did you fix it? One theory I has was to somehow tap into the form and always make the action="/" (front page) which would always exist. If this is a good idea, how does one go about tapping into the FormAPI and overwriting the action? Is it a preprocess function?

• jquery html attribute not working in IE

  I am using country and state dropdowns in my form. Whenever the user selects the country in the dropdown, the respective states of the country will populate in the states dropdown. I am populating the states in the dropdown using ajax call. The problem is that the states get populated in Mozilla but it doesnt work in IE. I guess there is some problem in jquery while loading the states in the states dropdown.   I am not sure if there's an answer for this already -- couldn't find one for this (hopefully common) setup: I recently converted one of my ColdFusion projects to deploy via ANT. I have a local ant script that instructs a remote server to check out the code, and run the application's specific build file, remotely on the server. I have a few endpoints: Live - production (on the production server) Staging - on the production server, different datasource, etc. dev - on the local box. What I have run into it seems is a simple and common problem. I now need ANT to create any build, even locally. Fine, created a local endpoint and it configures for my box. Issue? How do I get it to show up as a project (automatically if possible) in Eclipse/ColdFusion builder. What I envision is instead of checking out a branch via the subversion plugin in CFBuilder/Eclipse, I now use ANT to do that for me. Since I use ColdFusion Builder (Eclipse + Adobe's plugin), I have all of eclipse's tools and plugins available to solve the problem of : how can I best call ANT from within Eclipse/ColdFusion Builder, to setup the local build as a project that I can develop and work on? I think when I check the code back in from the local box, I'd have to be sure not to check in any files with local config paths, etc. I hope this is a detailed and clear enough explanation, if not, please ask. • global variables in php not working as expected

  I'm having trouble with global variables in php. I have a $screen var set in one file, which requires another file that calls an initSession() defined in yet another file. The initSession() declares "global $screen" and then processes $screen further down using the value set in the very first script. How is this possible? To make things more confusing, if you try to set $screen again then call the initSession(), it uses the value first used once again. The following code will describe the process.   Hello, This is my messages_en_US.properties file in WEB-INF/classes folder :- Login=Login And then i created messages_fr_FR.properties :- Login=frenchLogin Then in my JSF page i wrote this :- <f:loadBundle basename="messages" var="msg"/> <h:commandButton id="btnLogin" value="#{msg.Login}" actionListener="#{IndexBean.doLogin}"/> I can correctly see the Login text by default. But when i go in firefox and change my default language to fr-fr, my text still remains the same i.e i can't see frenchLogin. I don't have anything in my faces-config.xml What am i doing wrong? • MVC app not working on server but is fine on development machine

  Hello, I am able to run my application just fine on my dev machine but as soon as I publish it to the web server some functionality is lost. Any type of .ajax POST does not work usually with a 401 unauthorized error. The server is Windows 2008 with IIS7. I also installed Visual Studio 2008 with MVC2 on the server and ran the application directly on the server and the same .ajax POST does not work but the error changed to 500 unknown. What am I doing wrong? Is there anything special you have to take care of when initializing the view controller?   I have a User Control that contains a System.Web.UI.WebControls.FileUpload control as well as a button to 'Submit'. When the button is clicked code similar to the following is executed: If FileUploadControl.HasFile Then 'Save the file and do some other stuff End If This code works just fine with Windows XP. However, if I run it from a Windows 7 64-bit machine using IE8 32-bit the HasFile property always returns false and nothing is saved?! Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi, just a quick question regarding C and processes. In my program, I create another child process and use a two-directional pipe to communicate between the child and parent. The child calls execl() to run yet another program. My question is: I want the parent to wait n amount of seconds and then check if the program that the child has run has exited (and with what status). Something like waitpid() but if the child doesn't exit in n seconds, I'd like to do something different.

So what im trying to do (or want to do) is when calling the GetAll, find out if I have called it before and check the cache, else load it, but I also want to pass a bool paramter that will force the cache to clear and requery the db.   I have downloaded the predicate builder and am having a difficult time getting it to work with the entity framework. The And predicate doesn't seem to take. When I look at the predicate.parameters.count it only shows 1. I'm not sure, but I would expect it to show 2 after I add the second one. Any help is greatly appreciated.

• Amazon EC2 php/fedora htaccess mod_rewrite not working

  Amazon EC2 with Fedora, there are 2 instances of the httpd conf, the doc root is automatically set as /home/webuser/helloworld/conf/httpd.conf and the default (which is also there) is /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf . Mod rewrite is enabled with both, we are in drupal, the .htaccess is in the folder it needs to be (on Drupal) and it loads the homepage and other static files fine, but it WILL not use htaccess. Any thoughts?
