• What's wrong with this code? Values not saved to db

  Been trying to get this code to work for several days now to no avail. I'm at wits end. I've managed, with the code below, to create a customized category picker widget that appears on the PAGE editor. • jQuery show submit button on input field click

  Hi, I'm trying to have a comment input field that will show the submit button on a dynamically created form when you click on the input field. Similar to how facebook comments work. When you click on the input field the submit button appears and when you click off it disappears. All the comment input id's are comment_1 etc and the submit button id's are submit_1 etc. I've tried this, jQuery("#[id^='comment_']").live('click',function(event){ if(jQuery("#[id^='comment_']").val() == ""){ jQuery("#[id^='submit_']").hide(); } else { jQuery("#[id^='submit_']").show(); } }); And that won't work for some reason.   Hi: I have three tables: Suppliers, Parts and Types. I need to join all of them while discriminating columns with the same name (say, "id") in the three tables. I would like to successfully run this query: CREATE VIEW Everything AS SELECT Suppliers.name as supplier, Parts.id, Parts.description, Types.typedesc as type FROM Suppliers JOIN (Parts JOIN Types ON Parts.type_id = Types.id) ON Suppliers.id = Parts.supplier_id; My DBMS (sqlite) complains that "there is not such a column (Parts.id)". I guess it forgets table names once the JOIN is done but then how can I refer to the column id that belongs to the table Parts?

  Following problem: I need to get the position of a record in the table. Let's say I have five record in the table: Name: john doe, ID: 1 Name: jane doe, ID: 2 Name: Frankie Boy, ID: 4 Name: Johnny, ID: 9 Now, "Frankie Boy" is in the third position in the table. But How to get this information from the SQL server? I could count IDs, but they are not reliable, Frankie has the ID 4, but is in the third position because the record with the ID '3' was deleted. Is there a way? I am aware of ROW_RANK but it would be costly, because I need to select basically the whole set first before I can rank row_rank them. I am using MS SQL Server 2008 R2.

So it skips the very next row and loads the rows only after the very first, so only 9. I tried to write here only the important part of the code, so i skipped some echo part etc. Any idea?

  Hi I have 2 tables A and B with the following columns Table A - id,bId,aName,aVal Table B - id,bName where A.bId is the same as B.id. I want a result set from a query to get A.id, A.aName, B.bName where A.bId=B.id OR A.id, A.aName, "" when A.bId=0. In both cases, only those records should be considered where A.aVal LIKE "aVal" Can someone please help me with the query? I can use left join but how do I get the blank string if bId=0 and B.bName otherwise? Thanks

On click, the button submits data to a php file and then changes text and blurs according to the response from php file. The blur function and change text function in col5 is working well. But the change text function in button got really buggy. The button text should change accordingly. the text of button "Activate" should change to "Inactivate" and the text of button "Inactivate" should change to "Activate" on click / successful submission.. This is not working.. Q1: Is it better to change photo_num on COLOR and SIZE to int(10) and point it to PHOTO's id? Right now I use these: (PHOTO is no where in the picture) SELECT * from COLOR WHERE photo_num='xxx'; SELECT * from SIZE WHERE photo_num='xxx'; Q2: How will the SELECT query look if PHOTO id was used in COLOR, SIZE?

  I have two tables TableA (articles) int id int Type string name and TableB (compatibles) int linked_ID int tableA_ID TableA records: id=1, Type=0, name="ArticleA" id=2, Type=1, name="ArticleB" id=3, Type=2, name="ArticleC" id=4, Type=1, name="ArticleD" TableB records: linked_ID= 1, tableA_ID=2 linked_ID= 1, tableA_ID=3 linked_ID= 1, tableA_ID=4 TableB has a list of arcicels that are compatible to a certain article. I am quite new to queries (didn't need them in my projects yet). But as C# and WPF allow some pretty cool automation with Binding I would like to add a binding that returns the following: Give me all articles that are of Type 1 and compatible to my selected article (id=1). The simple part of it works well (articles has a list of all articles): private ObservableCollection<Article> _articles = new ObservableCollection<Article>(); [fill it with the available articles] and then: comboBoxArticles.ItemsSource = _articles.AsBindable().Where( c => c.Typ == 0 ); How can I extend the Where clause to query another table? Thanks a lot in advance.

  Hey all, i am trying to learn how to insert a comment within some html code without having to refresh the page. I know jQuery is capable of inserting a comment into a div area but i am having problems finding an example like that with fading in. • Question about joins and table with Millions of rows

  I have to create 2 tables: Magazine ( 10 millions of rows with these columns: id, title, genres, printing, price ) Author ( 180 millions of rows with these columns: id, name, magazine_id ) . Every author can write on ONLY ONE magazine and every magazine has more authors. So if I want to know all authors of Motors Magazine, I have to use this query: SELECT * FROM Author, Magazine WHERE ( Author.id = Magazine.id ) AND ( genres = 'Motors' ) The same applies to Printing and Price column. To avoid these joins with tables of millions of rows, I thought to use this tables: Magazine ( 10 millions of rows with this column: id, title, genres, printing, price ) Author ( 180 millions of rows with this column: id, name, magazine_id, genres, printing, price ) . and this query: SELECT * FROM Author WHERE genres = 'Motors' Is it a good approach ? I can use Postgresql or Mysql.

  I have got a table which contains 5 column and query requirements: update row no 8 (or id=8) set its column 2, column 3's value from id 9th column 2, column 3 value. means all value of column 2, 3 should be shifted to column 2, 3 of upper row (start from row no 8) and value of last row's 2, 3 will be null For example, with just 3 rows, the first row is untouched, the second to N-1th rows are shifted once, and the Nth row has nulls. id math science sst hindi english 1 11 12 13 14 15 2 21 22 23 24 25 3 31 32 33 34 35 The result of query of id=2 should be: id math science sst hindi english 1 11 12 13 14 15 2 31 32 23 24 25 //value of 3rd row (col 2,3) shifted to row 2 3 null null 33 34 35 This process should run for all rows whose id 2 Please help me to create this update query I am using MS sqlserver 2005

  In SQL, is there anyway to accomplish something like this? This is based off a report built in SQL Server Report Builder, where the user can specify multiple text values as a single report parameter. The query for the report grabs all of the values the user selected and stores them in a single variable. I need a way for the query to return only records that have associations to EVERY value the user specified. -- Assume there's a table of Elements with thousands of entries. -- Now we declare a list of properties for those Elements to be associated with. create table #masterTable ( ElementId int, Text varchar(10) ) insert into #masterTable (ElementId, Text) values (1, 'Red'); insert into #masterTable (ElementId, Text) values (1, 'Coarse'); insert into #masterTable (ElementId, Text) values (1, 'Dense'); insert into #masterTable (ElementId, Text) values (2, 'Red'); insert into #masterTable (ElementId, Text) values (2, 'Smooth'); insert into #masterTable (ElementId, Text) values (2, 'Hollow'); -- Element 1 is Red, Coarse, and Dense. The above syntax doesn't actually work because SQL doesn't seem to allow multiple values on the left side of the "in" comparison. Error that returns: Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the subquery is used as an expression. Am I even on the right track here? Sorry if the example looks long-winded or confusing.
