  I have developed a python C-extension that receives data from python and compute some cpu intensive calculations. It's possible to profile the C-extension? The problem here is that writing a sample test in C to be profiled would be challenging because the code rely on particular inputs and data structures (generated by python control code).   When writing up a codebehind in Visual Studio for ASP.NET web forms applications, I often use the dropdowns at the top of the window to autogenerate page event handlers (e.g. Page_Load, Page_PreRender). I've noticed that sometimes Visual Studio likes to add numbers to these function names like "Page_Load1" or "Page_PreRender2". Programatically speaking, this has no effect on the code. But stylistically, I find it a bit ugly. Is there any way to get rid of this behavior?

  I'd like to have a macro in Visual Studio 2005 that calls a DOS command and redirects the output (stdout and stderr) to a file. Just calling the command and "" redirecting it will not capture stderr, so there are two parts to this: calling a DOS command capturing both stderr and stdout to a file during that call I'd then like to open this file in Visual Studio after the command completes. I should mention that the first two lines in the .csv file contain header information and the following lines are the actual comma-delimited data.
