  Am getting a GMT time from my server in this format Fri, 18 Oct 2013 11:38:23 GMT My requirement is to convert this time to local time using Javascript, eg:/ if the user is from India, first i need to take the time zone +5.30 and add that to my servertime and convert the time string to the following format 2013-10-18 16:37:06 I tried with following code but not working var date = new Date('Fri, 18 Oct 2013 11:38:23 GMT'); date.toString(); Please help me to solve this issue, Thanks in advance

  I have setup a UITabBarController with two tabs, one is a simple UIViewController and the other is a UINavigationController using second UIViewController as its rootController to set up a UITableView. My question is with regard to naming the tabs (i.e. UITabBarItem) For the first tab (simple UIViewController) I have added the following (see below) to the controllers -init method. - (id)init { self = [super init]; if(self) { UITabBarItem *tabBarItem = [self tabBarItem]; [tabBarItem setTitle:@"ONE"]; } return self; } For the other tab I have added (see below) to the second controllers init (rootController). - (id)init { self = [super init]; if(self) { UITabBarItem *tabBarItem = [[self navigationController] tabBarItem]; [tabBarItem setTitle:@"TWO"]; } return self; } Am I setting the second tabBarItem title in the right place as currently it is not showing?   Is there any difference in (asymptotic) performance between Orders.OrderBy(order => order.Date).First() and Orders.Where(order => order.Date == Orders.Max(x => x.Date)); i.e. will First() perform the OrderBy()? I'm guessing no. MSDN says enumerating the collection via foreach och GetEnumerator does but the phrasing does not exclude other extensions.

• Database normalization and duplicate values

  Consider a Parent / Child / GrandChild structure in a database table schema, or even a deeper hierarchy. These being in the same aggregate. One table DAYS keeps a single row per day, and has a "Date" field. This is the root table, or maybe a child of the root. No row can ever be deleted in this table. In this case, however complex my table schema looks like, however far away in the hierarchy any other table is, is there any reason why any other table would hold a Date value? Can't it instead just have a FK to the DAYS table. I obviously assume that the creation of these date fields happen not before such datefield exist in the DAYS table. I'm now thinking just about the date part to be relevant, not the time part. Not sure if all databases can store these individually. That's maybe relevant, but not really the focus of the question.

  I have a has_many association between two models using a date as both the foreign and primary key for each model. It works perfectly one way but not the other. Works has_one :quiz_log, :primary_key => :start_at, :foreign_key => :start_at Doesn't work has_many :event_logs, :primary_key => :start_at, :foreign_key => :start_at The reason being (i think) because the start_at on QuizLog is a date and the start_at on EventLog is a datetime. So it returns nil trying to match the exact datetime on a simple date. How can I cast the foreign_key start_at on the second statement to convert it first from datetime to simply date so it will match the second model?

  In objective-c you are responsible for releasing objects you allocate, but what happens when you allocate an object in a method, assign self as the objects delegate, and then release the object. The callbacks from the newly created (and released) object fails at this point, or rather, doesn't happen. - (void)doSomething { MyObj *myObj = [[MyObj alloc] init]; myObj.delegate = self; [myObj performOperation]; [myObj release]; } - (void)callbackMethodFromMyObj:(NSString *)message { NSLog(message); } I can't release the object until the callback has occurred, and I can't avoid releasing the object in the same method that creates it (because it exists outside the scope). One way of doing it would be to pass the object along in the call-back and release it in the callback, but is this the right way to go about this?

Suppose there is Adam as author of works in all tables. So when i put Adam in search box it should result from all tables. I know this can be done by having single table or renaming fields names but that's not required. Please help.

  Is it possible to deceive SQL Server to return a different date on GetDate() without actually changing the machine date? This would be great, since we have a database with old data and I'm trying to test some queries that use getdate(). I can change my machine date but that brings some other problems with other applications... Any tips? Thanks!

• How do I correlate build configurations in dependant vcproj files with different names?

  I have a solution file that requires a third party library (open source). The containing solution uses the typical configuration names of "Debug" and "release". The 3rd party one has debug and release configs for both DLL and static libs - their names are not "Debug" and "Release". How do I tell the solution to build the dependency first and how do I correlate which config to the dependant config? i.e. MyProject:Debug should build either 3rdParty:debug_shared or 3rdParty:debug_static
