  • Returning more than 1000 rows in classic asp adodb.recordset

    My code in asp classic, doing a mssql database query: rs.pagesize = 1000 ' this should enable paging rs.maxrecords = 0 ' 0 = unlimited maxrecords response.write "hello world 1<br>" rs.open strSql, conn response.write "hello world 2<br>" My output when there are fewer than 1000 rows returned is good. More than 1000 rows and I don't get the "hello world 2". I thought that setting pagesize sets up paging and thus allows all rows to be returned regardless of how many rows there are. Without setting pagesize, paging is not enable and the limit is 1000 rows. However my page is acting as if pagesize is not working at all. Please advise.

    when I use fopen function , why don't I use r+ always , even when I'm not going to write any thing ... is there a reason for separating writing/reading process from only reading .. like , the file is locked for reading when I use r+ , because i might write new data into it or something ... another question : in php manual a+ : Open for reading and writing; place the file pointer at the end of the file. If the file does not exist, attempt to create it. What is supposed to be read if you are at the end of the file ..(pointer at the end) !!? where to learn more about the filesystem thing .... it's confusing

  • What is the best way to connect to an Oracle database to build my own IDE? [closed]

    before answer me plz thinking about the futures of these kind of program and answer me plz. I wanna get some data from oracle server like: 1-get all the function,package,procedure and etc for showing them or drop them & etc... 2-compile my *.sql files,get the result if they have problem & etc... becuz I was beginner in oracle first of all I for solve the second problem I try to connect to sqlPlus by RUN sqlplus and trace the output(I mean,I change the output stream of shell and trace what happend and handle the assigned message to customer. NOW THIS PART SUCCEED. just a little bit I have problem with get all result because the output is asynchronous.any way... [in this case I log in to oracle Server by send argument to the sqlplus by make a process in c#] after that I try to get all function,package or procedure name,but I have problem in speed!so I try to use oracle.DataAccess.dll to connect the database. now I m so confusing about: which way is correct way to build a program that work like Oracle Developer! I do not have any experience for like these program how work. If Your answer is I must use the second way follow this part plz: I search a little bit the Golden,PLedit (Benthic software),I have little bit problem how I must create the connection string?because I thinking about how I can find the host name or port number that oracle work on them?? am I need read the TNSNames.Ora file? IF your answer is I must use the first way follow this part plz: do u have any Idea for how I parse the output?because for example the result of a table is so confusing...[i can handle & program it but I really need someone experience,because the important things to me learn how such software work so nice and with quick response?] All of the has different style in output...   • Powershell - remote folder availability while counting files

    I´m trying to make a Powershell script that reports if there´s a file older than x minutes on remote folder. I make this: $strfolder = 'folder1 ..................' $pocet = (Get-ChildItem \\server1\edi1\folder1\*.* ) | where-object {($_.LastWriteTime -lt (Get-Date).AddDays(-0).AddHours(-0).AddMinutes(-20))} | Measure-Object if($pocet.count -eq 0){Write-Host $strfolder "OK" -foreground Green} else {Write-Host $strfolder "ERROR" -foreground Red} But there´s one huge problem. The folder is often unavailable for me bacause of the high load and I found out when there is no connection it doesn´t report an error but continues with zero in $pocet.count. It means it reports everything is ok when the folder is unavailable. I was thinking about using if(Test-Path..) but what about it became unavailable just after passing Test-Path? Does anyone has a solution please? Thank you in advance

    I am contemplating writing my first blackberry app. I am fundamentally, a C/C++ programmer (not Java), can anyone provide some guidelines on the quickest route (i.e. shallowest learning curve) to writing a blackberry app? Any resources/links would be useful. As an aside: In an ideal world, I would like to write once and deploy for both Blackberry and the iPhone, but since I am targetting largely business people, I guess blackberry should be my target - right? Is it possible to write once and deploy on BOTH iphone and BB?

    Hi, let's say I have this set of HTML-markup and CSS #CSS .inputhelp_text { background: #000; color: #fff; } .nodisplay { display: none; } <input class="inputhelp" id="firstname" /><span class="inputhelp_text nodisplay" id="help_firstname">Write in your firstname</span> <input class="inputhelp" id="lastname" /><span class="inputhelp_text nodisplay" id="help_lastname">Write in your lastname</span> Using jQuery, I need to bind a function to all input fields (I guess using jQuery's EACH function) so that when I click the input field, it should switch the class of each span to only "inputhelp_text". I've gotten this to work in two separate functions for each field, but since I have alot of fields, I know there's a better way to solve it. Any suggestions?

  • Is there a way to force JUnit to fail on ANY unchecked exception, even if swallowed

    I am using JUnit to write some higher level tests for legacy code that does not have unit tests. Much of this code "swallows" a variety of unchecked exceptions like NullPointerExceptions (e.g., by just printing stack trace and returning null). Therefore the unit test can pass even through there is a cascade of disasters at various points in the lower level code. Is there any way to have a test fail on the first unchecked exception even if they are swallowed? The only alternative I can think of is to write a custom JUnit wrapper that redirects System.err and then analyzes the output for exceptions.

    Hi guys, i have a problem with cross-domain cookies. I read a lot of documentation about sharing cookies between subdomains. The main idea of all articles is set Domain property to something like ".mydomain.com". I've created two domains on local IIS server - test1.local.boo and test2.local.boo. They works great and visible with browser. I have the following code: Site test1 - Writes cookie: HttpCookie myCookie = new HttpCookie("TestCookie"); myCookie.Domain = ".local.boo"; myCookie["msg"] = "Welcome from Cookie"; Response.Cookies.Add(myCookie); Site test2 - Reads cookie: HttpCookie cookie = Request.Cookies["TestCookie"]; if (cookie != null) { Response.Write(cookie["msg"]); } else { Response.Write("FAILED"); } This code always shows FAILED message. So it means that second site can't read cookie from the same subdomain. Where is my mistake??

  • Compiling error with API 10

    I was following the basic tutorials on developers.android.com and came by creating the activity named DisplayMessageActivity. It is a blank activity with all the specifications given as shown in the tutorial. FYI, I am using Min SDK = API 8, Target SDK = API 16, Compile with = API 10 The next thing is that there are two errors: "The method getActionBar() is undefined for the type DisplayMessageActivity "home cannot be resolved or is not a field" I tried changing the API to 14 which called for another problem, it wants the minimum API to be 11. That solves these problems, but the main problem is so many devices still use Gingerbread or maybe FroYo. Can't I write for them? Do I have to go higher? How to write for them?

    I've been toying with an interesting idea (No idea if I'll include it in any code, but it's fun to think about) Let's say we have a program that requires a large number of classes, all of a certain subclass. And those classes all need to be singletons. Now, we could write the singleton pattern for each of those classes, but it seems wasteful to write the same code over and over, and we already have a common base class. It would be really nice to create a getSingleton method of A that when called from a subclass, returns a singleton of the B class (cast to class A for simplicity) class A{ public A getSingleton(){ //Wizardry } } class B extends A{ } A blargh = B.getSingleton() A gish = B.getSingleton() if(A == B) System.out.println("It works!") It seems to me that the way to do this would be to recognize and call B's default constructor (assuming we don't need to pass anything in.) I know a little of the black magic of reflection in Java, but i'm not sure if this can be done. Anyone interested in puzzling over this?

  • Regex for zeroing in on build output text error

    I'd like to quickly hone in on what failed in a build log output that is nearly 5k lines long, using Notepad++ as my editor for the file. Notepad++ has the nice ability to specify regular expressions, so I am wondering if there is a way to not match: Compile complete -- 0 errors, 0 warnings but to match, for example: Compile complete -- 1 errors, 0 warnings Compile complete -- 100 errors, 0 warnings where the match would be (1 or more) errors. If this isn't possible, I will probably just write a quick line-by-line parsing tool instead, but I was hoping someone on StackOverflow could whip out a regular expression in the same amount of time - I'm definitely not proficient enough with regular expressions to be able to write one for my needs in a short amount of time.

    Hello, I am working in Visual Studio 2005, .NET 2.0. I need to write an application, which listens on COM port and saves incoming data to a database. Main feature: save incoming data (series of 13-digits numbers), if this number allready exists, then mark it as double. For example, there could be these records in database: 0000000000001 OK 0000000000002 OK 0000000000002 Double 0000000000003 OK 0000000000004 OK I could use SQL database, but I don't know if it is fast enough... Database should be able to store up to 10.000.000 records and write up to 100 records per minute (so it needs to check 100 times per minute if this record allready exists). Which database should I use? Maybe the whole database would need to be in RAM. Where could I learn more about this? Thanks

  • How can I locally debug file permission issues in Visual Studio?

    I want to debug an ASP.Net website as it attempts to write a file to a directory. When actually deployed this file would possibly not be writeable by the worker process so an error would be thrown, this is not a problem as I just want to catch the error, inform the user and move on. Of course, if I'm debugging on my local machine then I'm an administrator and I have permission to write to the file, so I can't check that I've trapped the correct errors and I can't step through an see where it goes wrong if I haven't. Is there a standard approach to this sort of thing?

  • Writing string, numeric data to Excel via C# works, but Excel does not treat numeric data correctly

    Hi, I'm getting result sets from Sybase that I return to a C# client. I use the below function to write the result set data to Excel: ***private static void WriteData(Excel.Worksheet worksheet, string cellRef, ref string[,] data) { Excel.Range range = worksheet.get_Range(cellRef, Missing.Value); if (data.GetLength(0) != 0) { range = range.get_Resize(data.GetLength(0), data.GetLength(1)); range.set_Value(Missing.Value, data); } }* The data gets written correctly. The issue is that since I'm using string array to write data (which is a mixture of strings and floats), Excel highlights every cell that contains numeric data with the message "Number Stored as Text".
