    How do you pass a value from your DAL to your sproc so that the ISNULL function will do it's job. Particularly the DATE value coming from my .NET assembly. In T-SQL an INSERT STMNT and in the VALUES clause, the line of interest goes like this; ISNULL(@myparm_forcolumn9, @myparm_forcolumn9). What value do I pass from .NET to make this line in my sproc work universally, so I don't have to write a millions INSERT SPROCS for every combination of columns??? I just want to write one stored procedure(sproc) that will handle all INSERTS in my universe.

  • Best way to parse XMPP-like XML streams?

    I am working on a server application which receives data over a TCP socket in an XMPP-like XML format, i.e. every child of the <root> element essentially represents one separate request (stanza). The connection is closed as soon as </root> is received. I do know that I must use a stream parser like SAX, somehow. Though, for convenience, I'd prefer to have a tree-like interface to access each stanza's child elements. (The data sent with every request is not large so I think it makes sense to read each stanza as a whole.) What's the best way to realize that in Python (preferably v3)? This is the code I'd like to build it in. In all tutorials I saw, there are some simple examples like public void LoadList(IEnumerable<String> data) where there is no need reference to model. But how i.e DataGridView can publish current row data?

  • JQUERY common function library create script errors. How to avoid?

    Hi all, I am building a common function library but the functions inside need to reference different jquery files, which they may need to be referenced in some pages but not in others. When I called this common function library in one web page which is only going to use one function, and I don't reference the files need it for the other function, then it will create a script error.   • Can't select database table even though the code is right

    I am trying to display a list of my vbulliten threads on a non-vbulliten portion of my site. However I can't select the vbulliten database: <?php $host = "localhost"; $user = "my username"; $pass = "my password"; $dbname = "tableprefix_forum"; mysql_connect($host, $user, $pass) or die ("Could not connect to database server."); mysql_select_db($dbname) or die ("Could not select database."); ?> I am substituting some things here in this example but all my credentials are correct including my db server username, password and forum db name. So what is the problem? Is it due to some internal security feature in vbulliten, does this system not allow you to connect to it's db if the page trying to connect to it is a non-vbulliten page?

  • Extend Google AppEngine User in JRuby?

    I'm working with JRuby and DataMapper running on Google AppEngine. I want to add a property to the AppEngine::User like :active_calendar which is a reference to a Calendar kind. I was able to do something in Python this way using a back reference. Are these possible in JRuby? Is this possible? Do I need to subclass the User? Can I even do that? If so - how? Thanks!

  • C++ private pointer "leaking"?

    I'm going to create a class to hold a long list of parameters that will be passed to a function. Let's use this shorter example: class ParamList{ public: ParamList(string& a_string); string& getString(); //returns my_string private: string& my_string; } My question is this: my_string is private, yet I'm returning the reference to it. Isn't that called something like private pointer leaking in C++? Is this not good programming practice? I want callers of getString to be able to get the reference and also modify it.     I am using Propel as my DAL for my Symfony project. I can't seem to get my application to work across two or more databases. Any idea how to fix this problem?

For this I am using a file named chicago.sty, Document compiles however I do not see any reference or citation.Instead I somehow get error when reading the paper.blg file: This is BibTeX, Version 0.99cThe top-level auxiliary file: paper.aux I couldn't open style file chicago.bst ---line 62 of file paper.aux : \bibstyle{chicago} What is a blg file, and how can I generate it from the .sty file so that my citations and references display properly. I want to know how many different paths can the ball take from X to Y? for example if he is playing with 3 players there are 5 different paths, 4 players 16 paths, if he is playing with 20 players there are 330665665962404000 paths, and 40 players 55447192200369381342665835466328897344361743780 that the ball can take. the number max. of players that he can play with is 500. I was thinking in using Catalan Numbers? do you think is a correct approach to solve this? Can you give me some tips.

  • Retrieve web user's Identity outside of request scope

    I have an ASP.NET app that logs Audit reports using nHibernate's IPreUpdateListener. In order to set the current user in the Listener events, I was using System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent(). This works fine when debugging on my machine, but when I move it to the staging server, I'm getting the ASP.NET process credentials, not the requesting user. In the ASP.NET page, I can use Request.LogonUserIdentity (which works fine since I'm using integrated authentication), but how do I reference this user directly without having to pass it directly to my event? I don't want to have to pass this info through the pipeline because it really doesn't belong in the intermediate events/calls.

The c function looks like this unsigned short write_buffer( unsigned short device_number, unsigned short word_count, unsigned long buffer_link, unsigned short* buffer) my attempt at a C# import looks like this [DllImport("sslib32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Ansi, SetLastError = true)] private static extern ushort write_buffer(ushort deviceNumber, ushort wordCount, UInt32 bufferLink, IntPtr buffer) In C# i have a Dictionary of messages that i would like to pass to this function. The Dictionary looks like this: Dictionary<string, List<ushort>> msgs I am a bit confused how to make a make a proper call to pass msgs as the buffer. deviceNumber is 2, wordCount is 32, and buffLink is 0. So i know the call should look something like this write_buffer(2,32,0, msgs[key]); Obviously i am getting an invalid argument for the IntPtr. What is the proper way to make this call?

    i have 2 windows: window A and window B. -window A and window B have same domain -window A and window B doesn't have any parent window. first question: -is it possible for window A to get a reference of window B? second question: -what is the most elegant way to make window A notify something to window B? (modern browser supporting HTML5 restriction is not a problem) 2 ways i am aware of doing this: -messaging by server: where window B regulary asks the server if window A has notified something -messaging by local data (HTML5): when window A wants to notify something it changes the local data, window B regulary checks the local data for any change. but the 2 ways are not so elegant. for example it would be nice to get an reference of window B and using window.postMessage() (HTML5) ultimate goal is to make something like facebook where if you open 4 facebook tabs, and chat in one tab, the chat is actualized on every facebook tab, which is neat! thanks folks!

    Suppose, a blog or a nice article was hosted on a website and it got deleted or worse the website was brought down. How do you view that web page? I tried searching for the cached version in Google. But, looks like the content was deleted long ago and is not listed in the search results directly. There are annotations to the link from many other sites, but still the actual content is not fully available. Now, can anybody help me see this page... I am actually looking for http://effectize.com/become-coolest-programmer :) And, moreover, in addition to bookmarking a favorite link, is it possible to cache the content of the link as well for later reference in case it gets deleted? I have the following code: void Stack::operator =(Stack &rhs) { //do the actual copying } Stack::Stack(Stack &rhs) //copy-constructor { top=NULL; //initialize this as an empty stack (which it is) *this=rhs; //invoke assignment operator } Stack& Stack::CopyStack() { return *this; //this statement will invoke copy contructor } It is being used like this: unsigned Stack::count() { unsigned c=0; Stack copy=CopyStack(); while (!copy.empty()) { copy.pop(); c++; } return c; } Removing reference symbol from declaration of CopyStack (returning a copy instead of reference) makes no difference in visual studio 2008 (with respect to number of times copying is invoked). I guess it gets optimized away - normally it should first make a copy for the return value, then call assignment operator once more to assign it to variable sc. What is your experience with this sort of optimization in different compilers? Regards, Dženan
