• C# Reflection - Casting private Object field

    - by alhazen
    I have the following classes: public class MyEventArgs : EventArgs { public object State; public MyEventArgs (object state) { this.State = state; } } public class MyClass { // ... public List<string> ErrorMessages { get { return errorMessages; } } } When I raise my event, I set 'State' of the MyEventArgs object to an object of type MyClass. I'm trying to retrieve ErrorMessages by reflection in my event handler: public static void OnEventEnded(object sender, EventArgs args) { Type type = args.GetType(); FieldInfo stateInfo = type.GetField("State"); PropertyInfo errorMessagesInfo = stateInfo.FieldType.GetProperty("ErrorMessages"); object errorMessages = errorMessagesInfo.GetValue(null, null); } But this returns errorMessagesInfo as null (even though stateInfo is not null). Is it possible to retrieve ErrorMessages ? Thank you

  • Thread safe lazy contruction of a singleton in C++

    - by pauldoo
    Is there a way to implement a singleton object in C++ that is: Lazily constructed in a thread safe manner (two threads might simultaneously be the first user of the singleton - it should still only be constructed once). Doesn't rely on static variables being constructed beforehand (so the singleton object is itself safe to use during the construction of static variables). (I don't know my C++ well enough, but is it the case that integral and constant static variables are initialized before any code is executed (ie, even before static constructors are executed - their values may already be "initialized" in the program image)? If so - perhaps this can be exploited to implement a singleton mutex - which can in turn be used to guard the creation of the real singleton..) Excellent, it seems that I have a couple of good answers now (shame I can't mark 2 or 3 as being the answer). There appears to be two broad solutions: Use static initialisation (as opposed to dynamic initialisation) of a POD static varible, and implementing my own mutex with that using the builtin atomic instructions. This was the type of solution I was hinting at in my question, and I believe I knew already. Use some other library function like pthread_once or boost::call_once. These I certainly didn't know about - and am very grateful for the answers posted.

  • DataAnnotation attributes buddy class strangeness - ASP.NET MVC

    - by JK
    Given this POCO class that was automatically generated by an EntityFramework T4 template (has not and can not be manually edited in any way): public partial class Customer { [Required] [StringLength(20, ErrorMessage = "Customer Number - Please enter no more than 20 characters.")] [DisplayName("Customer Number")] public virtual string CustomerNumber { get;set; } [Required] [StringLength(10, ErrorMessage = "ACNumber - Please enter no more than 10 characters.")] [DisplayName("ACNumber")] public virtual string ACNumber{ get;set; } } Note that "ACNumber" is a badly named database field, so the autogenerator is unable to generate the correct display name and error message which should be "Account Number". So we manually create this buddy class to add custom attributes that could not be automatically generated: [MetadataType(typeof(CustomerAnnotations))] public partial class Customer { } public class CustomerAnnotations { [NumberCode] // This line does not work public virtual string CustomerNumber { get;set; } [StringLength(10, ErrorMessage = "Account Number - Please enter no more than 10 characters.")] [DisplayName("Account Number")] public virtual string ACNumber { get;set; } } Where [NumberCode] is a simple regex based attribute that allows only digits and hyphens: [AttributeUsage(AttributeTargets.Property)] public class NumberCodeAttribute: RegularExpressionAttribute { private const string REGX = @"^[0-9-]+$"; public NumberCodeAttribute() : base(REGX) { } } NOW, when I load the page, the DisplayName attribute works correctly - it shows the display name from the buddy class not the generated class. The StringLength attribute does not work correctly - it shows the error message from the generated class ("ACNumber" instead of "Account Number"). BUT the [NumberCode] attribute in the buddy class does not even get applied to the AccountNumber property: foreach (ValidationAttribute attrib in prop.Attributes.OfType<ValidationAttribute>()) { // This collection correctly contains all the [Required], [StringLength] attributes // BUT does not contain the [NumberCode] attribute ApplyValidation(generator, attrib); } Why does the prop.Attributes.OfType<ValidationAttribute>() collection not contain the [NumberCode] attribute? NumberCode inherits RegularExpressionAttribute which inherits ValidationAttribute so it should be there. If I manually move the [NumberCode] attribute to the autogenerated class, then it is included in the prop.Attributes.OfType<ValidationAttribute>() collection. So what I don't understand is why this particular attribute does not work in when in the buddy class, when other attributes in the buddy class do work. And why this attribute works in the autogenerated class, but not in the buddy. Any ideas? Also why does DisplayName get overriden by the buddy, when StringLength does not?

  • using the ASP.NET Caching API via method annotations in C#

    - by craigmoliver
    In C#, is it possible to decorate a method with an annotation to populate the cache object with the return value of the method? Currently I'm using the following class to cache data objects: public class SiteCache { // 7 days + 6 hours (offset to avoid repeats peak time) private const int KeepForHours = 174; public static void Set(string cacheKey, Object o) { if (o != null) HttpContext.Current.Cache.Insert(cacheKey, o, null, DateTime.Now.AddHours(KeepForHours), TimeSpan.Zero); } public static object Get(string cacheKey) { return HttpContext.Current.Cache[cacheKey]; } public static void Clear(string sKey) { HttpContext.Current.Cache.Remove(sKey); } public static void Clear() { foreach (DictionaryEntry item in HttpContext.Current.Cache) { Clear(item.Key.ToString()); } } } In methods I want to cache I do this: [DataObjectMethod(DataObjectMethodType.Select)] public static SiteSettingsInfo SiteSettings_SelectOne_Name(string Name) { var ck = string.Format("SiteSettings_SelectOne_Name-Name_{0}-", Name.ToLower()); var dt = (DataTable)SiteCache.Get(ck); if (dt == null) { dt = new DataTable(); dt.Load(ModelProvider.SiteSettings_SelectOne_Name(Name)); SiteCache.Set(ck, dt); } var info = new SiteSettingsInfo(); foreach (DataRowView dr in dt.DefaultView) info = SiteSettingsInfo_Load(dr); return info; } Is it possible to separate those concerns like so: (notice the new annotation) [CacheReturnValue] [DataObjectMethod(DataObjectMethodType.Select)] public static SiteSettingsInfo SiteSettings_SelectOne_Name(string Name) { var dt = new DataTable(); dt.Load(ModelProvider.SiteSettings_SelectOne_Name(Name)); var info = new SiteSettingsInfo(); foreach (DataRowView dr in dt.DefaultView) info = SiteSettingsInfo_Load(dr); return info; }

  • Finding the closest object in proxmity to the mouse Coordinates

    - by Cam
    Hey there, i've been working on a problem for a while now, which involves targeting the closest movieClip in relation to the x y coords of the mouse, I've attached a nice little acompanying graphic. Each mc added to the stage has it's own sub-class (HotSpots) which uses Pythag to measure distance from mouse. At this stage i can determine the closest value from my Main class but can't figure out how to reference it back to the movieclip... hope this makes sense. Below are the two Classes. My Main Class which attachs the mcs, and monitors mouse movement and traces closest value package { import flash.display.*; import flash.text.*; import flash.events.*; public class Main extends MovieClip { var pos:Number = 50; var nodeArray:Array; public function Main(){ nodeArray = []; for(var i:int = 0; i < 4; i++) { var hotSpot_mc:HotSpots = new HotSpots; hotSpot_mc.x += pos; hotSpot_mc.y += pos; addChild(hotSpot_mc); nodeArray.push(hotSpot_mc); // set some pos pos += 70; } stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE,updateProxmity) } public function updateProxmity(e:MouseEvent):void { var tempArray:Array = new Array(); for(var i:int = 0; i < 4; i++) { this['tf'+[i]].text = String(nodeArray[i].dist); tempArray.push(nodeArray[i].dist); } tempArray.sort(Array.NUMERIC); var minValue:int = tempArray[0]; trace(minValue) } } } My HotSpots Class package { import flash.display.MovieClip; import flash.events.Event; import flash.text.TextField; public class HotSpots extends MovieClip { public var XSide:Number; public var YSide:Number; public var dist:Number = 0; public function HotSpots() { addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, textUp); } public function textUp(event:Event):void { XSide = this.x - MovieClip(root).mouseX; YSide = this.y - MovieClip(root).mouseY; dist = Math.round((Math.sqrt(XSide*XSide + YSide*YSide))); } } } thanks in advance

  • how to join a set of XElements to the values of a struct?

    - by jcollum
    Let's say I have a struct that contains local environments: public struct Environments { public const string Dev = "DEV"; public const string Qa1 = "SQA"; public const string Prod1 = "PROD"; public const string Prod2 = "PROD_SA"; public const string Uat = "UAT"; } And I'd like to pull a set of XElements out of an xml doc, but only those elements that have a key that matches a value in a struct. this.environments =(from e in settings.Element("Settings").Element("Environments") .Elements("Environment") .Where( x => x.HasAttribute("name") ) join f in [struct?] on e.Attribute("name") equals [struct value?]).ToDictionary(...) How would I go about doing this? Do I need reflection to get the values of the constants in the struct?

  • DeSerialization doesn't work though i Implement GetObjectData method and Constructor

    - by Punit Singhi
    Hi, I have a static generic dictionary in a class. As static memeber cannot serialized so i have implented ISerializable interface and method GetObjectData to serialize. I have a constructor which will also accept SerializationInfo and StreamingContext to deserliaze the dictionay. Now when i try to serialize and deserialize , it always return 1(thoug i added 2 entries). please find the pseduo code- [Serializable] public class MyClass : ISerializable { internal static Dictionary<long, string> dict = new Dictionary<long,string>(); public void GetObjectData(SerializationInfo info, StreamingContext context) { info.AddValue("static.dic", MyClass1.dict, typeof(Dictionary<long, string>)); } public MyClass(SerializationInfo info, StreamingContext context) { MyClass.dict= (Dictionary<long, string>)info.GetValue("static.dic", typeof(Dictionary<long, string>)); } public void Add() { dict.Add(21, "11"); } public MyClass() { dict.Add(21, "11"); } } public class MyClass { MyClass myClass = new MyClass(); public static void Main() { myClass.Add(); FileStream fileStream = new FileStream("test.binary", FileMode.Create); IFormatter bf = new BinaryFormatter(); bf.Serialize(fileStream, myClass); fileStream.Dispose(); fileStream.Close(); fileStream = new FileStream("test.binary", FileMode.Open); bf = new BinaryFormatter(); myClass = (MyClass1)bf.Deserialize(fileStream); } }

  • Using Interfaces in action signature

    - by Dmitry Borovsky
    Hello, I want to use interface in Action signature. So I've tried make own ModelBinder by deriving DefaultModelBinder: public class InterfaceBinder<T> : DefaultModelBinder where T: new() { protected override object CreateModel(ControllerContext controllerContext, ModelBindingContext bindingContext, Type modelType) { return base.CreateModel(controllerContext, bindingContext, typeof(T)); } } public interface IFoo { string Data { get; set; } } public class Foo: IFoo /*other interfaces*/ { /* a lot of */ public string Data { get; set; } } public class MegaController: Controller { public ActionResult Process( [ModelBinder(typeof(InterfaceBinder))]IFoo foo){/bla-bla-bla/} } But it doesn't work. Does anybody have idea how release this behaviour? And yes, I know that I can make my own implementation of IModelBinder, but I'm looking for easier way.

  • Mocking objects with complex Lambda Expressions as parameters

    - by iCe
    Hi there, I´m encountering this problem trying to mock some objects that receive complex lambda expressions in my projects. Mostly with with proxy objects that receive this type of delegate: Func<Tobj, Fun<TParam1, TParam2, TResult>> I have tried to use Moq as well as RhinoMocks to acomplish mocking those types of objects, however both fail. (Moq fails with NotSupportedException, and in RhinoMocks simpy does not satisgy expectation). This is simplified example of what I´m trying to do: I have a Calculator object that does calculations: public class Calculator { public Calculator() { } public int Add(int x, int y) { var result = x + y; return result; } public int Substract(int x, int y) { var result = x - y; return result; } } I need to validate parameters on every method in the Calculator class, so to keep with the Single Responsability principle, I create a validator class. I wire everything up using a Proxy class, that prevents having duplicate code: public class CalculatorProxy : CalculatorExample.ICalculatorProxy { private ILimitsValidator _validator; public CalculatorProxy(Calculator _calc, ILimitsValidator _validator) { this.Calculator = _calc; this._validator = _validator; } public int Operation(Func<Calculator, Func<int, int, int>> operation, int x, int y) { _validator.ValidateArgs(x, y); var calcMethod = operation(this.Calculator); var result = calcMethod(x, y); _validator.ValidateResult(result); return result; } public Calculator Calculator { get; private set; } } Now, I´m testing a component that does use the CalculatorProxy, so I want to mock it, for example using Rhino Mocks: [TestMethod] public void ParserWorksWithCalcultaroProxy() { var calculatorProxyMock = MockRepository.GenerateMock<ICalculatorProxy>(); calculatorProxyMock.Expect(x => x.Calculator).Return(_calculator); calculatorProxyMock.Expect(x => x.Operation(c => c.Add, 2, 2)).Return(4); var mathParser = new MathParser(calculatorProxyMock); mathParser.ProcessExpression("2 + 2"); calculatorProxyMock.VerifyAllExpectations(); } However I cannot get it to work! Any ideas about how this can be done? Thanks a lot!

  • Still confuse parse JSON in GWT

    - by graybow
    Please help meee. I create a project named 'tesdb3' in eclipse. I create the PHP side to access the database, and made the output as JSON.. I create the userdata.php in folder war. then I compile tesdb3 project. Folder tesdb3 and the userdata.php in war moved in local server(I use WAMP). I put the PHP in folder tesdb3. This is the result from my localhost/phpmyadmin/tesdb3/userdata.php [{"kode":"002","nama":"bambang gentolet"},{"kode":"012","nama":"Algiz"}] From that result I think the PHP side was working good.Then I create UserData.java as JSNI overlay like this: package com.tesdb3.client; import com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptObject; class UserData extends JavaScriptObject{ protected UserData() {} public final native String getKode() /*-{ return this.kode; }-*/; public final native String getNama() /*-{ return this.nama; }-*/; public final String getFullData() { return getKode() + ":" + getNama(); } } Then Finally in the tesdb3.java: public class Tesdb3 implements EntryPoint { String url= "http://localhost/phpmyadmin/tesdb3/datauser.php"; private native JsArray<UserData> getuserdata(String json) /*-{ return eval(json); }-*/; public void LoadData() throws RequestException{ RequestBuilder builder = new RequestBuilder(RequestBuilder.GET, URL.encode(url)); builder.sendRequest(null, new RequestCallback(){ @Override public void onError(Request request, Throwable exception) { Window.alert("error " + exception); } public void onResponseReceived(Request request, Response response) { Window.alert("betul" + response.getText()); //data(getuserdata(response.getText())); } }); } public void data(JsArray<UserData> data){ for (int i = 0; i < data.length(); i++) { String lkode =data.get(i).getKode(); String lname =data.get(i).getNama(); Label l = new Label(lkode+" "+lname); tb.setWidget(i, 0, l); } RootPanel.get().add(new HTML("my data")); RootPanel.get().add(tb); } public void onModuleLoad() { try { LoadData(); } catch (RequestException e) { } } } The result just showing string "my data". And the Window.alert(response.getText()) showing nothing. Whyy?

  • Steganography Experiment - Trouble hiding message bits in DCT coefficients

    - by JohnHankinson
    I have an application requiring me to be able to embed loss-less data into an image. As such I've been experimenting with steganography, specifically via modification of DCT coefficients as the method I select, apart from being loss-less must also be relatively resilient against format conversion, scaling/DSP etc. From the research I've done thus far this method seems to be the best candidate. I've seen a number of papers on the subject which all seem to neglect specific details (some neglect to mention modification of 0 coefficients, or modification of AC coefficient etc). After combining the findings and making a few modifications of my own which include: 1) Using a more quantized version of the DCT matrix to ensure we only modify coefficients that would still be present should the image be JPEG'ed further or processed (I'm using this in place of simply following a zig-zag pattern). 2) I'm modifying bit 4 instead of the LSB and then based on what the original bit value was adjusting the lower bits to minimize the difference. 3) I'm only modifying the blue channel as it should be the least visible. This process must modify the actual image and not the DCT values stored in file (like jsteg) as there is no guarantee the file will be a JPEG, it may also be opened and re-saved at a later stage in a different format. For added robustness I've included the message multiple times and use the bits that occur most often, I had considered using a QR code as the message data or simply applying the reed-solomon error correction, but for this simple application and given that the "message" in question is usually going to be between 10-32 bytes I have plenty of room to repeat it which should provide sufficient redundancy to recover the true bits. No matter what I do I don't seem to be able to recover the bits at the decode stage. I've tried including / excluding various checks (even if it degrades image quality for the time being). I've tried using fixed point vs. double arithmetic, moving the bit to encode, I suspect that the message bits are being lost during the IDCT back to image. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to get this working would be hugely appreciated. (PS I am aware that the actual DCT/IDCT could be optimized from it's naive On4 operation using row column algorithm, or an FDCT like AAN, but for now it just needs to work :) ) Reference Papers: http://www.lokminglui.com/dct.pdf http://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1006/1006.1186.pdf Code for the Encode/Decode process in C# below: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Drawing.Imaging; using System.Drawing; namespace ImageKey { public class Encoder { public const int HIDE_BIT_POS = 3; // use bit position 4 (1 << 3). public const int HIDE_COUNT = 16; // Number of times to repeat the message to avoid error. // JPEG Standard Quantization Matrix. // (to get higher quality multiply by (100-quality)/50 .. // for lower than 50 multiply by 50/quality. However to get the message to come through without corruption I have to adjust both coefficients as well as swap them. For example swapping (3,4) and (4,3) in the DCT matrix and then respectively adding 8 and subtracting 8 as an arbitrary constant seems to work. This survives a re-JPEG'ing of 96 but any form of scaling/cropping destroys the message again. I was hoping that by operating on mid to low frequency values that the message would be preserved even under some light image manipulation.

  • User entered value validation and level of error catching

    - by Terry
    May I ask should the error catching code be placed at the lowest level or at the top as I am not sure what is the best practice? I prefer placing at the bottom, example a, as Example a public static void Main(string[] args) { string operation = args[0]; int value = Convert.ToInt32(args[1]); if (operation == "date") { DoDate(value); } else if (operation == "month") { DoMonth(value); } } public static void DoMonth(int month) { if (month < 1 || month > 12) { throw new Exception(""); } } public static void DoDate(int date) { if (date < 1 || date > 31) { throw new Exception(""); } } or example b public static void Main(string[] args) { string operation = args[0]; int value = Convert.ToInt32(args[1]); if (operation == "date" && (date < 1 || date > 12)) { throw new Exception(""); } else if (operation == "month" && (month < 1 || month > 31)) { throw new Exception(""); } if (operation == "date") { DoDate(value); } else if (operation == "month") { DoMonth(value); } } public static void DoMonth(int month) { } public static void DoDate(int date) { }

  • WPF binding behaviour different when bound property is declared as interface vs class type?

    - by Jay
    This started with weird behaviour that I thought was tied to my implementation of ToString(), and I asked this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2916068/why-wont-wpf-databindings-show-text-when-tostring-has-a-collaborating-object It turns out to have nothing to do with collaborators and is reproducible. When I bind Label.Content to a property of the DataContext that is declared as an interface type, ToString() is called on the runtime object and the label displays the result. When I bind TextBlock.Text to the same property, ToString() is never called and nothing is displayed. But, if I change the declared property to a concrete implementation of the interface, it works as expected. Is this somehow by design? If so, any idea why? To reproduce: Create a new WPF Application (.NET 3.5 SP1) Add the following classes: public interface IFoo { string foo_part1 { get; set; } string foo_part2 { get; set; } } public class Foo : IFoo { public string foo_part1 { get; set; } public string foo_part2 { get; set; } public override string ToString() { return foo_part1 + " - " + foo_part2; } } public class Bar { public IFoo foo { get { return new Foo {foo_part1 = "first", foo_part2 = "second"}; } } } Set the XAML of Window1 to: <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <StackPanel> <TextBlock Text="{Binding foo, Mode=Default}"/> </StackPanel> </Window> in Window1.xaml.cs: public partial class Window1 : Window { public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); DataContext = new Bar(); } } When you run this application, you'll see the text only once (at the top, in the label). If you change the type of foo property on Bar class to Foo (instead of IFoo) and run the application again, you'll see the text in both controls.

  • Using injected EntityManager in class hierarchies

    - by Emre Sahin
    The following code works: @Stateless @LocalBean public class MyClass { @PersistenceContext(name = "MyPU") EntityManager em; public void myBusinessMethod(MyEntity e) { em.persist(e); } } But the following hierarchy gives a TransactionRequiredException in Glassfish 3.0 (and standard JPA annotations with EclipseLink.) at the line of persist. @Stateless @LocalBean public class MyClass extends MyBaseClass { public void myBusinessMethod(MyEntity e) { super.update(e); } } public abstract class MyBaseClass { @PersistenceContext(name = "MyPU") EntityManager em; public void update(Object e) { em.persist(e); } } For my EJB's I collected common code in an abstract class for cleaner code. (update also saves who did the operation and when, all my entities implement an interface.) This problem is not fatal, I can simply copy update and sister methods to subclasses but I would like to keep all of them together in a single place. I didn't try but this may be because my base class is abstract, but I would like to learn a proper method for such a (IMHO common) use case.

  • How can I make the C# compiler infer these type parameters automatically?

    - by John Feminella
    I have some code that looks like the following. First I have some domain classes and some special comparators for them. public class Fruit { public int Calories { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } public class FruitEqualityComparer : IEqualityComparer<Fruit> { // ... } public class BasketEqualityComparer : IEqualityComparer<IEnumerable<Fruit>> { // ... } Next, I have a helper class called ConstraintChecker. It has a simple BaseEquals method that makes sure some simple base cases are considered: public static class ConstraintChecker { public static bool BaseEquals(T lhs, T rhs) { bool sameObject = l == r; bool leftNull = l == null; bool rightNull = r == null; return sameObject && !leftNull && !rightNull; } There's also a SemanticEquals method which is just a BaseEquals check and a comparator function that you specify. public static bool SemanticEquals<T>(T lhs, T rhs, Func<T, T, bool> f) { return BaseEquals(lhs, rhs) && f(lhs, rhs); } And finally there's a SemanticSequenceEquals method which accepts two IEnumerable<T> instances to compare, and an IEqualityComparer instance that will get called on each pair of elements in the list via Enumerable.SequenceEquals. public static bool SemanticSequenceEquals<T, U, V>(U lhs, U rhs, V comparator) where U : IEnumerable<T> where V : IEqualityComparer<T> { return SemanticEquals(lhs, rhs, (l, r) => lhs.SequenceEqual(rhs, comparator)); } } // end of ConstraintChecker The point of SemanticSequenceEquals is that you don't have to define two comparators whenever you want to compare both IEnumerable<T> and T instances; now you can just specify an IEqualityComparer<T> and it will also handle lists when you invoke SemanticSequenceEquals. So I could get rid of the BasketEqualityComparer class, which would be nice. But there's a problem. The C# compiler can't figure out the types involved when you invoke SemanticSequenceEquals: return ConstraintChecker.SemanticSequenceEquals(lhs, rhs, new FruitEqualityComparer()); If I specify them explicitly, it works: return ConstraintChecker.SemanticSequenceEquals< Fruit, IEnumerable<Fruit>, IEqualityComparer<Fruit> > (lhs, rhs, new FruitEqualityComparer()); What can I change here so that I don't have to write the type parameters explicitly?

  • How to make a thread that runs at x:00 x:15 x:30 and x:45 do something different at 2:00.

    - by rmarimon
    I have a timer thread that needs to run at a particular moments of the day to do an incremental replication with a database. Right now it runs at the hour, 15 minutes past the hour, 30 minutes past the hour and 45 minutes past the hour. This is the code I have which is working ok: public class TimerRunner implements Runnable { private static final Semaphore lock = new Semaphore(1); private static final ScheduledExecutorService executor = Executors.newSingleThreadScheduledExecutor(); public static void initialize() { long delay = getDelay(); executor.schedule(new TimerRunner(), delay, TimeUnit.SECONDS); } public static void destroy() { executor.shutdownNow(); } private static long getDelay() { Calendar now = Calendar.getInstance(); long p = 15 * 60; // run at 00, 15, 30 and 45 minutes past the hour long second = now.get(Calendar.MINUTE) * 60 + now.get(Calendar.SECOND); return p - (second % p); } public static void replicate() { if (lock.tryAcquire()) { try { Thread t = new Thread(new Runnable() { public void run() { try { // here is where the magic happens } finally { lock.release(); } } }); t.start(); } catch (Exception e) { lock.release(); } } else { throw new IllegalStateException("already running a replicator"); } } public void run() { try { TimerRunner.replicate(); } finally { long delay = getDelay(); executor.schedule(new TimerRunner(), delay, TimeUnit.SECONDS); } } } This process is started by calling TimerRunner.initialize() when a server starts and calling TimerRunner.destroy(). I have created a full replication process (as opposed to incremental) that I would like to run at a certain moment of the day, say 2:00am. How would change the above code to do this? I think that it should be very simple something like if it is now around 2:00am and it's been a long time since I did the full replication then do it now, but I can't get the if right. Beware that sometimes the replicate process takes way longer to complete. Sometimes beyond the 15 minutes, posing a problem in running at around 2:00am.

  • About AMR audio file playing issue on different devices

    - by user352537
    I have got a quite strange problem here. I am developing an IM software and need to play audio files recorded by another client on Android. The same audio file I've got can be played with AVAudioPlayer on 3GS(IOS 4.2.1) device and simulator 4.2. But when I tried by play it on iPhone4(iOS 4.3.3), the function "play" always return NO. I also tried with two iPhone devices, the audio files recorded by iPhone client can be played on both 3GS and iPhone4. So I asked the Android developers about the record parameters they've used. They said that the "AudioEncoder" used by them was "DEFAULT". There are also some other parameters as following: **private AudioEncoder() {} public static final int DEFAULT = 0; /** AMR (Narrowband) audio codec */ public static final int AMR_NB = 1; /** @hide AMR (Wideband) audio codec */ public static final int AMR_WB = 2; /** @hide AAC audio codec */ public static final int AAC = 3; /** @hide enhanced AAC audio codec */ public static final int AAC_PLUS = 4; /** @hide enhanced AAC plus audio codec */ public static final int EAAC_PLUS = 5;** Does anybody know what's the matter?

  • ASP.NET MVC grid/table

I'm trying to generate the following table:

First 1

Last 1

1

First 1

Last 1

1

First 2

Last 2

2

... ...
Each person is a row and each of their children would be individual rows under the person row. This would repeat for each person in IEnumerable<Person>. Are there any grids or components that generate a table like this? I found MvcContrib's grid component, but it doesn't appear to be able to generate these child rows. Is there a way to extend MvcContrib's grid to do this?

  • Is AutoMapper able to auto resolve types base on existing maps

    - by Chi Chan
    I have the following code: [SetUp] public void SetMeUp() { Mapper.CreateMap<SourceObject, DestinationObject>(); } [Test] public void Testing() { var source = new SourceObject {Id = 123}; var destination1 = Mapper.Map<SourceObject, DestinationObject>(source); var destination2 = Mapper.Map<ObjectBase, ObjectBase>(source); //Works Assert.That(destination1.Id == source.Id); //Fails, gives the same object back Assert.That(destination2 is DestinationObject); } public class ObjectBase { public int Id { get; set; } } public class SourceObject : ObjectBase { } public class DestinationObject : ObjectBase { } So basically, I want AutoMapper to automatically resolve the destination type to "DestinationObject" based on the existing Maps set up in AutoMapper. Is there a way to achieve this?

  • Help required in adding new methods, properties into existing classes dynamically

    - by Bepenfriends
    Hi All, I am not sure whether it is possible to achieve this kind of implementation in Dot Net. Below are the information Currently we are on an application which is done in COM+, ASP, XSL, XML technologies. It is a multi tier architecture application in which COM+ acts as the BAL. The execution steps for any CRUD operation will be defined using a seperate UI which uses XML to store the information. BAL reads the XML and understands the execution steps which are defined and executes corresponding methods in DLL. Much like EDM we have our custom model (using XML) which determines which property of object is searchable, retrievable etc. Based on this information BAL constructs queries and calls procedures to get the data. In the current application both BAL and DAL are heavily customizable without doing any code change. the results will be transmitted to presentation layer in XML format which constructs the UI based on the data recieved. Now I am creating a migration project which deals with employee information. It is also going to follow the N Tier architecture in which the presentation layer communicates with BAL which connects to DAL to return the Data. Here is the problem, In our existing version we are handling every information as XML in its native form (no converstion of object etc), but in the migration project, Team is really interested in utilizing the OOP model of development where every information which is sent from BAL need to be converted to objects of its respective types (example employeeCollection, Address Collection etc). If we have the static number of data returned from BAL we can have a class which contains those nodes as properties and we can access the same. But in our case the data returned from our BAL need to be customized. How can we handle the customization in presentation layer which is converting the result to an Object. Below is an example of the XML returned <employees> <employee> <firstName>Employee 1 First Name</firstName> <lastName>Employee 1 Last Name</lastName> <addresses>
<addressType>1</addressType> <StreetName>Street name1</StreetName> <RegionName>Region name</RegionName>

<addressType>2</addressType> <StreetName>Street name2</StreetName> <RegionName>Region name</RegionName>

<addressType>3</addressType> <StreetName>Street name3</StreetName> <RegionName>Region name</RegionName>
<addresses> </employee> <employee> <firstName>Employee 2 First Name</firstName> <lastName>Employee 2 Last Name</lastName> <addresses>
<addressType>1</addressType> <StreetName>Street name1</StreetName> <RegionName>Region name</RegionName>

<addressType>2</addressType> <StreetName>Street name2</StreetName> <RegionName>Region name</RegionName>
<addresses> </employee> </employees> If these are the only columns then i can write a class which is like public class Address{ public int AddressType {get;set;}; public string StreetName {get;set;}; public string RegionName {get;set;}; } public class Employee{ public string FirstName {get; set;} public string LastName {get; set;} public string AddressCollection {get; set;} } public class EmployeeCollection : List<Employee>{ public bool Add (Employee Data){ .... } } public class AddressCollection : List
{ public bool Add (Address Data){ .... } } This class will be provided to customers and consultants as DLLs. We will not provide the source code for the same. Now when the consultants or customers does customization(example adding country to address and adding passport information object with employee object) they must be able to access those properties in these classes, but without source code they will not be able to do those modifications.which makes the application useless. Is there is any way to acomplish this in DotNet. I thought of using Anonymous classes but, the problem with Anonymous classes are we can not have methods in it. I am not sure how can i fit the collection objects (which will be inturn an anonymous class) Not sure about datagrid / user control binding etc. I also thought of using CODEDom to create classes runtime but not sure about the meory, performance issues. also the classes must be created only once and must use the same till there is another change. Kindly help me out in this problem. Any kind of help meterial/ cryptic code/ links will be helpful.
