• Facebook Graph API: Feed publishing showing up as link type instead of status?

  So I'm publishing to a Facebook Group's Feed in my app, using the Graph API. It works fine, except facebook keeps treating the published info as a 'link' feed item type instead of 'status' like it does when I enter the same from facebook's site. eg: string url = "https://graph.facebook.com/<id-of-group/feed?access_token=<access-token>"; string data = "message=hello"; webClient.UploadString(url, "POST", data); Now when I pull the feed items, the json that is returned has "item":"link", with "link":"http://www.facebook.com", whereas I'd expect it to be "item":"status" and no or an empty "link" property. Any ideas?

I need to find just website in some text and I'm looking for a regular expression able to find out strings like: www.my.home, http://my.site.it But this regular expression should not find strings like: [email protected] or if the website is already inside html tag <a href="http://www.my.site.com/"><span style="font-style: normal;">www.mambo-test.org</span></a> I tried with this one: \b((https?://[^ ])|(www.[^ ])) but it also finds the website in the href and between the tag: <a href="http://www.my.site.com/"><span style="font-style: normal;">www.mambo-test.org</span></a> and I don't know how except this case.

• UITabBarController with viewControllers utilizing different orientations?

  Hi I can see that this is something that has been troubling a lot of people:/ I have a UITabBarController that has 4 viewControllers, all of type UINavigationController. One of the navigationControllers gets a viewController pushed onto its stack, this viewController should be presented in landscape mode/orientation. The viewController is a graph, it is the absolutely only place in the app where landscape makes sense. (I hide the UITabBar when this is presented to not lead the user to believe this will work everywhere) To make a UITabBarController respond correctly to changes in orientation all its viewControllers need to return the same value from the delegate method: - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation So to accomodate this behavior I have implemented this method in all the viewControllers belonging to the UITabBarController: - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; BOOL canRotate = [defaults boolForKey:@"can_rotate"]; return canRotate; } The "trick" is now that when my can-be-landscape viewController is pushed I do this: - (void) viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [defaults setBool:YES forKey:@"can_rotate"]; [defaults synchronize]; } and when it is popped, I do this: - (void) viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [defaults setBool:NO forKey:@"can_rotate"]; [defaults synchronize]; } This works really well. When the viewController is on the stack I can rotate the device and the view follows. The problem is however, that if the user taps the "back" button on the navigationBar while in landscape mode, thus popping the viewController to the previous viewController, this "old" viewController is of course also in landscape mode. To make things worse, because I set the BOOL to NO, this "old" viewController can not rotate back when I orientate the device to portrait mode. Is there a way to update everything so that none of my other viewControllers will be in landscape mode when I pop the can-be-in-landscape mode viewController? I am a bit worried that if this could be done from landscape to portrait it should also be possible from portrait to landscape, thus making my "hack" unnecessary.. but if it can not, then I am back to square one :/ Hope I am close and that someone could help me get there, thanks:)

  I am trying to parse an input stream where the first line tells me how many lines of data there are. I'm ending up with the following code, and it works, but I think there is a better way. • Content Management Systems for Adaptive Content [closed]

  Content management systems (CMS) allow us to easily maintain blogs, news sites, general websites, and so on. Many of them are designed to manage pages of content, and provide tools to organize and customize how that content is displayed on the web. However, as explained by Mark Boulton in his Adaptive Content Management article, and by Karen McGrane in her talk on Adapting Ourselves to Adaptive Content, we are increasingly delivering content not just to the web, but also to other platforms and channels. We need tools to manage pieces of content with meaningful metadata attached. Create once, publish everywhere. The main idea is to store content cleanly, without intertwining it with presentation markup specific to the web. Because pieces of content is compartmentalized semantically, it can easily adapt to fit in different platforms and channels. Hence, it's called adaptive content. Let's look at a quick example to compare: Say I manage news articles and events. To create a news article, I would tell the CMS the type of content I'm creating, and be asked to fill in a form with individual fields tailored to news articles (e.g. headline, subtitle, full text, short snippet, and images). — i.e. pieces of content With a traditional web publishing tool, I would probably have had to create a new page under News, and then type in and format the news article in a blank WYSIWYG text editor. — i.e. pages of content As you can see, the first design allows me to individually specify content in its smallest semantic unit. When I want to display or consume it, the system can easily provide the pieces I need. So here's my question: Is there a CMS that is designed specifically with adaptive content in mind, and that is decoupled with the presentation layer? Note: This is not a discussion about the best CMS, or which CMS I should use. I am asking whether a very specific type of tool — CMS designed for adaptive content — exists for developers to use.

• SA_OAuthTwitterEngine and MGTwitterEngine retweet doesn't works

  I'm developing an iOS app with Twitter features. To do that I'm using SA_OAuthTwitterEngine and MGTwitterEngine wrappers. I've followed this post. I'm trying to retweet a tweet from the followed user timeline. This is what I send/receive: 2012-04-12 18:34:00.291 Project[13605:207] INFO -> Twitter URL: https://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/retweet/190459190869753856.xml 2012-04-12 18:34:00.292 Project[13605:207] INFO -> retweet response: 0AFF2EF9-6BCC-4B1E-B65A-02BD24A38C18 Here I pass to the API the id field of the selected tweet which I want to retweet. But after execute the method, the retweeted doesn't appears in the user timeline, where I'm getting the user tweets and tweets retweeted by user. What I'm loosing here? According with this the request to the Twitter API is ok. And I've checked the app permissions setted in twitter and have all: read/write and direct messages. Thanks.

• Playing video and audio in iPhone not working...

  So we have buttons linked up to display images/videos/audio on click depending on a check we do earlier. That part works fine. It knows which one to play, however, when we click the buttons for video and audio, nothing happens. The image one works fine. The video and audio are being taken for a URL online, they are not local, but everywhere said this was still possible.   Good afternoon, I'm learning about using RegEx's in Ruby, and have hit a point where I need some assistance. I am trying to extract 0 to many URLs from a string. This is the code I'm using: sStrings = ["hello world: http://www.google.com", "There is only one url in this string http://yahoo.com . • Case class copy() method abstraction.

  I would like to know if it is possible to abstract the copy method of case classes. Basically I have something like sealed trait Op and then something like case class Push(value: Int) extends Op and case class Pop() extends Op. The first problem: A case class without arguments/members does not define a copy method. You can try this in the REPL. scala> case class Foo() defined class Foo scala> Foo().copy() <console>:8: error: value copy is not a member of Foo Foo().copy() ^ scala> case class Foo(x: Int) defined class Foo scala> Foo(0).copy() res1: Foo = Foo(0) Is there a reason why the compiler makes this exception? I think it is rather unituitive and I would expect every case class to define a copy method. The second problem: I have a method def ops: List[Op] and I would like to copy all ops like ops map { _.copy() }. How would I define the copy method in the Op trait? I get a "too many arguments" error if I say def copy(): this.type. However, since all copy() methods have only optional arguments: why is this incorrect? And, how do I do that correct? By making another method named def clone(): this.type and write everywhere def clone() = copy() for all the case classes? I hope not.

  hey guys, this might seem like a no brainer but hopefully after i explain my problem you might understand why i am asking this. is it possible to have a method which creates a method and its arguements? the problem: in my current project i have to many times call different sql statements which arent all that different. for example i have one where i inserts some new rows but only has 2 columns and another which also inserts new rows but has 12 columns. i have created a class called utils.cs and in there i have sorted many "handy" methods, such as validation methods which check for numeric input to text boxes etc. so i thought well instead of having sql writing methods everywhere ill make one in there and call it when i need to so i have but it currently looks like this: public static string getInsertSQL(string tablename, string colOne, string colTwo, string colThree, string colFour, string colFive, string colSix, string colSeven, string colEight, string colNine, string colTen, string colEleven, string colTwelve,bool active, string valueOne, string valueTwo, string valueThree, string valueFour, string valueFive, string valueSix, string valueSeven, string valueEight, string valueNine, string valueTen, string valueEleven) { string strSQL = ""; strSQL += "INSERT INTO " + tablename; strSQL += "(" + colOne + " " + colTwo + " " + colThree + " " + colFour + " " + colFive + " " + colSix + " " + colSeven + " " + colEight + " " + colNine + " " + colTen + " " + colEleven + " " + colTwelve + " )"; strSQL += " values ("+active+", " + valueOne + " " + valueTwo + " " + valueThree + " " + valueFour + " " + valueFive + " " + valueSix + " " + valueSeven + " " + valueEight + " " + valueNine + " " + valueTen + " " + valueEleven + " )"; return strSQL; } as you can see thats quite a mess so i wondered if it was at all possible to write a method which would take an arguement of how many colums needed to be inserted and then could create a method with that many arguements. i hope you can see what i am getting at and dont just sound like a plep! thanks in advance

• Can't create admin user on Heroku

  I am new to rails and I have gone through Kevin Skoglund's Ruby on Rails 3 Essential Training course on Lynda.com. Through the course you set up a simple cms, which I did. It doesn't cover Git or deployment but I've pushed my simple cms to github (https://github.com/nick5a1/Simple_CMS) and deployed to Heroku (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/). In order to deploy to Heroku I followed the Heroku setup guide (https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/rails3) and switched my database from MySQL to PostgreSQL. As instructed I changed gen'mysql2' to gen 'sqlite3' in my Gemfile and ran bundle install before pushing. I then ran heroku run rake db:migrate. I'm running into 2 problems. When I try to log in (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/access) I get an error "We're sorry, but something went wrong". I should instead be getting a flash message with invalid username/password combination. This is what I'm getting on my test environment on my local machine. Secondly, when I log into the Heroku console to create and create an admin user, when I try to save that user I get the following error: irb(main):004:0> user.save (1.2ms) BEGIN AdminUser Exists (1.9ms) SELECT 1 AS one FROM "admin_users" WHERE "admin_users"."username" = 'Nick5a1' LIMIT 1 (1.7ms) ROLLBACK => false Any advice on how to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated :). • Is there a way to use Linq projections with extension methods

  I'm trying to use AutoMapper and a repository pattern along with a fluent interface, and running into difficulty with the Linq projection. For what it's worth, this code works fine when simply using in-memory objects. When using a database provider, however, it breaks when constructing the query graph. I've tried both SubSonic and Linq to SQL with the same result. Thanks for your ideas. Here's an extension method used in all scenarios - It's the source of the problem since everything works fine without using extension methods public static IQueryable<MyUser> ByName(this IQueryable<MyUser> users, string firstName) { return from u in users where u.FirstName == firstName select u; } Here's the in-memory code that works fine var userlist = new List<User> {new User{FirstName = "Test", LastName = "User"}}; Mapper.CreateMap<User, MyUser>(); var result = (from u in userlist select Mapper.Map<User, MyUser>(u)) .AsQueryable() .ByName("Test"); foreach (var x in result) { Console.WriteLine(x.FirstName); } Here's the same thing using a SubSonic (or Linq to SQL or whatever) that fails. This is what I'd like to make work somehow with extension methods... • How to open email by x-gm-msgid in Gmail with Javascript

  I'm writing an extension which surfaces links to gmail messages. As the UI loads right in Gmail, I should be able to click on one of these links and have Gmail load it (without refreshing). I have "x-gm-msgid" available and theoretically, I should just be able to navigate to "https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/[x-gm-msgid]". I've tried using location.hash = "#inbox/[x-gm-msgid]" I've tried using history.pushState(null, null, "/mail/u/0/#inbox/[x-gm-msgid]") Neither of which works. Gmail just thwarts any attempt to change the URL (unless it is done via user interaction) Any thoughts on how to get around this restriction?

Not to sure if it is an issue with my code or the python sdk for facebook.

  I'm following the tuitions on XMLHttpRequest 2 from : https://developer.mozilla.org/en/DOM/XMLHttpRequest/Sending_and_Receiving_Binary_Data and http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/file/xhr2/#toc-send-arraybuffer They're great tutorials for the client side, and here is a working extract from my script: var imagebuffer = new ArrayBuffer(size); // create the readonly memory buffer var imagedata= new Uint8Array(imagebuffer); // create a view to manipulate data // do some cool stuff with imagedata var exchange=new XMLHttpRequest(); exchange.open("POST",url,true); exchange.send(arraybuffer); So far so good, and I can see from the both client and server control panels that plenty of data is being transferred. Here's my problem: how do I access the ArrayBuffer with PHP at the server? I'm used to the $_POST superglobal wanting parameters passing from a HTML form so it can be accessed as an array but I can't find any reference for how to access this binary array and stick it in my MySQL database.

• ImageButton OnClick Event not firing

  Hi All, I am really confused about this one. I have some code that runs fine on my development server but I am now trying to get the site working on the sales guys new laptop. None of the image buttons on the website seem to be working for him (they just redirect me back to the websites homepage) whereas they used to on his previous machine. The only difference between each machine is that his old one was Vista and the new one is Windows 7. Has anyone come accross this issue? • best way to get new access_token using PHP sdk

  I am getting the error "An active access token must be used to query information about the current user". There seems to be tons of articles and ideas, but am very confused and it seems that things are changing as well. A lot say to use offline-access but that appears to be going away. I did find this article. Does anyone have an example using the PHP SDK?   I am using python-monetdb 11.16.0.7. I created my database farm and database according to instructions given below (source: http://www.monetdb.org/Documentation/monetdbd) % monetdbd start /home/my-dbfarm % monetdb create my-first-db Then I tried to connect to the database using the below mentioned command in python(https://pypi.python.org/pypi/python-monetdb/). • What's the best NAME for "quick" Category you add to a file?

  So the other day I was sick of typing out repetetive addTarget:action:forControlEvents:s, and macros are only entertaining for so long, so I did this: @implementation UIControl (xx) -(void)addTarget:(id)target action:(SEL)action { [self addTarget:target action:action forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; } @end *and simply added it at the top of the .m file in question. Works great of course, but notice the "xx".* What's the best thing to NAME a "quick" Category like this? Annoyingly, it appears you can not leave the xx blank - it would then become an "Extension" (which, incidentally, I don't understand at all). I was thinking maybe: a single underscore the name of the class again identically "quick" perhaps the name of the class in this file (as in "quick extra routines for UIControl in CherryBomb") - so it would be UIControl(CherryBomb), ie, remind you that these extra routines are handy for CherryBomb "x" your or your company's initials (use the same "quick" Category name everywhere) "ThisTextNeverUsedAnywhere" By the way, I've been assuming that Categories only happen in the files that see them (CherryBomb.m in the example) - they do not from then on apply app-wide. ie they only apply where you include the header file (UIControl+NattyStuff) or in the "quick" case only in the file to which one adds the text. (By the way ... it appears you do not actually need to include an interface for such a Category, i.e. you can omit... //you can actually get away without these lines... //#import <UIKit/UIControl.h> //@interface UIControl (x) //-(void)addTarget:(id)target action:(SEL)action; //@end ... that part and it works fine.) For people who love Categories, and who doesn't, what's the answer to this troubling question? What should you name a "quick" Category where the name is never going to be referenced again and is irrelevant? Is "_" a solution?

• How to strip a GET property from the URL using PHP

So before echoing $pageURL I add the following line: $pageUrl = preg_replace("&type=main", "", $pageURL); But it still returns the full url including type=main. How can I get rid of that from the url?
