  • Saving a movie generated with Jython/JES on local disk

    - by Golgauth
    I made an autogenerated movie clip using JES (Jython Environment for Students). I can play it without any problem using playMovie(), but I can't figure out how to have it saved physically on disk. The full script is located here. ... movie = synthesizeFrameAndCreateMovie("D:\\FOLDER") print movie writeQuicktime(movie,"D:\\FOLDER\\movie.mov", 30) [LINE 35] #playMovie(movie) I get this error when calling the function writeQuicktime(): >>> ======= Loading Progam ======= Movie, frames: 60 The error was: Index: 0, Size: 0 I wasn't able to do what you wanted. The error java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException has occured Please check line 35 Note : I also tried the function writeAVI(), with the exact same result. This error sounds like a java bug in Jython/JES library. I am running JES under Windows 7 and have all the common Quicktime and AVI codex installed as well as the QTjava library in my jre... Any brilliant idea ? EDIT : Also tried the Linux version with same result for both QuickTime and AVI...

  • JDBC ResultSet.getString Before/After Start/End of ResultSet Exception

    - by Geowil
    I have done a lot of searching about this topic through Google but I have yet to find someone using getString() in the way that I am using it so I have not been able to fix this issue in the normal ways that are suggested. What I am trying to do is to obtain all of the information from the database and then use it to populate a table model within the program. I do so by obtaining the data with getString and place it into a String[] object: try { while (rSet.next()) { String row[] = {rSet.getString("DonorName"),rSet.getString("DonorCharity"),((String)rSet.getString("DonationAmount"))}; model.addRow(row); } } However I am always getting a dialog error message stating those error messages in the title: Exception: Before start of result set Exception: After end of result set The data is still added and everything works correctly but it is just annoying to have to dismiss those message windows. Does anyone have some suggestions?

  • openDatabase Hello World

    I'm trying to learn about openDatabase, and I think this I'm getting it to INSERT INTO TABLE1, but I can't verify that the SELECT * FROM TABLE1 is working. <html> <head> <script src="http://www.google.com/jsapi"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> google.load("jquery", "1"); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> var db; $(function(){ db = openDatabase('HelloWorld'); db.transaction( function(transaction) { transaction.executeSql( 'CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS Table1 ' + ' (TableID INTEGER NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY AUTOINCREMENT, ' + ' Field1 TEXT NOT NULL );' ); } ); db.transaction( function(transaction) { transaction.executeSql( 'SELECT * FROM Table1;',function (transaction, result) { for (var i=0; i < result.rows.length; i++) { alert('1'); $('body').append(result.rows.item(i)); } }, errorHandler ); } ); $('form').submit(function() { var xxx = $('#xxx').val(); db.transaction( function(transaction) { transaction.executeSql( 'INSERT INTO Table1 (Field1) VALUES (?);', [xxx], function(){ alert('Saved!'); }, errorHandler ); } ); return false; }); }); function errorHandler(transaction, error) { alert('Oops.   • PostGres - run a query in batches?

    - by CaffeineIV
    Is it possible to loop through a query so that if (for example) 500,000 rows are found, it'll return results for the first 10,000 and then rerun the query again? So, what I want to do is run a query and build an array, like this: $result = pg_query("SELECT * FROM myTable"); $i = 0; while($row = pg_fetch_array($result) ) { $myArray[$i]['id'] = $row['id']; $myArray[$i]['name'] = $row['name']; $i++; } But, I know that there will be several hundred thousand rows, so I wanted to do it in batches of like 10,000... 1- 9,999 and then 10,000 - 10,999 etc... The reason why is because I keep getting this error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3 bytes) Which, incidentally, I don't understand how 3 bytes could exhaust 512M... So, if that's something that I can just change, that'd be great, although, still might be better to do this in batches?

  • Moving to OOP hopefully!

    - by Luke
    So I am trying to understand OOP more and use it. The following code was written before i started using OOP. //loop through all the users $game = "$_POST[Game]_teams"; $result = mysql_query("SELECT username FROM `users`") or die(mysql_error()); while( $row=mysql_fetch_assoc($result) ) { $u[] = $row['username']; } I have put the query into my database page like following: function selectAllUsers() { $q = "SELECT username FROM ".TBL_USERS.""; mysql_query($q, $this->connection); } I'm a little confused about how the rest could be different? Would it be? Is it possible for anyone to help me without more code or understanding of my structure?

  • getting names subgroups

    - by Abruzzo Forte e Gentile
    Hi All I am working with the new version of boost 1.42 and I want to use regex with named sub groups. Below an example. std::string line("match this here FIELD=VALUE in the middle"); boost::regex rgx("FIELD=(?\\w+)", boost::regex::perl ); boost::smatch thisMatch; boost::regex_searh( line, thisMatch, rgx ); Do you know how to get the content of the match ? The traditional way is std::string result( mtch["VAL"].first, mtch["VAL"].second ); but i don't want to use this way. I want to use the name of the subgroups as usual in Perl and in regex in general. I tried this, but it didn't work. std::string result( mtch["VAL"].first, mtch["VAL"].second ); Do you know how to get the value using the name of the subgroup? Thanks AFG

  • How to get HTML from external contents with Jquery?

    Hi, I have successfully achieved the task of getting an internal webpage to show on my HTML, like I show bellow. click here to see teste1.html $('#target').click(function() { $.get('teste1.html', function(data) { $('#result').html(data); alert('Load was performed.'); }); }); The main goal is to get an external webpage, but this is not working: $.get('http://www.google.com/index.html', function(data) { $('#result').html(data); alert('Load was performed.'); }); I need to get the HTML from an external webpage to read the tags and then output to Json. Some clues on how to achieve this(load external webpages with Jquery, or should I do it with PHP)? Best Regards.

  • Find overdrawn accounts in SQL

    - by mazzzzz
    Hey guys, I have a program that allows me to run queries against a large database. I have two tables that are important right now, Deposits and withdraws. Each contains a history of every user. I need to take each table, add up every deposit and withdraws (per user), then subtract the withdraws from the deposits. I then need to return every user whos result is negative (aka they withdrew more then they deposited). Is this possible in one query? Example: Deposit Table: |ID|UserName|Amount| |1 | Use1 |100.00| |2 | Use1 |50.00 | |3 | Use2 |25.00 | |4 | Use1 | 5.00 | WithDraw Table: |ID|UserName|Amount| |2 | Use2 | 5.00 | |1 | Use1 |100.00| |4 | Use1 | 5.00 | |3 | Use2 |25.00 | So then the result would output: |OverWithdrawers| | Use2 | Is this possible (I sure don't know how to do it)? Thanks for any help, Max

  • How can I calculate the sum of all positive integers less than n? [closed]

    - by Adrian Godong
    I have the following function: f(n) = f(n - 1) + (n - 1) f(0) = 0 n >= 0 I have n declared on column A, and need the result of f(n) on column B. I'm trying to find the Excel formula equivalent for this function. Sample Result: A | B --+-- 0 | 0 or: A | B --+-- 1 | 0 or: A | B --+-- 4 | 6 but never: A | B --+-- 0 | 0 1 | 0 2 | 1 ... The biggest problem is, I can't simulate the value of f(n - 1). So referencing the previous row like the above example is invalid. I'm almost sure the answer is trivial, I just can't find it.

  • Using exponential smoothing with NaN values

    - by Eric
    I have a sample of some kind that can create somewhat noisy output. The sample is the result of some image processing from a camera, which indicates the heading of a blob of a certain color. It is an angle from around -45° to +45°, or a NaN, which means that the blob is not actually in view. In order to combat the noisy data, I felt that exponential smoothing would do the trick. However, I'm not sure how to handle the NaN values. On the one hand, involving them in the math would result in a NaN average, which would then prevent any meaningful results. On the other hand, ignoring NaN values completely would mean that a "no-detection" scenario would never be reported. And just to complicate things, the data is also noisy in that it can get false NaN value, which ideally would be smoothed somehow to prevent random noise. Any ideas about how I could implement such an exponential smoother?

  • Left Join works with table but fails with query

    - by Frank Martin
    The following left join query in MS Access 2007 SELECT Table1.Field_A, Table1.Field_B, qry_Table2_Combined.Field_A, qry_Table2_Combined.Field_B, qry_Table2_Combined.Combined_Field FROM Table1 LEFT JOIN qry_Table2_Combined ON (Table1.Field_A = qry_Table2_Combined.Field_A) AND (Table1.Field_B = qry_Table2_Combined.Field_B); is expected by me to return this result: +--------+---------+---------+---------+----------------+ |Field_A | Field_B | Field_A | Field_B | Combined_Field | +--------+---------+---------+---------+----------------+ |1 | | | | | +--------+---------+---------+---------+----------------+ |1 | | | | | +--------+---------+---------+---------+----------------+ |2 |1 |2 |1 |John, Doe | +--------+---------+---------+---------+----------------+ |2 |2 | | | | +--------+---------+---------+---------+----------------+ [Table1] has 4 records, [qry_Table2_Combined] has 1 record. But it gives me this: +--------+---------+---------+---------+----------------+ |Field_A | Field_B | Field_A | Field_B | Combined_Field | +--------+---------+---------+---------+----------------+ |2 |1 |2 |1 |John, Doe | +--------+---------+---------+---------+----------------+ |2 |2 |2 | |, | +--------+---------+---------+---------+----------------+ Really weird is that the [Combined_Field] has a comma in the second row. I use a comma to concatenate two fields in [qry_Table2_Combined]. If the left join query uses a table created from the query [qry_Table2_Combined] it works as expected. Why does this left join query not give the same result for a query and a table? And how can i get the right results using a query in the left join?

  • Can I customize the indentation of ternary operators in emacs' cperl-mode?

    - by Ryan Thompson
    In emacs cperl-mode, ternary operators are not treated specially. If you break them over multiple lines, cperl-mode simply indents each line the same way it indents any continued statement, like this: $result = ($foo == $bar) ? 'result1' : ($foo == $baz) ? 'result2' : ($foo == $qux) ? 'result3' : ($foo == $quux) ? 'result4' : fail_result; This is not very readable. Is there some way that I can convince cperl-mode indent like this? $result = ($foo == $bar) ? 'result1' : ($foo == $baz) ? 'result2' : ($foo == $qux) ? 'result3' : ($foo == $quux) ? 'result4' : fail_result; By the way, code example from this question.

  • Catch access to undefined property in JavaScript

    - by avri
    The Spider-Monkey JavaScript engine implements the noSuchMethod callback function for JavaScript Objects. This function is called whenever JavaScript tries to execute an undefined method of an Object. I would like to set a callback function to an Object that will be called whenever an undefined property in the Object is accessed or assigned to. I haven't found a noSuchProperty function implemented for JavaScript Objects and I am curios if there is any workaround that will achieve the same result. Consider the following code: var a = {}; a.__defineGetter__("bla", function(){alert(1);return 2;}); alert(a.bla); It is equivalent to [alert(1);alert(2)] - even though a.bla is undefined. I would like to achieve the same result but to unknown properties (i.e. without knowing in advance that a."bla" will be the property accessed)

  • One big call vs. multiple smaller TSQL calls

    - by BrokeMyLegBiking
    I have a ADO.NET/TSQL performance question. We have two options in our application: 1) One big database call with multiple result sets, then in code step through each result set and populate my objects. This results in one round trip to the database. 2) Multiple small database calls. There is much more code reuse with Option 2 which is an advantage of that option. But I would like to get some input on what the performance cost is. Are two small round trips twice as slow as one big round trip to the database, or is it just a small, say 10% performance loss? We are using C# 3.5 and Sql Server 2008 with stored procedures and ADO.NET.
