Is the call to a method resolved on compiling the code? So whats the difference between normal method call and calling a final method? Which one is linked at compile time?

    Hi I was just wondering if its possible to do an ajax post a file in asp.net mvc, basically i have a form with two buttons, one of the buttons extracts images for the selected document and displays them for the user to choose thumbnails for the document he is about to upload. The usee then fills out the rest of the form and then saves the document. With the image extraction, I was owndering if it was possible to do that as an ajax post.     I have created a project using the following maven webapp project in eclipse: When adding a package to the project (right click project - new - package), the package gets added as a folder (I added a package named core). It does not have the usual package icon: If I try to create a new class and select a package, there are no entries in the list box. I have tried creating packages in a normal eclipse dynamic web project and these work correctly. How do I get packages in Maven enabled webapp projects?

    Normally all validation methods is connected to a field, radiobuttons, dropdowns etc. In my case I would like to do a general custom validation that depends on many fields in my form. I dont want one field of them to become highlighted like a normal "required", i would rather just show a message in the errorcontainer. Is there a simple way to do this I have overlooked?

    Not sure if this is possible..basically a server forwards/bridges an incoming connection Client - Server - Destination Now, rather than a normal proxy script on the server(or a simple redirect), 1) the Destination sees the incoming connection as from the CLIENT (not from the SERVER).. aka masking the server 2) the Server in the middle streams the data back to the client(without downloading it first, then passing it) Anyone know how to do this or something like it in PHP ?

    I'd like to do the following with Python: Computer 1 starts SSH server (probably using twisted or paramiko) Computer 1 connects to Server 1 (idle connection) Computer 2 connects to Server 1 Server 1 forwards Computer 2's connection to Computer 1 (connection no longer idle) Computer 1 forwards Server 1's connection to listening SSH port (on computer 1) Result being Computer 2 now has a SSH session with Computer 1, almost as if Computer 2 had started a normal SSH session (but with Server 1's IP instead of Computer 1's) I need this because I can't port forward on Computer 1's network (the router doesn't support it).

  • What does it mean when a ByteInputStream keeps returning 0?

    I have a ByteInputStream, created from a Socket in Java. The connection is to a simple web server that uses chunked transfer encoding. The web server does in fact work in normal browser. But in my program, I am attempting to read, I read the first first bytes (some 5kb of data). But each read after that returns 0 bytes read. Isn't it supposed to block until it can read?

  • Export from a standalone database to an embedded database.

    I have a two-part application, where there is a central database that is edited, and then at certain times, the data is released and distributed as its own application. I would like to use a standalone database for the central database (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) and then have a reliable export to an embedded database (probably SQLite) for distribution. What tools/processes are available for such an export, or is it a practice to be avoided? EDIT: A couple of additional pieces of information. The distributed application should be able to run without having to connect to another server (ex: your spellchecker still works even you don't have internet), and I don't want to install a full DB server for read-only access to the data.

  • scaffold does not update view

    Hi there I have a question to the following procedure: script/generate scaffold product title:string description:text db:migrate #then I generate a migration which adds a column description to the table products and migrate the db again. My question is: why is the field description not added to the project-views? Is that normal rails scaffold behaviour? I think I saw in a video tutorial that the scaffold updates as well the views, which would be very convenient. Thanks in advance for any help!

    I have one activity which i am using for displaying Dialogs and as a normal layout. So what i want to do is, sometimes i want to start activity as Theme Dialog and some times using setContentView. I can't use <activity android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Dialog"> in manifest file as it will always display activity as dialog. So can we do it programmatic, i have also tried setTheme() method but it did't work. Thanks, PP.

    may be this question had been asked, I've searched but still not confident about my problem.. my problem is checking valid date from string $a='23-June-11'; //valid $b='Normal String';//invalid I want to convert $a and $b using strtotime() before I do that, of course i want to validate whether $a or $b is a valid date format From $a i can get 23, 11 using explode function, but how about 'June'? using function above, 'June' is not numeric

  • Generating a perfectly distributed grid from array

    I'm looking for a formula or rule that will allow me to distribute n characters into a n*n grid with as perfect of a distribution as possible. Let's say we have an array of 5 characters, A through E. Here's an example of how it definitely shouldn't turn out: A B C D E B C D E A C D E A B D E A B C E A B C D The pattern is very clear here, it doesn't look "random". It would look better this way: A B C D E D E A B C B C D E A E A B C D C D E A B What I basically did here was place the A B C D E on the first row, then shift it by 2 on the second row, by 4 on the third row, 1 on the fourth row and 3 on the fifth row. Compared to the very bad example, this one shows no clear pattern. Though I'm certainly hoping there is a pattern, so I can use it to calculate not only small arrays such as this one, but arrays of any size. Any ideas as to how this can be accomplished?

    I am trying to plot a simple heatmap of some data distribution in R. My data = matrix (5000 x3( Time , Complexity, Localisation )). Time ( 0- 7000) Cmplx (0-4) Localisation (1-15). i.e Time Cmplx Localisation 567 3 1 54 0 2 345 3 12 567 4 12 345 2 9 989 4 7 ... ... ... The idea is to plot the Time in relation to each Cmplx and each Localisation (Something like accumarray in mathlab) Have someone an idea? Thanks in advance, Guillon_
