    I am writing a card game in java where I need to spread cards from a deck into several columns until I have fixed amount of cards left. This is how I do this. public class Column extends ArrayList {} List deck = Cards.createNewDeck(); Column[] columns = new Column[10]; int c = 0; while (deck.size() 50) { if (c == 10) { c = 0; } if (columns[c] == null) { columns[c] = new Column(); } columns[c].add(Cards.dealTopCard(deck)); c += 1; } This somehow seems clunky. Is there a more readable/comprehensive way of doing the same thing?

  • Blob object not working properly even though the class is seralized

The object which I am passing for encode is also seralized object but this problem exists. Any ideas thanks

  • Discussion: Working TDD in a Scrum context

    Hi all, When I work TDD I tend to start out with the big picture and create the tests that should succeed in order for the overall assignment to be completed - it then kicks off a number of supporting classes/methods/tests as I 'dig in'. If my assignment has been planned out in detail, I would then open one task, and in order to solve it, open another and then another. Only when the overall tests are succeeding can I close the original task, which means that at any given time, I would have a number of open tasks. I find that this approach conflict somewhat with the scrum approach where, ideally, I should be able to take and close a task within a day's work - and never have more than one task open at a time. I'm looking for input about how you manage this in your project - references to articles are also very welcome, I'm sure this has been debated thoroughly somewhere...     My plan is to play mc_1 on MouseDown and mc_2 on MouseUp. The trouble I am having is that when I release, mc_2 is not playing. mc_1 plays fine when MouseDown is initiated.   • WCF service with PHP client - complex type as parameter not working

    Hi, I have a WCF service with three methods. Two of the methods return custom types (these work as expected), and the third method takes a custom type as a parameter and returns a boolean. When calling the third method via a PHP soap client it returns an 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' exception. I don't get it...but I'm plugging along trying to debug it with visual studio.

Any ideeas?

    System: Window 7 Internet Explorer 8 Ruby 1.8 Watir 1.6.5 If I manually open a browser window and then visit a site that causes a second browser window to open and then use the Watir::IE.attach method to find the second browser window everything work fine. The problem is when I open the first Internet Explorer window with the command Watir::IE.new and then visit a site that causes a second browser window to open. When I use Watir::IE.attach to find the second browser window I now get: Watir::Exception::NoMatchingWindowFoundException: Unable to location a window with title of (?-mix:x) from /ie-class.rb:297:in 'attach_browser_window' from /ie-class.rb:149:in '_attach_init' from /ie-class.rb:143:in 'attach' from (irb):15 Has anyone run into this problem and developed a solution?

    I have a bit of a task before me. (DB2 Database) I need to create a table that will be a child table (is that what it is called in SQL?) I need it so that it has a foreign key constraint with my other table, so when the parent table is modified (record deleted) the child table also loses that record. Once I have the table, I also need to populate it with the data from the other table (if there is an easy way to UPDATE this). If you could point me in the right direction, this would help alot, as I do not even know what syntax to look for.     I have a weird problem and I find no answer on google... I dynamically create and fullfil an iframe with jquery on a page. It works fine withFF and IE, but not with Safari. The iframe is created but empty (the message "greetings from the iframe !" is missing).     What am I doing wrong with this: $sql = "SELECT * FROM content WHERE threadName LIKE '%$filter%' ORDER BY lastUpdated desc UNION SELECT * FROM content WHERE threadName NOT LIKE '%$filter%' ORDER BY lastUpdated desc"; The first statement before the UNION works well on its own, but this one above returns: mysql_fetch_array() warning - supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource Am I right in believing that UNION will not return duplicate entries, in which case the second SELECT statement doesn't need to have the NOT LIKE but will just return everything that wasn't listed in the first statement.

    I'm trying to make a small modification to django lfs project, that will allow me to deactivate products with no stocks. Unfortunatelly I'm just beginning to learn python, so I have big trouble with its syntax. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm using method 'has_variants' which returns true if product has any. Then I'm building a list from variants for this product. Next for every product in this list (I've called it 'set') I check it's stock and set bool variable 'inactive' to true if product has no stocks and to false if there are any. Finally if 'inactive' is false I'm setting self.active to 0. Code fails in line with: set[] = s How to correct it ? def deactivate(self): """If there are no stocks, deactivate the product.   • html-login form not working

    I have a child page LoginContent.aspx which contains a login form. If the user logs in he should be redirected to my Welcome.aspx page. But if I press the login button the page just reloads itself, nothing happens. The codebehind on this page is empty. Both LoginContent.aspx and Welcome.aspx are child forms of the same master page. <form method="post" action="~/Welcome.aspx"> Username: <input type="text" name="username" size="15" /><br /> Password: <input type="password" name="passwort" size="15" /><br /> <input type="submit" value="Login"/></p> </form> I know I could use the asp.net login control but I want more control over things.
