  • combining results of two select statements

    - by ErnieStings
I'm using T-SQL with ASP.NET, and c# and i'm pretty new to SQL. I was wondering how i could combine the results of two queries Query1: SELECT tableA.Id, tableA.Name, [tableB].Username AS Owner, [tableB].ImageUrl, [tableB].CompanyImageUrl, COUNT(tableD.UserId) AS NumberOfUsers FROM tableD RIGHT OUTER JOIN [tableB] INNER JOIN tableA ON [tableB].Id = tableA.Owner ON tableD.tableAId = tableA.Id GROUP BY tableA.Name, [tableB].Username, [tableB].ImageUrl, [tableB].CompanyImageUrl Query2: SELECT tableA.Id, tableA.Name, COUNT([tableC].Id) AS NumberOfPlans FROM [tableC] RIGHT OUTER JOIN tableA ON [tableC].tableAId = tableA.Id GROUP BY tableA.Id, tableA.Name Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

  • Finding where varables have been declared in what file?

    - by robUK
Hello, GNU Emacs 23.1.1 I am maintaining someones code. There are many files and directories for the headers and source files. I am wondering if there is a easy way to use emacs that when I highlight a variable name I can go straight to where it is declared? Some of the structures I am working in are declared in other header files, rather than go searching for them, I just want to be taken straight to them. Many thanks for any suggestions,

  • Worst aspect of Python for a newbie

    - by schickb
I'm wondering specifically what experienced programmers thought when they started developing in Python. I'm sure the answer depends on your background, but my own personal answer is the conversion of basically anything in the language to a True/False value in boolean contexts. Resulting in "oddities" like: if x: not meaning the same thing as: if x == True: I understand why, but it bugs me, and I certainly had to think about it a bit when I first ran into it.

  • Add 30 seconds to the time with PHP

    - by Sam
Hey all, just wondering how I can add 30 seconds on to this? $time = date("m/d/Y h:i:s a", time()); Thankyou, again. I wasn't sure how to do it because it is showing lots of different units of time, when I only want to add 30 seconds.

  • should I put the jar dependancies on the sahred repo or just the source files ?

    - by ashy_32bit
We have a Scala project with few source files (in Scala and Java) and quite some dependencies in various binary formats (jar and DLL). I'm wondering what should go into our shared git repo. Only the source files (developers have to download or somehow resolve the dependencies themselves) or the both the source files and the dependencies? I may add that dependencies are all third parties and available for download for free.

  • Recursively getting files in a directory with several sub-directories

    - by yeahumok
Hello! I was wondering if anybody here could help me out as I'm still very new to C#. I have a drive with folders w/in folders w/in folders that all contain files. Is there a way to recursively loop through the files and gather up all of these file names into a .txt file? I'm not sure how to implement this into my Console app--so does anybody have any code that might help?

  • Bind Java program to Cocoa interface

    - by Kevin
Hi, would it be possible to bind a Java application to a Cocoa graphical interface? I'm working in Eclipse right now, on my mac, and am wondering if Interface Builder could be used to construct a new interface so that I don't have to look at Swing all day. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!

  • PHP see POST/GET values made to script dynamically

    - by minimalpop
Hi, I've been testing a PHP script that I'm posting values to every few seconds (latitude and longitude to be specific) and am wondering if there's an easier way to see what values are being sent to the script. Right now I'm writing the data to a txt file on my server, and refreshing the page every so often to see what values have been posted recently. Is there a way to just see what's going on behind the scenes (in terminal, perhaps)? Thanks.

  • Graphical patch utility

    - by Demiurg
I have a kernel patch for a slightly different kernel version then the one I'm trying to patch. Needless to say, the patch partially fails. I can certainly fix it manually, but I was wondering maybe there is a graphical patch utility that can be used to resolve the conflicts.

  • What's the best editor/program for g++ in Linux?

    - by Phenom
So far I've been using vi, but I'm wondering if there's something better to use in Linux. In Windows there's Visual C++, and I guess practically all C++ programmers in Windows use this these days. It has a lot of things in it to help the programmer. What about for Linux?

  • Export to Excel in Asp.net MVC

    - by BigJoe714
I am working on an ASP.NET MVC application where I need to export data to an excel spreadsheet. Previously, in webforms apps, I used some code I found to render a GridView as an excel-compatible file. This was quite handy. I was wondering what the quickest/most effective method would be to do this in MVC. Thanks.

  • Android: Sorting a merged cursor

    - by tonyc
Hi, I'm wondering if there's any way to merge two cursors together and then resort them. I can easily merge two cursors together by using a MergedCursor, but that doesn't sort them. I have two sets of contacts in two separate cursors (with totally different schemas) and I want to merge them and sort them by name (the name column is different in the two cursors). Is this possible? Thanks, Tony

  • How to dispose BackgroundWorkers the right way

    - by radbyx
I've got a Windows Service that runs BackgroundWorker's, and I'm wondering if I'm doing the right thing when I stop my Windows Service. Is it enough to: Let the BackgroundWorker1_DoWork method complete (I have a while loop in it now, doing some tasks) Set the variable that holds the reference to the BackgroundWorker, to null Is there some kind of Dispose() method I need to call (In the same way the Timer class has Timer.Dispose();)?

  • How can I get the correct headers automatically given a filetype in PHP?

    - by incrediman
A few times I've run into situations where I'd like to be able to include a file using PHP, and depending on the included filetype, output the appropriate headers. In the past I've just done this manually by switch/casing the extension type with the appropriate content-type headers. However what I'm wondering now is if there's a function like get_header($filename) or maybe get_contenttype($extension) For example if I wanted to route all requests for media through a php file, I could use that function to output the correct headers.
