• Magento: Rebuilding Flat Catalog Programmatically

  I am using a cron to import inventory changes nightly. When I try to change a product's information (price, etc) I get the following error: Column not found: 1054 Unknown column 'e.display_price_group_0' in 'field list' I can fix this by clicking "Rebuild Flat Catalog Product" in the Cache Management panel. I setup a cron to do this programmatically using the following code: Mage :: getResourceModel( 'catalog/product_flat_indexer' ) -> rebuild(); I don't get any errors when I run the script, but the "Column not found" error persists. Does anyone know how I can rebuild the flat catalog other than through the admin interface?

  Hi, i'm currently working on a HTML5 video player, i got it working fully everywhere, except on the freakin iPad. Basically, i can control everything, except the sound, i have a mute button, it works fine on Google Chrome, FF3.6 and Safari on Mac OS, but on the iPad no matter what value i put in video.volume, there is no change happening. Anybody got it working properly? • Facebook Connect cross-domain receiver URL (XXXXXXX) must have the application's Connect URL as pref

  I am trying to create a javascript widget which can be placed on any webpage and uses facebook connect to authenticate the user. What I have done is that,in any html file you put a javascript which has a document.write to show the widget. <script type="text/javascript" src="button.js"></script> On clicking the widget, the facecook login happens if the user is not already logged in to facebook (Single Sign On). There are no problems when I am putting the HTML file and the js file in the same directory as specified in the facebook connect URL. However, when I put the HTML file in some other folder and specify the absolute path to the js folder I get the warning "Facebook Connect cross-domain receiver URL (XXXXXXX) must have the application's Connect URL as prefix" The login however happens? How can this be resolved?

• Javascript onbeforeunload Issue

  Alright, I have an issue with the following code. What happens is when a user closes their browser, it should prompt them to either click OK or click CANCEL to leave the page. Clicking OK would trigger a window.location to redirect to another page for user tracking (and yes, to avoid flame wars, there is a secondary system in place to assure accurate tracking, in the event of the user killing the browser from the task manager (as mentioned in similar questions)). CANCEL would remain on the page, the issue being that no matter what button you hit, you get redirected as if you wanted to leave the page.   hi, I have an aspx page on which I have 2 static jquery tabs.Upon clicking on a button avaiable on one of these tabs,I would like to add a new tab dynamically,which gets its content loaded from another aspx page.I've also tried with the following sample http://jquery-ui.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/demos/tabs/manipulation.html I've downloaded jquery-ui-1.8rc3.custom zip file and tried to add the above page with the relevant script,css files to my asp.net website and run,but it does not seem to work.Also I do not want to have a dialog opening and asking the user to enter the tab title as in the above sample. • NSWindow does not respond to keystroke command-s

  Hello, it may pre very simple, but cannot find it: I have three windows in three separate NIBs in my application. One is opened when a new document is opened, the other two can be opened from the program's window menu. The problem is: two windows (in them the one that is opened at the beginning) accepts the normal keystroke as for example command-s for save, and the other one does not and gives a warning sound instead. I cannot figure out the difference between the two windows or their controllers. I know it will have to do with the responder chain, but I am left clueless. Any ideas? Thanks, wackazong

  let's assume that I have very basic model class Message(models.Model): msg = models.CharField(max_length=30) this model is registered with admin module: class MessageAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): pass admin.site.register(Message, MessageAdmin) Currently when I go into the admin interface, after clicking "Add message" I have only one form where I can enter the msg. I would like to have multiple forms (formset perhaps) on the "Add page" so I can create multiple messages at once. It's really annoying having to click "Save and add another" every single time. Ideally I would like to achieve something like InlineModelAdmin but it turns out that you can use it only for the models that are related to the object which is edited. What would you recommend to use to resolve this problem?

• faceBook Canvas APP not closing FB.Connect.showPermissionDialog

It is working fine and if the user hasn't granted permission before then FB.Connect.showPermissionDialog is displayed, which prompts for the permission. My problem is that on "Granting" or "Skipping" the permission by the user the dialog box doesn't go away. It resides over there and refreshes itself to open the facebook home page inside the box. It has to be forcefully closed by clicking on the X button. Am I doing any thing wrong?

  I'm in the process of writing a python module that includes some samples. These samples aren't unit-tests, and they are too long and complex to be doctests. I'm interested in best practices for automatically checking that these samples run. My current project layout is pretty standard, except that there is an extra top level makefile that has build, install, unittest, coverage and profile targets, that delegate responsibility to setup.py and nose as required. projectname/ Makefile README setup.py samples/ foo-sample foobar-sample projectname/ __init__.py foo.py bar.py tests/ test-foo.py test-bar.py I've considered adding a sampletest module, or adding nose.tools.istest decorators to the entry-point functions of the samples, but for a small number of samples, these solutions sound a bit ugly.   I'm new to Watir and I've having a little trouble getting logged in in my tests. I use authlogic as my authentication method of choice. When a User registers, they are sent an email with a confirmation link. Clicking this link confirms their account and they can then login. The issue I'm having is how do I confirm the User when using Watir? • Is there a way to make a Google Web Toolkit (GWT) Button look like a HTML Hyperlink?

  I plan on appending some comments onto a text, to do that, first, I need the concerned text to act like a button for me to launch a popup, which in turn shows the comment. For that to happen, I need to make that concerned text to act like a button in GWT, but due to some aesthetic reasons I don't want it to look like a normal GWT Button, instead, I prefer it to look like any normal HTML hyper-link, which upon clicking it, acts exactly like a GWT Button which in turn showing the comment in the pop up. So is there a way to make a GWT Button appear more like a html hyper-link? Or, at the minimum, would it be possible to convert the concerned text to .JPG for it to be inserted into a Image Button in GWT?

• Is it possible to use best_in_place with typeahead from twitter bootstrap?

  Basically, I am using best_in_place in my rails webapp to let users edit their profile info in place. The thing is, I would like users to be presented with a typeahead form for certain entries.. Here's what I'm working with: <p>College/University: <input type="text" class="span3" style="margin: 0 auto;" data-provide="typeahead" data-items="8" data-source='["University of Pennsylvania","Harvard","Yale","Princeton","Cornell","Brown","Columbia","Dartmouth"]'></p> This gives me a working form box with typeahead. However, I want to be able to wrap this in best_in_place with something like <%= best_in_place @student, :education %> so that users only see the typeahead form when they click on the text, and upon clicking away from the box or hitting enter the selection is stored in the database. Is there a reasonably easy way to do this?

• ffmpeg 0.5 flv to wav conversion creates wav files that other programs won't open.

  Hi, I am using the following command to convert FLV files to audio files to feed into julian, a speech to text program. cat ./jon2.flv | ffmpeg -i - -vn -acodec pcm_s16le -ar 16000 -ac 1 -f wav - | cat - > jon2.wav The cat's are there for debugging purposes as the final use will be a running program that will pipe FLV into ffmpeg's stdin and the stdout going to julian. The resulting wave files are identified by "file" as: jon3.wav: RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio, Microsoft PCM, 16 bit, mono 16000 Hz VLC (based on ffmpeg) plays the file, but no other tools will open/see the data. They show empty wav files or won't open/play. For example Sound Booth from CS4. Has anyone else had similar problems? Julian requires wav files 16bit mono at 16000 Hz. Julian does seem to read the file, but doesn't seem to go through the entire file (may be unrelated). Thanks, -rr

• Open protected web page passing in credentials programmatically

  I have code examples from some of my previous work that help me to post form values to a web page (login credentials) and retrieve the text from that page. Now I want to pass in form values (login credentials again) but actually open that web page in a browser given those credentials. How do I do that? I'm not doing anything nefarious. In our CRM app (home-grown as it is), I want to create a link button that opens our web site's protected products page given the user's credentials (based on the user's login credentials). Normally, I'd copy the user's credentials in our login page which then takes me to the products page. I'm trying to do this now by just clicking a link button. Any suggestions?

• shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation isn't getting called

  What sort of conditions might prevent my UIViewController's shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation method from being called? I've resorted to using NSNotificationCenter to listen for UIDeviceOrientationDidChangeNotification events, but would love to get the autoRotation behavior working properly. A couple shots in the dark about what's going wrong: Maybe I'm not creating my view controller correctly? Maybe it needs to be inserted in the responder chain and somthething I'm doing is preventing that from happening normally? This seems unlikely to me since my view controller is recieving touch events. Maybe the fact that the view contained by my controller relies on OpenGL has something to do with shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation not getting called? Do either of these sound remotely possible as being responsible? Any other ideas of things to look at?

  I am using a ASP.net form with custom onclick mouse events to modify data values. Upon clicking and updating the values, one div section of the form performs a postback. onclick="__doPostBack('ctl01$phCon1$gridReports','sel1')" This is working well, however when the browser BACK option is selected, the browser opens goes through the history of the DIV ajax/onclick actions prior to going back to the prior URL. I suspect that this may be due to the doPostBack being treated as a browsing operation. Is there a means to perform the necessary ASP.net code events to make the page work, but not have the action stored in the browser history?

  I'll be writing a small desktop app for a client that has WinXP machines and they won't be installing the .NET framework (at least not for me). So my choices are limited to either C++ or VB6, neither of which sound great. I remember reading back in the day that Mono came up with a static compiler, but recently the only thing I could find is Miguel de Icaza's entry on static compilation for a game engine for the purposes of running the app on the iPhone - not what I had in mind. Are there any products out there, free or commercial that will allow me to statically compile my .net 3.5 winform app? Thanks

• When would ShowDialog() return null?

  WPF's Window.ShowDialog method returns a nullable boolean. So does CommonDialog.ShowDialog. Now, I understand cases where these would return false (user clicked Cancel or pressed Esc), and when they would return true (code sets Window.DialogResult to true, probably in response to OK being clicked). But null? My first thought is that clicking the title bar's Close button might return null. But the docs state (and I confirmed by testing) that the title-bar Close button is treated as a Cancel. So when would Window.ShowDialog or CommonDialog.ShowDialog ever return null?

• Looking for programs on audio tape/cassette containing programs for Sinclair ZX80 PC?

  OK, so back before ice age, I recall having a Sinclair ZX80 PC (with TV as a display, and a cassette tape player as storage device). Obviously, the programs on cassette tapes made a very distinct sound (er... noise) when playing the tape... I was wondering if someone still had those tapes? The reason (and the reason this Q is programming related) is that IIRC different languages made somewhat different pitched noises, but I would like to run the tape and listen myself to confirm if that was really the case...

• Catching an exception when trying to launch a URL service from within Safari on an iPhone

  Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows - if I have an iPhone app that is registered with a URL service (e.g. alocola://), which means another app can invoke it by calling its URL - is there any way to embed this URL in an HTML page, and catch the exception if the app is not installed on the user's iPhone? Or in other words / more details: I would like to write an app that conforms to some URL invocation (like alocola:// is doing), but would like this app to be launched from a web page read by mobile Safari. However, if the app is not installed on the user's iphone, I would like to be able to display a note saying "you must have the alocola app installed on your iPhone, please download it from the app store by clicking here". Is there a way (perhaps using javascript) to have Safari indicate that the URL cannot be invoked, and catch this in order to display an intelligent message? Thanks :-) Ariel
