  • MySQL BinLog Statement Retrieval

    I have seven 1G MySQL binlog files that I have to use to retrieve some "lost" information. I only need to get certain INSERT statements from the log (ex. where the statement starts with "INSERT INTO table SET field1="). If I just run a mysqlbinlog (even if per database and with using --short-form), I get a text file that is several hundred megabytes, which makes it almost impossible to then parse with any other program. Is there a way to just retrieve certain sql statements from the log? I don't need any of the ancillary information (timestamps, autoincrement #s, etc.). I just need a list of sql statements that match a certain string. Ideally, I would like to have a text file that just lists those sql statements, such as: INSERT INTO table SET field1='a'; INSERT INTO table SET field1='tommy'; INSERT INTO table SET field1='2'; I could get that by running mysqlbinlog to a text file and then parsing the results based upon a string, but the text file is way too big. It just times out any script I run and even makes it impossible to open in a text editor. Thanks for your help in advance.

  • SQL Server - Query Short-Circuiting?

    Do T-SQL queries in SQL Server support short-circuiting? For instance, I have a situation where I have two database and I'm comparing data between the two tables to match and copy some info across. In one table, the "ID" field will always have leading zeros (such as "000000001234"), and in the other table, the ID field may or may not have leading zeros (might be "000000001234" or "1234"). So my query to match the two is something like: select * from table1 where table1.ID LIKE '%1234' To speed things up, I'm thinking of adding an OR before the like that just says: table1.ID = table2.ID to handle the case where both ID's have the padded zeros and are equal. Will doing so speed up the query by matching items on the "=" and not evaluating the LIKE for every single row (will it short circuit and skip the LIKE)?

  • problem processing xml in flex3

    Hi All, First time here asking a question and still learning on how to format things better... so sorry about the format as it does not look too well. I have started learning flex and picked up a book and tried to follow the examples in it. However, I got stuck with a problem. I have a jsp page which returns xml which basically have a list of products. I am trying to parse this xml, in other words go through products, and create Objects for each product node and store them in an ArrayCollection. The problem I believe I am having is I am not using the right way of navigating through xml. Can someone please help/point out what I could be doing wrong. I've tried removing white space, but no luck. Any ideas? If one of you can help it would be much appreciated.

  • How to implement filter system in SQL?

    Right now I am planning to add a filter system to my site. Examples: (ID=apple, COLOR=red, TASTE=sweet, ORIGIN=US) (ID=mango, COLOR=yellow, TASTE=sweet, ORIGIN=MEXICO) (ID=banana, COLOR=yellow, TASTE=bitter-sweet, ORIGIN=US) so now I am interested in doing the following: SELECT ID FROM thisTable WHERE COLOR='yellow' AND TASTE='SWEET' But my problem is I am doing this for multiple categories in my site, and the columns are NOT consistent. (like if the table is for handphones, then it will be BRAND, 3G-ENABLED, PRICE, COLOR, WAVELENGTH, etc) how could I design a general schema that allows this? Right now I am planning on doing: table(ID, KEY, VALUE) This allows arbitary number of columns, but for the query, I am using SELECT ID FROM table WHERE (KEY=X1 AND VALUE=V1) AND (KEY=X2 AND VALUE=V2), .. which returns an empty set. Can someone recommend a good solution to this? Note that the number of columns WILL change regularly

The div "ScriptContainer" sits in front of the whole thing and when the mouse enters or leaves the functions work exactly as they should. But IE8 places the text in front of everything and then the functions do not work as i would like them to. "ChangeBackcolourOFF" gets called every time the mouse enters the text, which sits in front of everything and "ChangeBackcolourON" gets called every time the mouse enters the "Scriptcontainer" from the text. So i either need to figure out how to force the text to be placed behind the "Scriptcontainer" or some other solutions. I appreciate you answers

    I'm adding a TimeEntry to a page where the user can add a row (clone) to a table. The row that is cloned is hidden (display:none).   • Not able to delete list which dynamically created with jquery.

    I have two html here. The first one is dynamically generated by php and second one is just html to test. I also have the following jquery. When I click a cross with class delete in the second ones(plain html), it works nicely. However when I click a cross in the first ones, it does not work. It redirect me to the home page with # at the end. I am hoping someone point out what I am doing wrong. Thank in advance.   • How to check if a variable is defined in a Master file in ASP.NET MVC

    I've got a Site.Master file I've created to be my template for the majority of the site, with a navigation. This navigation is dynamically created, based on a recursive Entity (called Page) - Pages with a parentID of 0 are top level, and naturally each child carries it's parent's Id in that field. I've created a quick little HTML Helper that accepts the ID of an Page and generates the nav by doing a foreach on the children that have a parentId matching the passed Id. On the majority of the site, I want the Site.Master to use a parentId of 0, but if I'm on a strongly typed View displaying a Page, I naturally want to use the Id of the page. Is there a way to do such conditional logic in a Site.Master (and, does that violate MVC rules)? "If I'm on a strongly typed Page of /Page/{Id}, use the Id render nav, else use 0"

    I´m having some trouble retrieving a collection of strings in a projection: say that I have the following classes public class WorkSet { public Guid Id { get; set; } public string Title { get; set; } public ISet<string> PartTitles { get; protected set; } } public class Work { public Guid Id { get; set; } public WorkSet WorkSet { get; set; } //a bunch of other properties } I then have a list of Work ids I want to retrieve WorkSet.Title, WorkSet.PartTitles and Id for. My tought was to do something like this: var works = Session.CreateCriteria<Work>() .Add(Restrictions.In("Id", hitIds)) .CreateAlias("WorkSet", "WorkSet") .SetProjection( Projections.ProjectionList() .Add(Projections.Id()) .Add(Projections.Property("WorkSet.Title")) .Add(Projections.Property("WorkSet.PartTitles"))) .List(); The Id and Title loads up just fine, but the PartTitles returns null.     Using mysql 5.1.41 and innodb I'm doing some data import, but can't use load data infile, so I'm manually issuing insert statements. I found that it's much faster to disable auto commit and issue say, 100 insert statements and then commit, instead of the implicit commit after each insert. It got me thinking, what limits are there to how much data I can put into a transaction? Is there a limit on the number of statements, or does it have to do with the size in bytes etc...?

As pointed out by Kristina, one can use Mongodb 's map/reduce to list the keys in a collection: db.things.insert( { type : ['dog', 'cat'] } ); db.things.insert( { egg : ['cat'] } ); db.things.insert( { type : [] }); db.things.insert( { hello : [] } ); mr = db.runCommand({"mapreduce" : "things", "map" : function() { for (var key in this) { emit(key, null); } }, "reduce" : function(key, stuff) { return null; }}) db[mr.result].distinct("_id") //output: [ "_id", "egg", "hello", "type" ] As long as we want to get only the keys located at the first level of depth, this works fine. However, it will fail retrieving those keys that are located at deeper levels. If we add a new record: db.things.insert({foo: {bar: {baaar: true}}}) And we run again the map-reduce +distinct snippet above, we will get: [ "_id", "egg", "foo", "hello", "type" ] But we will not get the bar and the baaar keys, which are nested down in the data structure. The question is: how do I retrieve all keys, no matter their level of depth? Ideally, I would actually like the script to walk down to all level of depth, producing an output such as: ["_id","egg","foo","foo.bar","foo.bar.baaar","hello","type"] Thank you in advance!

    I'm creating a timesheet application. I have the following entities (amongst others): Company Employee = an employee associated with a company Client = a client associated with a company So far I have the following (abbreviated) database setup: Company - id - name Employee - id - companyId (FK to Company.id) - name Client - id - companyId (FK to Company.id) - name Now, I want an employee to be associated with a client, but only if that client is associated with the company the employee works for. How would you guarantee this data integrity on a database level? Or should I just depend on the application to guarantee this data integrity? I thought about creating a many to many table like this: EmployeeClient - employeeId (FK to Employee.id) - companyId \ (combined FK to Client.companyId, Client.id) - clientId / Thus, when I insert a client for an employee along with the employee's company id, the database should prevent this when the client is not associated with the employee's company id. Does this make sense? Because this still doesn't guarantee the employee is associated with the company. How do you deal with these things? UPDATE The scenario is as followed: A company has multiple employees. Employees will only be linked to one company. A company has multiple clients also. Clients will only be linked to one company. (Company is a sandbox, so to speak). An employee of a company can be linked to a client of it's company, but only if the client is part of the company's clientele. In other words: The application will allow a company to create/add employees and create/add clients (hence the companyId FK in the Employee and Client tables). Next, the company will be allowed to assign certain clients to certain of it's employees (EmployeeClient table). Imagine an employee working on projects for a few clients for which s/he can write billable hours, but the employee must not be allowed to write billable hours for clients they are not assigned to by their employer (the company). So, employees will not automatically have access to all their company's clients, but only to those that the company has selected for them. Hopefully this has shed some more light on the matter.

Is it must to add all the three functions insert, update, and delete functions to a table. I had tried with insert alone and also with all, but why can't i get the name of the stored procedure in the connection string. Let me know what i done clearly. I had added the sp i had imported the functions in the model browser. i had also mapped the insert, update and delete function to the table with return type only for insert and update.
