• Facebook friends.getLists failing

  Hi all, I'm trying a simple request on Facebook to return all my friend lists. I'm trying this in Facebook's test console, as well as through an iPhone app i'm working on. friends.getLists (also alternatively through FQL) SELECT flid, name FROM friendlist WHERE owner=4810796 I am currently logged in, so using that number should be valid. Both are returning an empty list (not erroring out), but I am certain that I have a few friend lists set up. I've also tried using this with a test account I set up, but got the same results. I could have sworn this command was working earlier. Can anyone please either verify or reject that this is happening for them? Thanks.

• SocketException preventing use of C# TCPListener in Windows Service

  I have a Windows Service that does the following when started. When running via a Console application it works fine, but once I put in a Windows Service I get the below exception. Here is what I have tried so far: Disabled the firewall, also tried adding explicit exclusions for the exe, port, and protocol Checked CAS Policy Config, shows unrestricted rights Configured the Service to run as an Administrator Account, Local System, Local Service, and Network Service, each with the same result Tried different ports Also tried 127.0.0.1 just to see... same issue This is wrecking my head, so any help would be greatly appreciated: The Code: var _listener = new TcpListener(endpoint); //192.168.2.2:20000 _listener.Start(); The resulting Exception: Service cannot be started. • Issit possible to load a UIVIewcontroller from uiview of another UIViewController

  Guys, need your advise here. I have: an UIViewController A UIView B: I added subview which is a UIView to the UIViewController A an UIViewController C What I did is: in UIViewController A's viewDidLoad's method, I call this: UIView *subviewB = [[Subview alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 768)]; [subviewB subviewBMethod]; // [self.view addSubview:rsubviewB]; SubviewBMethod code is to create an view, inside this view have a button. Once this button is clicked, it will change to UIViewController C. I tried this: [self presentModalViewController:self.UIViewControllerC animated:YES]; And I got this error message: warning: incompatible Objective-C types 'struct UIViewControllerC *', expected 'struct UIViewController *' when passing argument 1 of 'presentModalViewController:animated:' from distinct Objective-C type When I run the app, it terminates immediately when I click the button, I opened the console bug, there is no any error message. • HtmlAgilityPack SelectNodes expression to ignore an element with a certain attribute

  I am trying to select nodes except from script nodes and a ul that has a class called 'relativeNav'. Can someone please direct me to the right path? I have been searching for this for a week and I can't find it anywhere. Currently I have this but it obviously selecting the //ul[@class='relativeNav'] as well. • Skype Raw API (NOT COM API) send message problem

  In converting this CONSOLE example to a full windows dialog implementation I have run into a very "simple problem". The handle I use is the wParam value from the Skype Reply message, as in the code. This is non zero, but I am not sure if there is a way to test it other than with SendMessage. The compiled app from this C++ code example (see zip download) does actually work so I am stumped. I do encode the message with UTF8, and I create an instance of the COPYDATASTRUCT in my app, populate it then call SendMessage() with the COPYDATASTRUCT pointer in lparam. Skype does not respond nor does it obey. Am I missing something obvious here?

• Ruby Iconv works with irb and ruby debugger but not in a unit test

  I'm running Ruby 1.8.7 with Rails 2.3.5 on Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit. I've written a method that should take a string like this, "École À la Découverte" and output a file-system name like this "ecole_a_la_decouverte": (Iconv.new('US-ASCII//TRANSLIT', 'utf-8').iconv "École À la Découverte").gsub(/[^\w\s-\—]/,'').gsub(/[^\w]|[_]/,' ').split.join('_').downcase When I test this line in my code, the test always fails saying that "cole_la_dcouverte" is unequal to "ecole_a_la_decouverte". The odd thing is that if I insert a debugger line and use the debugger console the test passes. As well, running this line manually in irb seems to work. Does anyone know what's going on and why this test is failing? My only thought is that including the debugger or irb somehow adds more support for UTF-8 but I'm at a loss to figure out where to go next. Thanks in advance!

  I wonder if someone could help me setup a number of NSLog statements so they print to console when executing in "Debug Mode" but don't print in "Release Mode". I understand I need to add something like DEBUG = 1 to the debug config in Xcode but I can't find where. Also how do I utilise this in my code? • .Net MEF newbie question

  I am missing something basic when it comes to using MEF. I got it working using samples and a simple console app where everything is in the same assembly. Then I put some imports and exports in a separate project which contains various entities. I want to use these entities in an MS Test, but the composition is never actually done. When I move the composition stuff into the constructor of an entity in question it works, but that's obviously wrong. Does GetExecutingAssembly only "see" the test process? What am I missing re containers? I tried putting the container in a Using in the test without luck. The MEF docs are still very scant and I can't find a simple example of an application (or MS Test) which uses entities from a different project...

• C# UTF8 output keep encoded characters intact

  Hello, i have a very simple question I can't seem to get my head around. I have a properly encoded UTF8-String I parse into a JObject with Json.NET, fiddle around with some values and write it to the commandline, keeping the encoded characters intact. Everything works great except for the keeping the encoded characters intact part. • Tutorials for .NET database app using SQLite

  I have some MS Access experience, and had a class on console c++ apps, now I am trying to develop my first program. It's a little C# db app. I have the db tables and columns planned and keyed into VS, but that's where I'm stuck. I'm needing C#/VS tutorials that will guide me on configuring relationships, datatyping, etc, on the db so I can get it ready for testing of the schema. The only tutorials I've been able to find either talk about general db basics (ie, not helping me with VS/C#), or about C# communications with an existing SQL db. Thank you. (In case it matters, I'm using the open source System.Data.SQLite (sqlite.phxsoftware.com) for the db. I chose it over SQL Server CE after seeing a comparison between the two. Also I wanted a server-less version of SQL because this little app will be on other people's computers and I want to to do as little support as possible.)

  Hi everybody! I'm currently working with the vmrun-Tool, to control VMWare Virtual Machines. I'm using VMWareWorkstation 7.0.0/7.0.1 and VMWarePlayer 3.0.0 on Windows 7 x64. I simply want to take a screenshot of each virtual machine which is powered on. Listing the power-on virtual machines is quite simply and works! (vmrun list) But the captureScreen command doesn't work. I have tryed serveral commandline options. for example: vmrun -T ws captureScreen %VMPATH% %OUTPUTPATH% I get no error message, but the console is blocked (and the command never finishes). I have also tryed to include -gu USERNAME and -gp PASSWORD, but it result in the same problem. Sorry for my English and thanks for your help in advance!!!

• Why is AudioOutputUnitStart freezing my app in iOS 4?

  Hi guys, I have an audio app which uses the RemoteIO AudioUnit. It works fine on iPhone, iPad, and any flavor of the simulator on 3.2, but when it hits AudioOutputUnitStart (), it freezes. I get the message "AddRunningClient starting device on non-zero client count" in the console, which I'm not sure how to resolve. I stop the unit and dispose of the AudioComponent every time the app closes. The app works fine the first time I run after restarting everything, but freezes every time after that. What's strange is there are no error messages - just an unresponsive interface and a frozen line of code. Thanks for your help. Luke
