• Recover a deleted webpage

  Suppose, a blog or a nice article was hosted on a website and it got deleted or worse the website was brought down. How do you view that web page? I tried searching for the cached version in Google. But, looks like the content was deleted long ago and is not listed in the search results directly. There are annotations to the link from many other sites, but still the actual content is not fully available. Now, can anybody help me see this page... I am actually looking for http://effectize.com/become-coolest-programmer :) And, moreover, in addition to bookmarking a favorite link, is it possible to cache the content of the link as well for later reference in case it gets deleted? • How can I make a read-only ObservableCollection property?

  I'd like to expose a property on a view model that contains a list of objects (from database). I need this collection to be read-only. That is, I want to prevent Add/Remove, etc. But allow the foreach and indexers to work. My intent is to declare a private field holding the editable collection and reference it with a read-only Public Property. As follows public ObservableCollection<foo> CollectionOfFoo { get { return _CollectionOfFoo; } } However, that syntax just prevents changing the reference to the collection. It doesn't prevent add/remove, etc. What is the right way to accomplish this?

• Selenium selected option in dropdown not displayed correctly

  I have the following issue with Selenium Webdriver. There are two dropdown menus on a page i am testing "brand" and "items". The options of "items" depend on which brand you choose. I am trying to iterate through all possible choices and print brand-item pairs. I use two possible ways to pick an option from each dropdown menu Using Select(): def retryingSelectOption(name,n): result=False attempts=0 while attempts<5: try: element=Select(driver.find_element_by_name(name)) element.select_by_index(n) print element.all_selected_options[0].text result=True break except StaleElementReferenceException: pass attempts+=1 return result And using .click(): def retryingClickOption(name,n): result=False attempts=0 while attempts<5: try: driver.find_element_by_name(name).find_elements_by_tag_name("option")[n].click() result=True break except StaleElementReferenceException: pass attempts+=1 return result My problem is that at ,what seem to me as random moments (sometimes it works sometimes it does not), even though the above functions return True and printing out the selected option shows me the correct answer, the browser still displays the previous option. So basically Selenium tells me i have picked the right option but the browser displays the previous one.No idea what is wrong.

  When using builtin types as fixture parameters, pytest prints out the value of the parameters in the test report. For example: @fixture(params=['hello', 'world'] def data(request): return request.param def test_something(data): pass Running this with py.test --verbose will print something like: test_example.py:7: test_something[hello] PASSED test_example.py:7: test_something[world] PASSED Note that the value of the parameter is printed in square brackets after the test name. Now, when using an object of a user-defined class as parameter, like so: class Param(object): def __init__(self, text): self.text = text @fixture(params=[Param('hello'), Param('world')] def data(request): return request.param def test_something(data): pass pytest will simply enumerate the number of values (p0, p1, etc.): test_example.py:7: test_something[p0] PASSED test_example.py:7: test_something[p1] PASSED This behavior does not change even when the user-defined class provides custom __str__ and __repr__ implementations. Is there any way to make pytest display something more useful than just p0 here? I am using pytest 2.5.2 on Python 2.7.6 on Windows 7.

• Can a webflow's action state have multiple redirects on success?

  Say, I have this type of webflow: def myFlow = { state1 { } on("next").to("stateAct") stateAct { action { ... DB stuff ... } } on("success").to("state2") state2 { } on("prev").to("state1") } Now, the contents of "stateAct" is common between state1 and state2. Meaning, if I press "next" from state1, I need to pass by stateAct before I can go to state2 (which is the current implementation) and if I press "prev" in state2, I need it to pass by stateAct before it goes to state1. Obviously, in the sample webflow above, it doesn't do the latter. So, my question is, is there a way to detect in stateAct who called it (state1 or state2) so that I can redirect accordingly on "success"? Or something similar to that behavior? Thanks! -Lee

• C++ new line not translating

  First off, I'm a complete beginner at C++. I'm coding something using an API, and would like to pass text containing new lines to it, and have it print out the new lines at the other end. If I hardcode whatever I want it to print out, like so printInApp("Hello\nWorld"); it does come out as separate lines in the other end, but if I retrieve the text from the app using a method that returns a const char then pass it straight to printInApp (which takes const char as argument), it comes out as a single line. Why's this and how would I go about to fix it?

  Hi everyone, I am working on python right now and i am little bit stuck in performing some tricks. I have web form with two options- File upload and textarea, i can easily pass file name with file upload options but have problem when it's textarea. Because when i use textarea then first i have to save values passed from textarea to some files and save it on the working directory. After that i can execute commandline argument and pass same saved filename name. For this problem i have to generate unique file first and save the values passed from textarea in it. Can anybody give me some tips to solve my problem. Any algorithms, suggestions and lines of code are appreciated. Thanks for your concern

  There's this programing language called Med-PC that works with animal behavior. I'm trying to learn a bit about it, but i can't seem to find any kind of books or material about it. I've "google it" but all i seem to find are some references about it and a PDF explaining the installing of the program itself and sensors(for the experiments), not actual programing instructions. I'm looking for some kind of guidance, documents or books, some kind of reference where i can improve and learn about this language, or if it is based on some other language. There are coders who prefer aliasing this to that to make it obvious its intention. Other guys use self since it's pointing to the object itself. I even saw source codes where me held the reference and it still makes sense. Certainly there are other ones. Which one should I prefer?   My windows form application has a grid view control with filename as a default column. User should create a column of following types Text, Number, Currency, Combo Box, Check Box, Radio Button ,Date time type (should display DateTimePicker control) and Hyper Link type. After that i want to pass all rows to next screen for further processing. We can create a column of these types in a grid view but how can i store it in a data table so that i can pass it to next screen. Or should i create a column in a data table and then assign data table to grid view by gridview.DataSource = dt; but can we create a these types of columns in a data table. I am so confused!!   In C++ you are allowed to write a return statement that looks like : return ( ... ); which is different from the more popular : return ... ; In particular the first version returns the address/reference of something that is local to the stack of the function which contains that return statement. Now why something would like to return a reference to something that, at that point, has no lifetime ? What are the use case for this idiom ? Considering the new buzzword and features from C++11 and C++14 there is a different usage for this ?

• How can unit testing make parameter validation redundant?

  We have a convention to validate all parameters of constructors and public functions/methods. For mandatory parameters of reference type, we mainly check for non-null and that's the chief validation in constructors, where we set up mandatory dependencies of the type. The number one reason why we do this is to catch that error early and not get a null reference exception a few hours down the line without knowing where or when the faulty parameter was introduced. As we start transitioning to more and more TDD, some team members feel the validation is redundant. Uncle Bob, who is a vocal advocate of TDD, strongly advices against doing parameter validation. His main argument seems to be "I have a suite of unit tests that makes sure everything works". But I can for the life of it just not see in what way unit tests can prevent our developers from calling these methods with bad parameters in production code. Please, unit testers out there, if you could explain this to me in a rational way with concrete examples, I'd be more than happy to seize this parameter validation!

I'm looping through undefined properties as well. • how to debug a WCF service once it's out of dev env

  hi, I have a WCF service that i've been able to communicate with fine while it's hosted locally. I have it deployed to a web server in IIS now, and I can get the wsdl file without error by navigating to http://site.com:8000/service/servicename.svc?wsdl in trying to test this, i've created a console app and was able to successfully add a service reference to this. But when I try to run a Get() method on the service reference, it just hangs with no response. How can I begin to debug this? Thanks!

But when I include them as test dependencies in pom of current jar, what all I get to see is the classes in src/main/java. How can I include these functional jars as dependent jars so that I can also reference classes in src/test/java. In other words, how do I reference the test classes in other jars.
